Lovett - I’ve been hearing the adage, “ absence makes the heart grow fonder,” bandied about over the last week as friends come to terms with the isolating effects of social distancing and quarantine. I think it might be applied to your guest co-host as well, in that, if we heard from Ronan more often the gleeful notes of, “oh my gosh, Ronan, hello!” might mellow out a little. I’m old and thankfully on my own. Solitude is my dear friend after a life of chaos and family dysfunction. All the noise, fear, uncertainty and betrayal is definitely not missed. I also had more than my fair share of fun so there are few regrets. I have great life-long friends that are directly responsible for my survival. I feel badly for younger folks that are alone. I would have been climbing the walls if I had to isolate when I was young. Independence is a trait that serves me well but it brings loneliness. That passes and I’m fine again after my self-absorption passes. We all need to just do the best we can and stay safe.
