I met my husband when I was 9 and he 11 in 1966. I was the cooks daughter and he was the boss's son. I even moved overseas with my mother for two years when I was 11 and we wrote to each other. Everyone thought it was innocent until we got to about 15 and 17 and they realised we were so attached to each other. All kinds of hurdles were thrown at us and requirements. We stuck with it and got married at 19 and 21 and have been together ever since and had 4 kids and now 6 grandchildren. We are about to celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary.

@@simpgodd4646 do you know the date of your adoption and the state where your adoption took place? If you have this information you can contact the Department of Children and Families in that state. That was where I started and since I was 17y/o I included a letter from my adoptive mother giving me permission to receive the information. The state will send you general ( not identifying) information but it could include some health information that could be helpful. If you are fortunate enough to know your birth parents names- can be found out from foster parents or sometimes adoption agency. It all depends on if your adoption was sealed. I hope this is helpful to give you a starting place. Also you could do a DNA test ( Ancestry or 23 and me, I would recommend Ancestry). Best of luck to you.

Your parents would make sure you stayed home or all of you would move. Say anything to the authorities and they take the parent's side. There was no center for children that ran away or a shelter.

Forgive me if that question is too personal, it's just that I have been more and more curious about the power of prayer in other people's lives. Whether you do me or you don't, something brought the 3 of you back together and whatever it was it was something powerful; your love for one another? Never take one another for granted, that's for sure. You have a beautiful family and many more years to enjoy each other. I implore you to do so. Take care of one another, love one another, respect one another, and laugh. Laugh a lot. And don't just smile with your mouth, smile with your hearts. You guys are awesome

As someone who used to be a Care Assistant I agree, they have so many wonderful stories to tell I used to love sitting with them listening to them talk. We had one lady who sadly had Dementia (they all had something that required them to need care but they were all amazing people) she used to talk about her childhood, she would repeat the same story every time about a tree she had in her garden & she would ask you to guess what kind of tree it was. I loved talking to her about it & trying to guess the answer even though I knew what it was, I remember one night I said the correct tree & she was so surprised that I got it right she started giggling like a young girl when I said it was just a lucky guess. I miss working with the elderly but sadly I am now classed as disabled due to back problems & other issues, but I will always appreciate having the privilege to work with such lovely people 💛

@@MacenW It isn't creepy, but the REALITY of this story is that he didn't really love her for 50 years, he simply didn't live life with her, it's something that was a bit in his "mind" wouldn't you say? Had he really wanted to find her, it seems to me that he could have. Just knocking on doors? And, may I add that he was too young to be having sex, no wonder football didn't interest him. Sex makes babies, and these two kids surely knew that, I grew up in the 50's, we weren't imbeciles.

Playing devils advocate here. At the time they were separated maybe it was meant to be. At such a young age and to have a baby on top of that. They may not have been able to deal with the pressure. As we get older we are much more capable of dealing with life's adversities. I guess what I'm trying say is maybe this is the way life wanted for each if them. In the end it worked out quite well I think.

There is a book that I read as a teen titled "somebody's baby" that could have been written about this story!! Here is a piece of the synopsis: "by the end of Jenny's senior year in high school, she was pregnant. When they made a plan to run away, Jenny waited at the spot where Will was to pick her up, but he never showed. What follows is the story of true love that spans three decades -- between man and woman, parent and child. Jenny is forced to give up her baby for adoption, and when that child, Claudia, becomes a parent herself, she begins a search for her biological parents at the risk of destroying the love of the adoptive parents who have raised her. Claudia finds more than she imagined, as she uncovers years of lies and betrayal, sacrifice and silence, and the extraordinary love of Will and Jenny, whose faith and passion survive it all." written by Elaine Kagan.

Jesus loves you so much and I need to tell you that He offers you His Righteousness as a gift He will wash you completely Clean from ALL your sins and wants you to Come to him it says, “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Meaning the punishment for our sins is Hell Because we are not obedient to God. But Jesus was completely obedient to God He went to the cross to die for us and now we do not trust in our obedience but His it says, “Yet now he has reconciled you to himself through the death of Christ in his physical body. As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault.” Gods wrath and Judgment went on Jesus Because He was carrying our sins so God treated Him like the worst sinner now God will Justly treat you like you have never sinned after you believe upon Him so when the blood of Jesus is over you God cannot treat you like a sinner! He never wants to but now He can Justly treat you like you never sinned Jesus was our sacrifice for our sins! Tell God you admit your a sinner and ask Him to wash you with His blood and receive His Gift of righteousness. Come out of darkness and into light! it’s your part to receive Jesus to believe upon Him. It says, “Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.” Don’t think it’s not wrong to sin -because He loves us.

So glad they had to give up their daughter? Just bc they couldn’t have bio children at their ages now? Who wants a baby when they are 70?

That man has never fallen out of love with her. Just imagine the life they could have had if they'd been allowed to get married and keep their daughter.

Man, this made me cry so much. I can't believe they were robbed of 50 years just because they respected their parents' opinions. I hope for them to have an outpouring of love and joy to make up the lost time.

This is exactly what happened to my mom! She did a DNA test (she was adopted) and she found her biological parents after 50+ years! She is meeting her biological father this Thursday! Hopefully we get to meet her mom! So amazing.

my great grandparents did the same thing to my grandmother. she went on to have 7 more children and her first born did come to her funeral but he went through so much without her its still a sting in our familys story. this taught me an important lesson in listening to your children for when I have my own.

My parents seperated when I was 11. 15yrs later, I reconnect with my cousin who introduces me to Family, I meet grandma, then 2 months later grandma passes on, I go for the funeral, meet my father, reconnect him with mum who also remained single for 15yrs, they keep contact till today. My father became an alcoholic despite his talent of singing which he passed on to me. My dream, well am a Country Music Artist From Nairobi Kenya Africa, and I wanna go to Nashville, make my star shine, take my father to rehab, then have him do a church wedding with my mom, and give them a better life. Thank you for sharing this content Steve, it really touched me🙏
