In this sermon we're listening to Jesus' words in Mark 13 about the end times. But far from being a message of doom, it's one of hope and preparation. Jesus tells us not to be troubled by wars, disasters, or persecution, comparing these events to birth pains - difficult, yet leading to new life. We're encouraged to love God's Word, stay watchful, and be ready to witness. This isn't just about future events; it's also about now. Are we clinging to temporary things, like one of the disciples admiring the temple, or are we focused on Christ and the eternal Word of God? The message challenges us to live differently, knowing we have a future secured by Christ. It's a reformation call to patience, courage, and hope in the face of worldly turmoil, reminding us that through faith in Jesus, we're already citizens of an unshakable kingdom. // October 27, 2024 Sunday Sermon from Mark 13:5-11.
