I could never hate Alan Rickman for that part. He showed the fragility of humans. He went for the thrill of the new and destroyed part of himself and a relationship that will forever be changed. Let's not forget that the young girl knew what she was doing...as I write these words, I reminisce and can feel how he realized what he did. Sad this is the story told so often for so little...

It’s a pretty complicated movie for such a “pop” Christmas movie. It’s a pretty great piece of work that offers some sincere moments, cliche moments, and the messy nature of life too
@satirically-yours Жыл бұрын
I think he got kinda burned. Being caught having an affair he hadn't really started. He didn't even seem to me like he was really in the market. The office tart seemed to be leading him astray. Yes he was falling for it. But she was the instigator.

Love how, in just three short pieces, Armstrong has managed to distil the essence of love... you feel every bit of Mark's pain and the bitterness of love unreturned in Glasgow; Portugal tells of love's innocence and pure, unadulterated beauty and lastly comes that incredible fanfare to the triumph of love over all other things.... God only knows where we'd be without it....

Selene 13 I watched it on Christmas Eve and it’s Christmas Day when I’m typing this and there were bit where I chuckled, felt sad and smiled. This music is so good it recalls the wonderful feeling you get from the movie itself, and clear snapshots come to mind: Juliet on board waving back to the wedding guests as the couple heads off to the honeymoon; Aurelia walking away down the sidewalk and wiping away a year; Sam running through the airport crowds, determined to see Joanna before it's too late. Powerful music...it even recalls the emotions of those moments. It all fits the movie so we'll, and it's such a joy to listen to.

You know that "Love Actually" is actually an antidote to 9/11? Hugh Grant makes his reference to it at the beginning, and the whole movie is designed to remind us that airports and air travel are mainly and mostly and usually ways of spreading love and joy, not death and terror. The movie "Signs" (with its awesome music from James Newton Howard - kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3eqfGWIe7qEgtU) was also M Night Shyamalan's way of trying to get people to come back to optimism after 9/11. God's Holy Spirit could not resist getting involved in projects like these, and He inspired, and somehow resides in, the music involved with these films. And look again at the Rickmann-Atkinson "jewellery counter scene", and see just how much religious content is in. The Holy Spirit is not idle, and knows 21st-century methods as He tries to reach us with the mercy and love and truth that are from God.

All of your comments are like my own. No, you can never get enough of this film. Yes, the score and sountrack is undeniably perfectly befitting of each and every moment. So well written. So well performed. So well. Well done. And of course....Alan. Rest In Eternal Peace. Extremely Well Done. And I'm quite picky. So thank you, Richard Curtis for following your heart from written word to 'Action' call. Well done, indeed! I'm available to get the sequel done. It's time.

I first saw this movie a few weeks ago (I won't say where as I saw i whilst working in the venue) but it as played with a live orchestra. Now, it's not a movie I would normally watch. I'm quite romantic but in a general/heroic sense. But.... from the opening interlude, I was captivated. I loved it and it moved me to tears in parts. It's not a perfect movie; of course not; there are all sorts of bits that one could criticise for being unrealistic, but...you know what...I love ...it ❤️
