I feel like Peniel just doesn't like to show off that he cares. His way of showing he cares is by joking around and to find humor instead of being all down. I had a guy friend that was just like that. He would be annoying most of the time but he was always the first to help out and was always there when needed. But he fell head over heels for this girl and it was so surprising how he changed his ways and how careful he became with words. We always thought he was going to be alone the rest of his life because he was just so straightforward with everything. The way Peniel is reminds me of him so much. Ah, I really miss him.

This episode was so AMAZING, not only was it a great topic but I love when the guest are just as forthcoming as the host. I read this book about 15 years ago and what we've realized is that the love that you wish to receive may be different than the love you enjoy giving! Like, my primary is words of affirmation and secondary is acts if service, but I have found that I love giving my partner quality time and physical touch. 48:29 this. While I always enjoy every episode of get real with smiles and laughter, this part somehow got to me and caught me off guard. With the recent episodes, the crew has kept referencing their mbti so I decided to take the quiz again to rmbr what I was. I realised I’m also an INFP like Harry, so it seemed to make more sense that I relate mostly with his thoughts/opinions. And even in this episode, it’s the same, especially relating to the thought about how making others feel good is more important than caring for ourselves, because somehow to me I always have to be of service to others, to be beneficial that way. And then abt the pt at 48:29, yea, I’m in a phase where I’m not sure how to give and/or accept love in that capacity as a partner, or even if I’m capable to do so, because similarly, perhaps I don’t love myself enough. When that thought was articulated, i just felt sad bc it has been a mental tussle from time to time. It sucks to always have those buzzing thoughts of “who are you to want to receive love from someone else” and “it’s selfish to want to receive love when you’re not good enough”. So yea, the ending of the ep got abit hard to process. But I hope to make progress in being confident that I am worthy. Quite a timely listen and reflection as well with the new year just ringing in

This was a great episode. Love doesn’t have to be romantic though. Do you tell your family you love them? If it’s a dating thing not everyone wants to rush into physical contact depending on their values & comfort levels. Some people still wait to be intimate until after marriage.
