I think arranged marriages eventually becomes love marriage after like a few months since both parties never touched, make eye contact with their opposite sex ever. While love marriage just slowly dies out and the expectations are too high. For me Slow and steady always wins the race.

Maybe your parents are forcing you as this is right age for you to get married and after a few more years, it might be too late. Our parents love us and they don't do anything without a reason. So I think you should stop making ur parents look bad. May be they are right. If they are forcing you to marry a certain person who you don't like then it's wrong but if they are just telling you to get married with whoever you want then I think there are not wrong as they know better than you, and maybe they think its the right age/time for you to get married.

What Muslims don't understand nowadays is that the first thing you should check in a spouse is Deen. People nowadays check financial position and have materialistic approach. What they don't understand is Allah has taken the responsibility to feed His beings and also that the girl brings her share with her. And she may increase your share from hers'. You can marry your daughter to a millionaire but if Allah has not written wealth for her shes not going to get it. No matter how hard you try. The only thing that'll remain is your faith and your Deen and the only thing accompanying you to grave. May Allah show us the right path. Ameen

I'm 46, Now retired. Single For 7 years. Wish I had kids and children to leave my wealth and belonging too. I've Never Married. I am 100% in agreement with Family Arranged Marriages vs Finding "love". Love alone will get you into trouble and heart broken in my experiences. But my suffering and Regrets are all in God/Allah's hands. I have a full life and busy life. Just no wife or children. So am Greatful in other ways. Not Everyone is supposed to have Children or a wife.

Masters in lying and manipulations . Dont believe them . Have no kids after all Keep money for your life till grave and one distribute it in bonds to be used on specific days of after death . I met a Muslim guy and we both love each other, it's been 8 years and waiting for him to marry me, but the problem is culture and religion, his family didn't like me but he loves me so much that I can believe in his heart by his deeds and how faithful he is. I'm just waiting til he became stable in life coz having a family takes a responsibility. Then he was set for fixed marriage that he didn't know the lady, we both left broken and he just want to follow what his family wants. I felt bad about this coz he's not happy too about this plan. Just willing to do for his family sacrificing his feelings, I don't know how the relationship will work. Yet I'm his first love and 8yrs. He even gave a word that we will stay together, they will have their body to let him do what they want but not his heart. He Wanna come back and planning to marry me and have a family life outside his country. Just visiting them once in a year or even twice. I really felt bad coz I don't want to see him doing something wrong but I cannot leave him too. The love is not selfish so I agree to let him marry back home with respect with his family and if he will comeback then I would still care for him. The reason is that we couldn't cheat our heart. You can give the body but the heart always choose what they want. I couldn't leave him coz he was confused. I want him to have a direction in life

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. ٱلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ وَرَحْمَةُ ٱللَّٰهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ. Sister, if your husband treats you that way, to the point where you get depressed, honestly, I suggest that a divorce is the best option. But before that, have you tried talking to your husband? Have you asked him, why does he behave like that with you? Did you tell him, that you're hurt because of his actions? Maybe he's going through a lot of stress or something, but still that doesn't give him the right to treat you in that manner. If, even after you both have discussed things, everything has failed, and he continues to treat you that way, then I suggest you should go ahead, and divorce, because really, you have to spend your entire life with this man, and he's already making it so hard for you. It's not worth it, staying with such a man then. Like I said, if everything fails, then divorce is the best option, and Allah تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَىٰ knows best. He will give you someone better, it's okay, this dunya is a test for us right? So be patient. But in the starting you said, that you weren't ready for your marriage right? That means it was most probably a forced marriage. That in the first place is haram. Anyway, I hope things, get better for you, Insha'Allah they will. Don't lose hope, Allah will reward you abundantly for staying patient in such a hardship. Pray to Allah, that either He تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَىٰ gives hidayat to your husband, or He عَزَّ وَجَلَّ makes things clearer or easier for you. Leave things up to Him, but yes make sure you do your part as well. Changing someone's character is usually hard, and not the best option honestly, you can't change someone that easily, except if Allah تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَىٰ wills. If you feel like you should divorce then go ahead, listen to your heart, that's how Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ will make things easier for you. I pray that Allah سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ keeps you healthy and happy. 🧸

My wife attacked me physically after we got into an argument and i got angry and responded with three of my own slaps now she has left the house 8days now and her mother called me to ask me to divorce her I did not intend to harm her they dont want to resolve it what should I do please? Physical violence is NEVER ok! A man should NEVER hit a woman and a woman should NEVER attack a man. May Allah SWT make this situation easy/better for everyone involved. Keep making dua and ask Allah SWT for help. My advice would be to give your wife/her family some time to calm down. They may still be angry/upset at the moment. Keep reaching out to them, and apologise again. When things are calmer, arrange a meeting with your wife. Talk in person, when you’re both calm. Express your regret and promise that you will never hit her again. InshaAllah when she sees/hears this, she will reconcile the marriage. May Allah SWT do what’s best for everyone involved.

The thing is, before marriage, shaytaan makes you overlook each others flaws. After marriage shaytaan tries to highlight each others flaws. In the end, a marriage, a love for the sake of Allah, by Allah is the only one that will last. Do not marry a man that is not ready to devote his all to Allah. I understand you love him a lot but get closer to Allah. You must love Allah more than yourself, him and anyone else. Anything you love more than Allah will destroy and if you love Allah, you will know to take the right step knowing Allah will heal you even though it might hurt initially.

It seems to me if we don't listen to our parents then we are doing wrong in Allah's eyes and if we are listening to our parents then we're missing an opportunity (I often felt I made mistakes in listening to my parents well meaning but often misguided and ignorant advice) from Allah Swt. No disrespect to Muft Menk, he comes across as affable and knowledgeable, however this is confusing and contradictory advice.

YOU are confused. This is not a confusing advice. Understand that not listening to your parents is NOT haram. Disobeying your parents is not haram unless they ask you to do something haram. Agreeing to marry someone without having interest in them is haram. Non-consensual/forced marriage is haram. SO if they ask you to do that, you can respectfully disobey. Ibrahim (A.S) disobeyed his father to the point where he almost got burnt alive, but he did it for a good cause and hence he was rewarded.

Assalaamu Alaykoum wa Rahmatu Allah wa Barakkatuh indeed I agree let it happen you can get married and study at all times and when the parties Both support each other they can always finish their studies and develop themselves, I prefer love marriage because you want to live with your soulmate for many years longer and further in the afterlife in the heavens to continue and beyond that nobody wants to stay with somebody they don`t love and after a while have a miserable life and you can't force your children to Marry because of culture issues or self interests subhanna Allah
