I'm not entirely sure why, but N feels... right for this song. He's clearly always had a deep love for the world, for Pokémon, and - even if it's perhaps not to the same extent as his animal friends - for people, and that's probably why Ghetsis's designs for him were doomed from the start, since he always had the capacity to connect with someone like Hilbert/Hilda, for no reason other than he wanted to see what they were like, and see their love for their Pokémon. I haven't played Legends or Scarlet/Violet yet, so take this with a grain of salt, but I've felt more and more recently like the Pokémon games have had the most wasted potential out of all Nintendo's franchises in terms of story; a lot of them like feel like they got the building blocks together - the life and death theme of X and Y, Galar's various issues in Sword and Shield - but rarely rise beyond a good character arc or a particularly moving moment. In that regard, I think N manages to be one of the best characters the series has ever had. Black and White's themes aren't perfect, but they come together well in him. He's one of those great, genuinely likeable ones like Steven Universe who I feel not only brings to life his series, but makes me see the world and my life in a better light, too.

HGSS has since taken that spot, but I still go back to Legends just because the story and everything in the game was done exceptionally well for a Pokemon game. If you can find time and/or money to play, I highly recommend it.

I personally think Arven in S/V serves as a nice spiritual successor or parallel to N. Both of them share parental issues, a deep love for pokemon, and even hints that they may not be human! Arven’s character arc is a lot simpler than N’s, but I think in a kid’s game that serves for the better. They’re both amazing characters.

It's hard for me to not miss being a kid. Everything held so much hope, even if my childhood wasn't the best. The first pokemon game i ever truly played was pokemon white. I played for hours, really connected with my team, and genuinely enjoyed myself (despite not knowing wth i was doing 😭). When i wasnt at my moms house with my ds, playing pokemon white, i was living with my father and Steven Universe would come on cartoon network. Recently, i got to finish Steven Universe and now, i've found this. Slight tw (nothing graphic, i promise) I'm a legal adult, it feels bittersweet, especially after being uncertain for so long about whether or not i would get to have this after all my years of battling with mental illness and trauma. This brought me back to some of the few happy memories i have of my childhood, i cried in a good way. Thank you for reminding me of my roots, two things that were truly shining beacons of comfort in my darkest day (pokemon sword/shield pun intended 😎)

this legitimately made me cry from nostalgia. It reminds me of of those days of being young and having a sense of wonder, but also at the age of maturity and coming to understanding. Being in that emotional growth state and just being able to grasp some of the more serious themes of the game, yet still having that freedom of being young, theres a feeling there that cannot be recreated now. That was 13 years ago now. So much has changed, so much has happened. I've lived, I've loved, I've gone through hardships but have also seen success, I've been through hell and back. Even though this song isn't from the game, the soundfont hits, and has left me yearning for those days of my childhood. I'm 26 now, and I know I've got a long life ahead of me, but it already feels like a lifetime since then.

Looking back at the first time i got pokemon cards. First time i played a game, first time i got a shiny, first time i got official merch, I wouldn't trade any of it for the world. I've made so many good memories because of pokemon, The name Lizzy is forever etched into my brain. Thats what i named my treecko when i first got her. My first pokemon. I now have a plush of lizzy by my bed at all times. I was real original, i saw a lizard and went "oo lizzy" haha! And gosh the hype from new games coming out and the tournaments! I know a lot of people say that pokemon is starting to decline in quality, but as someone who grew up on ruby and on, i think they are doing amazing. They truly are changing the world, one pokemon at a time :)

Pokémon was something very important in my life, I never had a laptop like GB or GBA to play games, so I always used to play on emulators, since I usually play on my cell phone. I remember when it was my first interaction with the games, when I was looking for a game to play and I found pokémon ruby, what a fantastic game .. but I never got around to beat it because I was too young and I didn't know much English at the time (I'm Brazilian). But then the name pokémon came to appear more and more in my life, a few years later I met Pokémon Emerald, and I beat the game full of happiness, because I realized that the game looked a lot like Pokémon Ruby, but I didn't think it was an improved version. Even though I needed help and internet guides on what to do, I managed to beat the game and I became more attached to the franchise itself, it was too magical to see that my pokémon friends and me reached the top. After that I went after more games, and I met FireRed, what an amazing game for a GBA user, but I didn't beat the normal version, in fact, I beat a Hack that changed pokemons for characters from the Sonic series. After I beat the game, I went after more and more, from there I played Pokémon Heart Gold and Pokémon Platinum (which are my favorite games in the franchise nowadays), and even though I didn't have an option opportunity to play games from the 6th generation onwards and consequently not knowing their history, I looked for more GBA Hacks that implemented the pokemons of these generations in the classics of GBA. Now I'm playing Pokémon Unbound, and what an incredible Hack .. everything in FireRed is improved in Pokémon Unbound .. and before I met Pokémon Unbound, I met Pokémon Inclement Emerald,a fantastic and improved version of what already is Pokémon Emerald. There I met my favorite Pokemon, the evolutionary line of Rowlet! Decidueye for me is the most amazing and coolest Pokémon, I insisted on getting Rowlet as a starter, because he deserved it. I didn't beat the game, but I came close. This is a not so summarized summary of what has become my pokémon experience these years.. So much to know and so much to see, I still need to get to know the 9th generation better. I am grateful that I came to know and that I love the franchise today, although I have some.. dislikes.. like the 5th generation of Pokémon Black and White, I still love the franchise, and I hope that you who are reading also love her as something special, because pokémon has already marked so many lives in an iconic way..
