My first husband and I were very much in love and high school sweethearts. We married and had a girl, then boy. He then started working 6 days a week, did his hobby on weekend days or nights, and slept in Sunday morning. I was basically a single parent and resentful. We ended up divorced and our son has suffered ever since. It's been 30 years and it's still sad to think about it. Professional counseling might have helped us stay together.
