Hi. You really need to react to Lovebites' 'Edge of the Word', 'Holy War' and 'Swan Song' to appreciate Asami's (the vocalist) full range. I see you play the piano, you should check out the video of 'Swan Song with Chopin's Revolutionary Etude played by Miyako' the black haured guitarist. All Lovebites members' are sophisticated, well-educated, insanely talented musicians at the top of their game and their live performances are flawless. Lovebites' best videos are from their Zepp Diver City, Tokyo 2020 concert. No country is keeping the flame of rock burning quite so brightly as Japan. The number of great bands is staggering, the level of virtuoso musicianship is ridiculously high and the number of kick-ass & bad ass female rock musicians and all female and women-fronted hard rock and metal bands is unrivalled anywhere else in the world.

Some info for you. links below post. Formed by the drummer and bassist from Destrose had done 6 albums and toured. Miyako is classically trained (10yrs) pianist , started learning gtr 18yo and writes a lot of the material . Gtr player Midori is the shredder. Singer came from R&B band, and studied ballet and sings and speaks on stage only in English. But sometimes you still need subtitles, opera , even in English is hard to hear clearly. They have been to Europe and UK already , played festivals and won Metal Hammer award , for Best New Metal Band. s you will see in the videos below, EVERY member of this group is at the top of their game. Asami /vocalist, Midori guitarist (blonde) , Miyako/gtr and piano, Miho bass, Haruna /drums.

Yes, I get that feeling, and I still get it even listening to them for the 50th time. They are a transformative band, really unlike anything before. Re. their look: You could have asked a bunch of comic-book artists to design a band of alien superheroes, disguised as beautiful women who use music to battle darkness, and they could not have come up with this. I know your focus is on vocals, but this band really merits appreciation of all the components. Some background: They were formed from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief metalhead and soul of the band) recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuke”); they went and found the two guitarists, Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands, and the whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she also trained in ballet). Miho and Miyako compose most of their music, in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer, but Midori has also been getting into the act. Asami writes a lot of the lyrics. They have only been around for just shy of 5 years. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Slayer etc. and they pretty much aced it all. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and it seems clear they’re taking it to another level. This is one of their thrashier songs. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash, and almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel. Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. (As another reactor said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band.") Miyako is also a professional-level classical concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. If you want to see what she can do on the piano, watch “Swan Song” WITH the prelude, which is Chopin’s “Revolutionary Etude”. Miyako wrote “Swan Song” using elements from several classical pieces including the Etude. You’ll have to watch two clips back to back: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nnWlm5yHfp6Wr8U and kzbin.info/www/bejne/q3bWdop_iMhrh5I They are generally best live. You should next check out “Holy War”: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJikqaN7paqWpNE Other live songs to check out are "Edge of the World" and "We the United", back to back: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZ2TXohjrtB9ebc They form an incredible journey from darkness and despair to light and hope. Also, “Empty Daydream”, which starts as a ballad and becomes a real rocker: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oonLkKiDgp5noLc For a heart-stopping ballad, “Epilogue” kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6rRn4t6m6qhpLs (this includes a second song, your choice whether or not to react to both) Finally, while it’s generally true their live clips are best, I have to say, these MV’s are epic and worth seeing: "When Destinies Align" kzbin.info/www/bejne/nn2plp9_bpiJoa8 "Glory to the World" kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6itpXdojaqLfpY "Winds of Transylvania" kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqSoZYiYlLWdnpo. You can’t go wrong with any of their official clips. You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the sound quality is poor. Best to take suggestions with actual links. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack!

@@hiawatha.g Well, besides Japan being the first test subject for those devices, I see nothing positive in nukes, and nuclear power plants... Fukushima comes to mind. Haruna (and the rest of the band), however, always makes me happy. On the comparative side, a nuke goes BLAST and then there is a lot of nothing. The 'Thunder Machine' can go on for more than 1 1/2 hours, as we know, smiling all the way. O, thanks for considering it.

As a vocal coach this is not the Lovebites song I personally would have suggested. Asami’s background is Jazz and R n B and she shines when she’s not competing with the volume and the need to cram in so many lyrics. Try “Edge of the World” next, or ‘Epilogue’ (though that comes with the track “Don’t Bite the Dust”). Also try “Swansong” but to remain in your current state of awe, watch the version with the Chopin Piano Etude intro (yes, you read it correctly).

