That comment was consistent with his feelings. He ate the Reeces because he hated himself; he was boyfriends with Adam because he hated himself. You are right; that is awful but there are others who behave the same way.

This was really good. Both script and acting were impressive. I felt myself in the character of the protagonist. it's so topical of the modern gay man. very well done!

Awesome message. The old saying is you can’t love someone else unless you first love yourself. It’s not true. You can. But it’s not anyone else’s job to love you. It’s yours. When someone else loves you, it’s a gift. It shouldn’t be something you lack and need, but something extra that you love receiving.

This was brilliant. It had so much meaning and used a perspective that highlights so much of the character's individual vs self conflict intertwined with the presentation of conscience- while showing every piece of memory tied to a wave of emotions. This was beautiful in such an artistic way that captured the smallest details up front when the audience finally saw the truth behind the Art Exhibition pieces- at the same time the main character did. I loved that it addressed human emotion, and a viewpoint on dysfunctional relationships, along with its small spotlight on mental health and internal conflict. This has to be one of my favorite short films and I will be definitely recommending it. Well done.

What an exceptional film; writing, acting, camera work, scene transitions, music, editing. I've watched it through a few times to enjoy it all again. I don't recall being so captivated, second to second, by a such a well produced film. Great relatable story. Thank you. The talent expressed here has got to be experienced by more people. I hope your path is cleared to share more.

This was absolutely beautiful and I almost cried My analysis: I see it as though both of them are hurting in different ways. Adam is struggling with his homosexuality. He doesn’t want to look at Lance during sex, he says he doesn’t know what he’s doing, etc. Lance is struggling with self love. He even says he eats Reese’s pieces because he hates himself. He’s so desperate to be with someone because he doesn’t want to be alone. This causes his to look past Adams behavior. Obviously, it’s fucked up that Adam doesn’t tell Lance how he felt before displaying it in an art show. However, Lance comes to terms with his problems because of it. At the end, he dances with himself, which is a symbol for him finally loving and accepting who he is.

@@SounderMom31 I just found this the other day and watch this short film number of times already. I understand Lance part. Adam behavior is questionable was he experiencing with Homosexuality? He was not sure what he is? Like he says he been with few Eve's but never with a Steve!. Is he a bisexual? Or Pansexual? What is he doing? He should told Lance what going on this stage of life..

Lance ultimately is the archetype of so many modern gay men... He seeks love from other people to confirm his sense of true worth But the people he fell for also are unsure in themselves the way he is He hates a part of himself He is rejected by people he loves But he also rejects himself It's a vicious cycle which feels impossible to escape.

I'm a gay man of 63 and been out for a long time. Your film was powerful in telling the emotional states of being in both men. The artist in a new world that looks the same but he is unsure and still learning about himself. The subject himself so assured, at least on the outset, so sure he knows the artist's mind and yet he doesn't and needs to step back. He's so quick to doubt the artist, too impatient. He becomes very frustrated and the light goes off and he sees the root of his frustration is not the artist but himself. When he's able to accept "self' and let self be, then real honesty and joy can exist. This was my take on it and I have not seen this in a gay movie before. This deserves a large audience Chad Hylton! Bravo Sir!

I've watched this multiple times over the years and it reflects something that I fear most. My mental health and fear of loneliness will affect my relationships so badly, that it's not even worth the pain. I don't want to be the cause of someone else's pain or make them feel trapped because I'm so fucked in the head. I find myself needing to just, get comfortable with being lonely because that's all you'll ever be.

ever since I watched this short film I haven't been able to get it out of my head. I watched this late 2017 and showed it to almost everyone I knew. But something I didn't realize watching this before is the fact that they both didn't actually want to be with each other. They wanted to feel loved the way they felt like they had to be. I've spent so long looking for this film again that watching it all over has given me a new perspective on how I treat myself in life. I relate to Lance and Adam in many different ways...This short Film has not only ripped me apart once but has done it again

Definitely the best and most relatable short film I've ever seen. The actors were amazing and the direction was wonderful. Even in the end love how they emphasised the "you" in the "dedicated to you". Best way of summarizing an amazing movie. Thank you for sharing.

"I've had a few Eve's but never a Steve." He should have run as fast as he could at that point. Is this two sides of the same coin ... a woman thinking she can persuade a gay man he's not really gay, and a gay man thinking he can convince a straight guy he's actually gay? Such self-deceptions can only lead to guaranteed heartbreak.

I watched this film a few years ago, and I remember really liking it, but nothing else... I have now just finished rewatching it for the first time ever since and I'm almost crying, because this time the meaning of the film really resonated with me :')
