33:12 I do everything on 2x speed. Editing my videos, I’m never quite sure if their flow is good or not UNTIL I listen to them in 2x speed bc up until that point I’m like “wow I’m so boring why would anyone want to sit thru 10-15ish minutes of this?!” Little anecdote I wanted to throw in 😊 Great video!

This was awesome fun! And also at the very ending: We gotta talk about... WHAT??? The cliffhanger is brutal! 😵

Winter King took me about a week to read. Enemy of God about 24 hours, and Excalibur took 3 days. Phenomenal series.

I'm also a walk reader. I can't engage in any other activity and focus on an audiobook but walking is perfect for me. I walk an hour a day every day and I used to use that time for podcasts but now it's almost exclusively audiobooks, which has allowed me to read 65 more books over the last year and a half than I would have otherwise. But, I have to say, I don't understand playing books at a faster speed. I only listen at the original recorded speed. Why rush? How is narration that sounds like Mickey Mouse desirable for LOTR, The Shining, The Left Hand of Darkness, or any book?

I missed the boat with Mistborn, I actually started reading Fantasy again with EotW 😅 Tbf the only other secondary Fantasy series I'd ever read was ASOIAF, most of which I read as a teenager.

I don’t know if the guys will make it there but I firmly believe that the 5th book of ACOTAR is the only truly good book in the series (so far). ACOSF is worth the crap in the first four and it gives me so much hope that the series will continue to improve!

@@laurablakeauthor I have a visceral dislike of Feyre as a character and as a result didn’t like her romance with Rhysand so that pretty much spoils the first 4 books for me😂 They were definitely page turners though! And I can understand why people like Feyre. Honestly I wonder if the reason people like Feyre and Rhys is the same reason why they piss me off!

I've read 2 and a half Stormlight books and Shallan and Kaladin are tied for my favourite character 😅 I don't get the Dalinar hype at all haha I too love Jasnah, I've heard a lot of people are worried where Sanderson is taking her since she's one of the few outspoken atheists in his books. I actually find Jordan's characters more memorable and interesting, for better or worse. Nynaeve was probably my favourite WoT character by the end of Book 5. I adored Mat from Book 3 onwards. I need to resume my restart.
@laurablakeauthor3 ай бұрын
@@thatsci-firogue I’ve seen that worry about Jasnah too. I’m not concerned… yet

Plot isn't much of a focus in RotE, its more character introspection, and slowburn, slice of life vibes (for the Fitz books). I've read the first three trilogies, and its already in my Top 5 Fantasy series (completed or otherwise), I hope to resume the series soon with Rain Wild Chronicles. I don't do any research whatsoever if its a standalone but I will do a little if its a series, especially if I've heard something controversial about the author or something like that.

I've seen it done well in some series, but generally speaking Resurrection is my least favourite storytelling trope. Its why I mostly stopped reading superhero comics, death is completely and utterly meaningless.
