Hello thrivers!! Learning how to become immune to love bombing is huge because that is often their first step into re-engaging you into their life! But remember - life should not just be about avoiding toxic people, or learning about toxic people - the next stage of healing should be about learning how to get YOU back - how to close the door on the past and live in the present, while creating the life you really want!! Reacting to life and engaging in symptom management is not living to the full!! If you haven't gotten your FREE PDF I Miss Me & I Want Me Back yet.... be sure to get your copy and begin putting the focus on YOU =) micheleleenieves.mykajabi.com

It is "sad" that we have to do this, but human sexuality is more powerful than air, water or food. With love, your brain and heart can often fool you, but the gut never lies.

For me dealing with the past I find that I trick myself. I start digging into forgotten Memories and when I uncover those memories I stop thinking about them and fool myself .. OK I remember that, I've dealt with it, it's ok to just move on to the next step. Making my recovery very confusing . I guess it's like Jesus said . you can't build your house on a foundation on sand

Those stifled emotions and lack of worth instilled at a young age, keeping them repressed into adulthood without evaluation, is probably root responsible for the horrors that you can read about or watch stories of, that you question humanity. The disguise is very normal appearing till implosion day. Sometimes getting away alive is all the closure you need.

This video comes at the right moment. I broke up with my fiancé 3 days ago after realizing how toxic he is. Going from "you're all my life, I cannot live without you" for months, to blocking me all over social media just because I called him out about his attitude towards his ex/baby mama (which was disrespectful to me as his current girlfriend). He has anger management issues and is very manipulative. Now I realize that the beginning of our relationship was just love bombing. All manipulation. I'm glad that I stood up for myself and cancel the engagement. I've been through narcissistic abuse before and there was no way I could take it anymore from another man. I saw the red flags after 3 - 4 months and decided to cut it off Thank you for this video

Michelle, I really needed this today. I have been trying to heal for years. I have recently gone through another narcissistic relationship. The love bombing was over the top. He flew me to a vacation destination and took me shopping and treated me like a princess. Then when we returned, the devalue started. It was so hard for me to even admit that he is a narcissist. I wanted so bad to believe that he was a good guy. He hurt my self confidence and stuck the knife right back into that wound.

I must say I am out of that detriment of a addictionship. I must confess I went back so many times. We lived together and I was clueless to what was really happening. We got into a argument because I refused sex. He left and I didn’t cry. I actually felt at peace for thr for first time. I didn’t even have to convince myself he is never coming back in my life. I just knew I was done. Thanks to these videos I have awakened. Time to love me no matter what. And I been praying for healing. The lord can do all things. 💫💫💫💫💫

@@FromSurvivingToThriving thank you for all of your encouragement. I only been gone a month from him but I remember what he was doing. It’s not that I’m having flashbacks. I’m trying to figure out why when I was being attacked I couldn’t fight back. I froze and didn’t know what to say and times I was caught off guard. I got aware to what he was doing and said to myself Next time in his presence I would fight back. But something in my brain shut off. Now I know why. Your video explained it. The left side of my Brain shut down in those moments because of past traumas. It cant differentiate past and present trauma. The narcissist knows to disable some defenses attack something they have shame about. And it’s true it works. Now I understand. But once I got tired of fighting and didn’t internalize everything mean he would say when he couldn’t get his way. I had some strength to fight back. But I went through daily trauma constant attacks. I didn’t know in the beginning the narcissist was a professional at manipulations to that degree. I’m in no contact phase. And are watching your videos daily now that I’m out. I’m healing and for thr first time I have no desire to go back. Something clicked in my brain and said enough. Too many hits below the belt and all were unprovoked. And now the memories are less and less. Before I would return to thr vicious cycle cause of the trauma bond. But he amped up his tactics. They are too hurtful. He knew that I was finding my strength to leave so he went into full blown narcissist rage. It was evil and the ugliest I ever experienced. Time to respect myself and love myself. He will never give me those things. It’s ok I don’t want it.

When I look back on my life, I wonder if I attract narcissists because so many guys act like they are really into me without really knowing me. I remember a few years ago a guy asking me, "Are you interested in me?" and I wasn't sure how to answer that because I didn't know them that well. I wasn't attracted to that guy, then there was another guy a couple years ago who said they were really into me even though I had only seen them at open mic nights and hadn't had much of a chance to talk to him during the day. I felt it was strange for me to have to say to him, "I don't know you well enough to know". There are a lot of people who love bomb others out there and it's difficult to meet anyone who wants to move slow and build a genuine connection.

