Good Info. I would be concerned about the difference in temp from left to right. Even if the engine is hot, it is uniformed across the engine. One side cooler than the other will most likely not end in a good way!

I get real time temps thru my power vision tuner. And without the love jugs my bike runs 20 deg warmer. And after a king ride my temps will continue to rise at a idle. With love jugs on the temps drop at a idle. I have a 135 engine so she runs warm. Only issue i keep having with them are the motors going out.

Great video. Honest review. I’m not a fan of love jugs. But I have to admit any cooling of the head is better than no cooling of the head. Just my opinion. I personally would not buy any either. I'm not shilling for these guys, but I've got real world practical use experience with them over the last 6 months. I've never heard an instance of heads warping with anyone using Love Jugs. The metal would require a much more substantial temperature range for that to be an issue. I did the same tests you did when I received them and had the same takeaway until I started to use it during daily commuting. What you are mainly seeing a difference in is surface temps and not internal. The better test would be to run something like a PV to monitor internal head temp on that back cylinder as well as an oil temp reading. I have the same set for M8 softails and I can tell you 100% it does help in Texas heat. Where I would regularly run 310 on the back cylinder during stop and go in Dallas traffic with outside temps at 105+, I rarely hit EITMS temps (287 degrees) and never hit 300. My oil temps were about a 10-20 degree difference. I recently added an Ultracool 3.0 dual fan oil cooler and that has dropped my oil temps to around 250-255 max temp and in turn dropped my head temps down another 10 degrees to never higher than 275. For me at least, this was $1000 well spent when you include the oil cooler. I'm running a bulletproof 124" with a 22xe cam, stock heads ported 64mm TB and EFI, Sawicki mid length catless, and FM AC/DC +1 high flow intake. Tuned for every day riding I'm at 135/145 on 91 octane. I'll be installing the Trask Tornado Turbo kit over the winter as well.

good day to ya, wasn't until i moved from wi to nv 4 yrs ago and 1st riding summer in nv no love jugs on both bikes, triglide and ultra was very easy overheating especially at stop lights or low speed. put the jugs on and made huge difference. on the longer time stopped, can feel the heat blowing to the right side of bike. i ride with them on mainly that way on when come to a stop and if that hot when parking bike will keep them on for 5 or so minutes. i am looking at the dkcustoms oil cooler for all the bikes just to have more cooling with the dry 110 degree summers. other big thing found for help cooling is intake, where intake air is farther away from the motor.
@DrHarley8 ай бұрын
Anything that can cool the motor and oil evenly will help. My concern is that the temp on the right side of the motor gets hotter than the left side. Uneven temperature on components can cause failure and possible warping.

A 131 is going to produce a lot of heat, way more than a stock M8. I have the Love Jugs mighty mites and the fan assisted oil cooler. I think it takes a combo of things to keep the motor cooler. tuning is a big factor with cooling the motor too. Even use a FLO reusable oil filter that is supposed to drop oil temps 10 *. Theyre not going to cause your heads to warp. The air is passing through the fins and by the negative pressure on the backside of the airflow, its pulling the heat from the right side of the engine away as well as the left. It may be slightly hotter, but not enough to cause a warp. Warp comes from being too hot. If the heads dont warp from the heat stock, then they arent going to warp if one side is warmer than the other. By that logic, riding in a strong crosswind for a significant amount of time would cause your head to warp.
