So turning songs on their head has kinda become my thing, I can’t take too much credit for this one though as this is a cover of an arrangment by Sarah Cothran so make sure to check out the original version of this song here ! • Love Story - Taylor Sw... I did however throw in some lyric changes at the end and add some spoken lines for dramatic effect just for funzies!
As I mentioned before I’m taking a little break from my ‘Disney characters as villains’ series so that I can just have some fun and cover some songs that I love! In the meantime I am preparing the next lot of villain songs so you won’t have to wait too long. Until then I really hope you enjoy the covers that will be coming out! Shakespeare only wrote the play (in one drunken night) because his patron demanded that he wrote a teenage romance like the audience wanted. So he made a yo mama joke filled story about the stupidity, and often disastrous, outcome of teenage romance. People don't seem to understand that this isn't romantic, it's a comedy that ends in tragedy. It itself is an oxymoron...

Maybe it's a murder-suicide? Juliet's father didn't approve of her dating Romeo, so she told him she was going to see Romeo one last time to end things in person. She just didn't say *how* she would end it. If they couldn't be together in life, they would be together forever in death. And the white dress is for her funeral.

You sure? It looks like Juliette was the one who was problematic. "Juliette don't" could have been Romeo begging for his life and "Stay away from Juliette" sounded like a warning because of how dangerous she is. She wanted her happy ending so she forced him by gun point

I also got that vibe!! He picked the wrong (emotionally unstable) girl to toy with-and she got him back in the end. From the tone of Juliet's father's voice, he came across as overly controlling and quick to anger, which could make Juliet more vulnerable to Romeo's charms as he would appear to be the "prince" that could save her. I enjoy analyzing problematic characters and media, so this is just my interpretation :)

This gave such a mental image... Juliet holds a box with engagement rings in one hand, and a big gun in the other hand, pointed at the viewer. Carefully examining the details of gun reveals that the safety is off and her finger is tightening on the trigger... Edit: Addendum to the image above, work in a liquor bottle somewhere. Maybe tucked in the neckline of her dress. "Lining up a shot", as T.Swift put it, is probably a reference to pool or billiards, but I like both of your alternate meanings! 😁😈

I feel like (especially at the end) the minor key with the slightly switched lyrics at the end makes the song feel like Juliet fell madly in love with someone she just met while Romeo kinda didn’t at all feel the same, so Juliet instead went out and kept desperately trying to pursue Romeo, even going as far as attempting to force him to marry her and making everyone go along with it. It kinda gives a nice spin to the classic song/love story between Romeo and Juliet and I love it!
