I love this song so much! Still my favorite from the piano guys! And i love how John wrote it for his daughter :) You can tell it means a lot to him because this is probably the only time i haven't seen him smile; some passionate artists don't smile when they play a song that means a lot to them, like Lindsey Stirling when she plays "Shatter Me". It's really special and it's so nice to see musicians love music as much as they do. That's what makes their music touch people's heart and makes me cry :)

Jeri Lynn Walsh, a recent bride of mine, selected this as the song that the wedding party and mothers entered to. This mash-up by the Piano Guys is amazing and definitely set the tone for an exciting and beautiful evening at Philadelphia's Crystal Tea Room. Love it!

I discovered these guys today (about six hours ago) and am working my way through all their videos one by one. Think I might get some sleep next Saturday or so 'cos I keep repeating a lot of their vids because they are AWESOME! Pachelbel at the wedding? Star Wars Cello? Beethoven's Secrets? Is there nothing these guys can't play and make sound amazing? Wonderful stuff.

Just when I thought I got bored of Viva La Vida (I listened to it at least once every single day for 2 years and have stopped for about 5 months), I hear this and right when the composition reaches its beginning I start tearing up spontaneously.

Teacher always said enjoy music because it enjoys you, don't take music as something to be learned, take it because it gives you joy, music is a basic material that lifts the spirit, to lift your lazy butts off your seat and let your fingers and ears do something that can be done by simple practice.

Never heard this one before, until I saw The Piano Guys perform it live yesterday in their concert in Tampa. OMG... who the heck would have thought to combine these two songs, and make it work so beautifully!!! Having them lead the over 2600 people in the audience in the vocal chorus during the Viva la Vida portion brought chills... it was incredible.

This is amazing - a lot more love story heard at the start. My two fave songs together. I love the sheer enjoyment seen on their faces, that's what music is about, not "you have to learn this by next week" or "I asked your parents to make sure you practice". I hate the pressure of learning an instrument with weekly lessons from a teacher you don't know much. That's why I've spent the last four or five months teaching myself ukulele and I've made more progress than I ever did being taught recorder of guitar, even if I chose to learn that instrument, it's the way you go about learning that instrument. You have to enjoy yourself, you have to be in the mood for it.

Anna Kornilova It is, even more so because Coldplay ripped Viva La Vida completely and utterly from Joe Satriani's "If I Could Fly"!!
@jepc9200310 жыл бұрын
Lexi Clayton there's like 4 or more accusations of that to Coldplay but like Will the drummer says it only happens when a song goes very successful and sells a lot, Satriani just wanted to get a portion of the sales and so everyone that comes for it, if we go in history we'll find that this four chord circle belongs to an Italian classic composer so I guess they all ripped it from it.
@lexirussell415910 жыл бұрын
Yeah - a chord sequence, I grant you. There's that Axis of Awesome video we all know and love. But this one is a little more unique than your standard I-V-vi-IV (or variant thereof) chord progression, don't you think? As well as the metre, rhythm, harmony and even melody being more than coincidentally similar - it just stinks of Mr Martin trying it on a bit. Clearly failing too as he settled out of court - so therefore had to have admitted a degree of song-nabbing. Creativeguitarstudio does an excellent analysis in two parts to this end so if you're interested in the musicology of it I 100% recommend a watch - from a musician's perspective it's fascinating. I don't mind Coldplay but still with the back-catalogue and history Satriani has, it seems like a genuine infringement. Even if it wasn't strictly intentional it's more than a passing coincidence.