Guitar player here. New subscriber. Though I'm not a vocalist, I really enjoy technical breakdowns. This song is great for guitarists because Midori rips your face off with her solo, then Miyako gives you chills with hers. But it is one of their "thrashier" tunes, and probably not the best study for Asami's vocal technique. Some I might recommend are "Empty Daydream", "Edge of the World", and "Swan Song". All three also showcase Miyako's skill as a concert pianist. If you choose "Swan Song", make sure you get the longer version that has Miyako performing a Chopin Etude at the beginning.

Unfortunately, the longer version of Swan Song appears to have been removed again. The Revolutionary Etude intro, and Swan Song are still available as separate clips, but the full clip showing it and Swan Song in one is gone. This is at least the second time they've pulled it.

"When are they coming to Munich?" LOVEBITES has toured Europe a bit, UK, France, Netherlands, Spain, Belgium and Germany! They were the first female Japanese band ever to perform at Wacken Open Air in 2018 in Germany! "Edge of the World", "Holy War", "Empty Daydream" (all LIVE) will give you a better idea of her vocals. 🙂 This song is more heavy one and don't show the vocals that much. By the way the singer Asami comes from a R&B background, this is her first time in a metal band. Thank you, LOVEBITES are amazing!

What makes this even more impressive: Asami, the vocalist, doesn´t have a background in rock/metal but comes from jazz/soul/R´n´B. There´s an older video of her, singing Alicia Keys songs in a small jazz club in Japan here on youtube. It´s pretty cool how she transitioned from this to a metal queen.

I focus on the bass but Haruna, the drummer drew all my attention. Bought their whole discography a few days later. As others have said this isn't Asami's most versatile vocal performance. Edge Of the World, Swam Song probably are and for backing vocals the best is Empty Daydream where Miho and Miyako do backing vocals and harmonies.

Greetings and thank you for reacting to LOVEBITES! I'm at 3:18 your video. Vocalist Asami is the only band member that was unfamiliar/inexperienced in Metal music prior to 2016 when she auditioned and became "Aligned"* with the others. Her previous experience had been many years of ballet dance, a few of jazz dance study in USA and return to Japan singing R&B/Soul and backup vocals. Miho, bassist and primary LOVEBITES founder (with drummer Haruna, previously bandmates in all female Metal band, "Destrose") had a particular 'vision' which included a unique vocal style for this new band, as well as all English lyrics/vocals. All are about 30 years of age. "We are sophisticated women" ~ Midori *"When Destinies Align" is a song about their coming together to form LOVEBITES. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nn2plp9_bpiJoa8 A wonderful, possibly unanticipated 'bonus' is Asami's lyrical abilities, now a primary lyricist along with Miho who also writes many songs, both music & lyrics, this song "Break The Wall" being one of them. Miho's lyrics tend more to overcoming harsh truths through perseverance while Asami's are encouraging of self-empowerment, integrity, dignity and unity in love. All members write music and lyrics, individually and in collaboration. All began on piano in their youth, or younger. Guitarists are Midori (1st solo) and Miyako who also handles the piano/keyboard duties, as has been mentioned. This is a band with a message for humanity's healthy future.

Yeah welcome to the Wolfpack. The best all female power metal band in the world at the moment. And yeah you mist them already, they was in Wacken 2018th when I sow them for first time. That year they won the Metal Hammer Golden gods awards for best new metal band. Lovebites are influenced by 80s metal, their inspiration bands are Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Halloween, Metallica and Slayer. The last album Electric pentagram was nominated for one of the best 20 metal albums for 2020 year. Also they was invited by Dragon force to touring together in UK 2019th ( that was my second time when I sow them live again). Lovebites are formed in 2016th from ex Destrose band members Miho the bassist and composer ( she is the band leader) and Haruna the drummer. The other members are Asami the vocalist and songwriter ( she was R&b and jazz-soul singer before to join the band) Midori the lead guitarist and backing vocals with the blonde hair ( one of the fastest female guitarists in the world at the moment, she is inspired by Yngwe malmsteen and Kiko Loureiro) and Miyako the other lead guitarist, pianist and composer with the black hair ( she is the main composer of the band, inspired by Gary Moore and Richie Blackmore classical training pianist start playing piano at age of three). Check the songs Thunder vengeance and Holly war. Enjoy it.

