Unfortunately they did know of her suffering and her dad and I believe a body guard both tried to help her into rehab but she left it and refused so she wouldn't get help but unfortunately addictions are hard to deal with for the addicted and the loved ones because the addicted has to realize the addiction and want to get help or nothing will work but RIP to her because she was a great talent

Many big blues and jazz stars do the same. Amy never sung the same song the same way twice, and so it sounds new and fresh every time. I don't remember who it was, but a jazz singer commented that it would get so boring to perform the song always the same way. I guess Amy felt the same.