When I have a negative emotional trigger', I go back to that point in time and look at the instance; and then I recreate the instance in my mind' the way I would have liked it to have been'. I experience the emotions that I would have felt' if that memory would have been as I would have wanted it to be; I feel how I would have wanted to feel', effectively creating positive counter emotions to counter the impact of the negative emotions; effectively reverse engineering my dreams. Since the negative experience is no longer present' but the unpleasant 'charge remains', I imagine 'positive experiences' and fill my brain space with positive charge. Although the positive experiences may have not existed', the positive charge remains. The possibilities are endless going forward and back'. "live your dreams".

Thank you VERY much for this extremely important video, which I missed a year ago. I'm so glad I've seen it now though. I've watched other videos by therapists etc who believe that ANYONE, including relatively healthy people, can get caught up with highly narcissistic individuals for many years, yet I don't agree with them and you've validated my thoughts! I totally understand why they think this way; however, they're giving the impression that there's no hope and dismissing the fact that some people wouldn't accept the love bombing and other toxic behaviour. As you said, they're often not aware that they have unhealed trauma wounds and tend to not be able to accept that they have issues as well. I've noticed that many call it victim blaming, if anyone suggests that survivors could've stopped the situation from going further. I clearly saw BRIGHT red flags not long after I was targeted by the last narcissistic ex in my life! I totally understand how it all happened though and I'm doing everything possible not to be that susceptible again. ❤

Great video! I strongly recommend reading "Mindsight" by Daniel Siegel if you want to dig deeper in what Michele explains about how past trauma hijacks your adult's brain. Or even better, by the same author, "the whole-brain child". These books explain how to train the emotional part of the brain to work in harmony with the rational part, so that your mental functionning becomes "whole". (NB : these are not books about PTSD, but they do help a lot to build better habits). I think I never commented on this channel before, but I wanted to say it's been really useful to me. Thanks for this video, I 'felt' it big time. These people are absolutely horrendous - they lure you in and once you're stuck with them they start to destroy you with increasing speed. I do wonder how to tell the difference between genuine and appropriate attention versus love bombing. I suppose if I was going to break it down into a checklist, then: 1) is the gift/compliment/whatever too over the top in relation to how well you know them? 2) Does it feel like they are trying to move way too quickly with you? 3) Do you feel like they like you A LOT but you are not sure WHY, as you haven't naturally got much to talk about? 4) Does it feel like they're STALKING you, like you're seeing them too much for it to be coincidence or you've noticed them hanging around places you'll be? 5) Do you feel like they're the sort of person who people generally find hard to get on with, but somehow they're super nice to you? (all these red flags appeared with the narc in my life, who ended up doggedly stalking me for months - stay safe everyone.) P.S. can anyone add to my list?

Solitude will give you time to get to know yourself. I've met a Jehovah's witness who tried to help me in a situation (I moved and took me a while to get a plumber and I needed to wash my clothes). She left her keys on my door and called me to do my laundry and his 11 years old kid was there. I thought she didn't know me enough to trust me and her boy was sick at the time. I told her that didn't seem right for me to get into her house without her being present. She took it as an offense. Told me her son was very well educated and I answered that I was sure he was but that wasn't the point (doing my laundry, the noise while the kid was sick and without knowing me). I still wonder what was she about. I did it out of respect. She has been pretty cold with me since then but something pulled me back although I needed the favour.

The downfall of being genuine may also be misguided as love bombing. If the person is genuine and ready to rekindle the relationship then why not give it a chance instead of labeling it as lovebombing. Lovebombing is for people that never learn from their mistakes.

"I dont see why you deserve a scholarship, you don't do a damned thing anyway" I never tried at anything ever again. I'm now almost 29 and to this day. My mother refuses to admit this happened. So until she admits it. I can never heal
@FromSurvivingToThriving4 жыл бұрын
I'm so sorry that happened to you. But... you're mom will never admit it, and she will love that you never heal. But YOU can validate your own reality - you can tell your 13 year old self what was you needed to hear.... YOU can heal you!! If we wait for the narcissist to own their part.... it will not happen. You are still so young - you have your whole life ahead of you, don't let the past hold you back!! Earning a scholarship at 13... that is absolutely amazing!! Don't let her blindness and warped reality cause you to lose focus on how amazing you are =) But my words will never have the impact on your belief system as your own words..... turn that inner critic into a compassionate dialogue and you will be amazed at what you can accomplish.