Iam in love from Bolivia Latinoamerica, LOVEBITES, Guitarists Miyako and Midori are both from the city of Osaka, both took piano lessons for years (Midori also learned organ), and both took up the guitar relatively late. Midori went to music school - Musicians Institute Osaka branch, where one of her instructors was the late Mikio Fujioka, lead guitarist of Babymetal's Kami Band - and Miyako is basically self-taught. Miyako made use of a well-known instructional book series, whose title literally translated into English is "Mechanical Training Phrases from Hell", working her way through the entire guitar series. There are versions of these instructional books for bass and drums too, and there's hardly a Japanese musician on those instruments who hasn't studied them.

Cast: Miho, Bass; One of the founders and leader of the band. Haruna (Energizer Bunny), Percussion co-founder; Asami, Vocals and Piano (studied ballet in US, which explains the way she floats about the stage; Midori (blond? guitarist/shredder #2, Miyako, guitarist #1 and keyboards (child prodigy) she plays Chopin Etude as the lead in to their song "Swan Song". Sum total: Fanfreakingtastic! which is the opposite of FUGLY (fucking ugly). Love the Kiwi's and Aussie's; Cheers!

Oh, if you love this song (and personally, this is my favorite Lovebites song) just wait till you hear more. You won't be able to stop listening to them. And also, this song is actually a pretty tame song for the lead singer (Asami). She has insane range...so just wait till you see more of what she specifically can do.

That's an awesome song, but not exactly a great vocal showcase. Seeing as you liked them, I'd strongly recommend either Holy War (Live 2020) kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJikqaN7paqWpNE, where the singer Asami sings in a much higher register, or Edge of the World (Live 2020) kzbin.info/www/bejne/fHi1qYt5edmFfKM, which really is a journey, going through a number of rock and metal styles in one song.

More LADIES bands i suggest to you: From Japan (some with the same vibrato style, -a cultural reminiscence . i think - ): - BandMaid - Nemophila - Mary's Blood - Aldius - Bridear From MEXICO: The Warning From Nederlands: BlackBriar (must... must react to Zora's voice and sing style!! Must!! ) From Swizerland AD Infinitum (Symphonic metal style) Fron Demmark Myrkur (react to her LAST album songs. She uses some nordic singing styles.) As i say in the previus comment.. i listen a lot of music ;)

If you really want to analyze Asami (that's her name) vocals then try songs like Edge of the World, Empty Daydream, Epilogue, Swan Song (all of them with a little piano bonus ;) ), Dancing with the Devil or Liar. There you will see what she is capable of. Break the wall is a great song, but not that impressive from a vocal point of view. She can do much, much better.

Welcomed to the mind-blowing world of Lovebites. These women are so talented, skillful, versatile and great musicians. Actually Asami (the singer) has a R&B, soul, jazz background and she met with metal when she joined Lovebites. In order to appreciate Asami’s vocals I suggest the songs “Empty daydream”, “Epilogue”, “Edge of the world”, and “Dancing with the devil” (all live if possible)

Welcome to the Wolfpack!! Sub these girls, all their songs are on YT! Yes.. I did get THAT feeling the first time i heard these girls too!! Since you like metal, check out the ones that aren’t available in live videos like “Mastermind 01”, “Set the World On Fire” and “Warning Shot” to name a few. Of course, all the concert versions are worthy of a reaction video- these girls are diverse in the genre and talented beyond belief. They should headline their own world tour, but I have no idea who would open for them. Maybe they should open for Dream Theater- I’d like to see what Haruna would do if she had time playing with Mike Mangini’s set. I would probably fall down dead and happy if those 2 bands did some sort of on-stage jam session.

@@ZoeStibiVocalCoach- My new favorite band period//*\\ Their total ladylike style- that just makes it better! 🤩 They are a bit like Annie Oakley- she was a woman famous for doing stuff better than men in shooting sports. She made her own dresses with full length skirts to present a more lady like appearance in her show. Different genre- but have you heard of Deap Vally? That’s a 2 piece girl band, and I have seen an interview where the guitarist talks about sewing her own clothes like what she wears in Royal Jelly. Different style of music, but I have to admire those who forge their own path regardless of the demands of the “scene”. OH, back to our new faves- Don’t watch the “Shadowmaker” official video. For some reason, some dude (I assume) thought it would be a good idea to interrupt the middle of the song with an upcoming album announcement. The video was probably a pre-album release done for marketing. Watch the “Live from Abyss” studio live version of Shadowmaker or I think there’s an actual concert version out there. If you listen to the album version- note how freaking great it is that Asami added a scream in the middle before the guitar duet break. That’s so much better- I hope they release this stuff again, and release it in the US because I have to cheat and watch bootleg YT videos instead of supporting the Princesses of Power Metal with my money!
