I've been witnessing my parents toxic relationship for my whole life and let me tell you guys somethings I noticed in past 19 years about my extremely narcissistic father 1 You CAN'T tell how he actually is even after spending lot of time with me. He's like the most charming , broad minded and smart even with other family members but with my mom she just takes a full 180 degrees 2 He wants to be the centre of attention but at the same time he'll humiliate her when she comes to talk to her , she's the last person on his mind but he wants to be her prioritiy 3 She has to take permissions to do everything but when she's asking him he'll just go like" why can't you decide something on your own" 4 He criticise each and everything she likes and does from her favourite colour to her way of walking 5 He manipulates her to not to talk to other people and make friends and to sneakily listen their convos 6 He also buys things for her himself rather than letting her go shopping 7 He never calls her by name it's either pet names of curses 8 Twisting and turning her words to manipulate her and guilt trapping 9 Using her feelings and deepest fears to establish control over her 10 Lastly that never ending cycle of Abuse and Apology If you're in such kind of a relationship please get out of it as soon as possible . Trust me it's not healthy at all

Please refer to Narscisist as He Or She. My wife is having all signs of Malignant NPD and I felt suffocated after a while. It took me 7 yrs to realise this after series of Roller Coaster rides of Idealization, Devaluation, then Discarding bouts of abuses, both mental and physical. It has been 2 years since I learnt I am an Empathetic person which was constantly getting abused. I am stuck in this relationship for life now as I have a daughter! But I have learnt to deal with her and the flying monkeys better now. I am on the path out of the Trauma. Hoping to find peace inside me.

He would lift me up just to stomp me down over & over again for 3 years. So true. I am going through that cycle everyday. 1st he showers so much of love & care, after that he'll start saying nonsense about me & my parents, resultantly I start shouting bcz no1 can hear ill about their parents, he'll threaten to kill me & my parents, he'll assassinate my character by linking me with other guys, he'll abuse me, and again apologise. He speaks such things which are totally unbearable. Any person would get compelled to shout & the moment I shout it becomes a huge issue bcz my parents & neighbours come to my room asking as to what happened. It becomes so embarassing. He always says that "tere life mein aisa ladka ayega jo tujhe aur tere maa baap ko joota maarega, mere jitna pyaar tujhe koi nai karega". He always tries to justify his abusive nature by saying that u too abuse me. But I abuse when he speaks ill about my parents & threatens to kill them. He says "tere baap ko goli marwa dunga, tere ghar ghuske tujhe aur tere maa baap bhai ko cheer ke taang dunga". How can I stay silent in such a situation ?

True..it happens like that because they control us so much. Even our own thoughts get polluted after staying with them for so long and we realise this again and again. I would say, only time and awareness can make things better in such cases. It's very easy to get trapped again, therefore it's important to stay NO contact with them (which is the most difficult thing to do because of the addiction created over years). Complete cut-off is the only solution.
