My wife and I were totally captivated! It became our favorite weekend date time ... the last 3 episodes kept us awake until we finished the finale at 1am! Bravo to the two main cast, the supporting cast specially the deliciously evil villains, the writers, director and the production team. Hope they all win awards and this dramatic masterpiece becomes the best period KDrama of 2024! Bravo!!!

Tension throughout is palpable in every episode. ML's acting possibly the best I've seen in any kdrama. Every look, every gesture is nuanced to perfection. Supporting cast well chosen. FL beautiful and conflicted feelings well portrayed. Sad though that women actors in particular in kdramas agree to a face full of fillers. Faces always look distorted thus we miss the nuances they should be portraying during times of intense emotion. Episode 8 last 6 minutes, sizzling! Once again, due to MLs acting ability.

I never understood why he didn’t save her and the others when he took the throne. He believed she was innocent as well as the other female. So why did he do that only to go mad every year for 3 yrs during the rain? Can someone explain that. I have watched this several times still can’t figure it out unless his love for him/her would keep him from being the king. A weakness?
