Defnes grandma is something, she has a mind of old bragging typical village folk, who just thinks for grandkids get married and that is. She barely remembers how Defne sacrificed for her brother.

She is a mirror image of Hulusi and Neriman together. Besides those two characters, Turkan and Nihan were the most annoying, selfish and manipulative relatives of Defne and Omer in the entire series.

Grandma was already whining that the event with Serdar will mean her death and calling Defne's work about her blood sugar level. Defne is the one who took care of the entire household and grandma kept burdening her with it. Nihan pushed Defne into Neriman's arms to save her beloved. Grandma wanted to know how Defne got the money but the release of Serdar was more important to her than anything. So sad that he was still lying in bed with bruises. So Defne was manipulated by grandma with her ailments and Nihan forced her to continue with Neriman.

It seems that Omer has Yasemin and Farryaii in the same category. He Isn't really interesting in either of them as superficial relationship. He sees both of them as business contacts he really needs in his professional life, and he doesn't want to compromise that by having a one night stand with either of them. Although, Yasemin would like to become his wife, so she can get his money, it will never happen. Faryall is a business woman and only wants a superficial, non committed, relationship with him. Although, she would love to have a sexual relationship with him. He is too smart to allow that to happen and risk ruining his business relationship with her, because he needs her for his business marketing.

But what was surprising is that Defne saw Tramba and knew that he wasn't on the guest list and that he hadn't greeted Ömer..... How did she know who he was and that he wasn't on the list? She came later; Tramba could have greeted Ömer earlier? And didn't Sinan wonder what Tramba was doing there or had the reception been organized by another company?

Honestly, Defne's behavior puzzles me. Isn't she supposed to attract and seduce Omer? Then why doesn't she even try to do it or use opportunities when she has them? For example, when Omer offers her a drink, she leaves him to dance with Sinan without a second thought. Then again when he offers her a lift, she rejects his offer. But then when he was leaving with Yasemin, she acted like she was jealous or frustrated.

When she went to dance with Sinan, Ömer was on his way to the bar to get drinks. She had even offered to do that for him as his assistant. What about going home was different because Yasemin already forced herself on him to drop her off at home. He could have said then that she could go with Sinan because he would bring Defne home?

They spent so much time with Neriman getting her ready for the party, surely she understands what her goal at the party is and that she should look for every opportunity to do her job for which she has already taken the money from Neriman. Ok, they want us to think that Defne is pure and naive girl, who misses the signals, but this naivety is bordering on stupidity

Lool the shoemaker guy's selective re-telling of the Apollo x Daphne myth. Apollo was infatuated with the 'lowly but beautiful nymph' Daphne and she was desperate to avoid him ravishing her (Apollo had a reputation and had been with so many others and none refused him because of his beauty etc). Daphne wanted to retain her purity and she ran away. Depending on the story variation, while fleeing with him in pursuit, she either prayed to a higher goddess who transformed her, or Daphne herself transformed into the daphne/laurel tree so Apollo could never touch her. Not very romantic, kind of horrifying, like many Greek myths lol
