These are the metal queens 👑. It's like taking Metallica and Iron Maiden and refining them to upper echelon play.

This concert is from 2021 and was performed under strict covid regulations. The audience was limited to 50% capacity with mandatory masks and no shouting or cheering. As well as the Covid related restrictions, Miyako, the guitarist with long black hair, was several months pregnant. She played this near two hour long concert without a break, the only concession being to wear flat shoes instead of the usual high heels. She gave birth to a daughter later that year. Asami, the vocalist, also had a baby not too long after Miyako. These ladies are tough ! I think a lot of the reason Lovebites, and the other Japanese bands, are so good, is that they work so hard at it. Miyako has a background of playing classical piano, Asami Ballet dancing. They are coming from the mind set of having to put in hours of practice every day, and it shows. The harmonised playing by Miyako and Midori doesn't happen by chance or luck, it is down to the hours of intense practicing together. It is the same approach to doing something well that resulted in the Japanese manufactures putting the British Motorcycle industry out of the running, something I remember happening back in the 1960's and 70's. We may be in the process of seeing something similar in music. Lovebites and Band Maid may be the equivalent of Honda at the Isle of Man TT in the early 1960's. Treated with amusement at first, but about to blow away the existing order.

Thunder Vengeance live 2020, show opener. If you're familiar with early Metallica, it's got Ride The Lightning vibes and the riff is F brutal with a sweet breakdown. The Japanese metal / rock scene is on fire! Well done! 🤘

There's a whole lot more greatness where this came from my friend. You will LOVE this band. Five beautiful women who are also great people who don't drink, smoke, wear tattoos, or do drugs, just a group that enjoys their music and spreads positivity to all. And they can melt your face off.

The first song you reacted to was from a 2020 concert, and this one was from one of their concerts in 2021 and it was performed in the middle of the pandemic, which was why you could only hear clapping at the end because the show was COVID-restricted. Here's another thrash song from a more recent concert - "The Hammer of Wrath" LIVE : kzbin.info/www/bejne/pnnViIWKZa-Yl8U

LOVEBITES - Set The World On Fire lyrics: The blue moon colors the blaze Stabbing myself with the thunder The predetermined imitation An emotionless and a fearless smile Flowing blood and crimson blade Devastated resolution Heat haze is waving far away Who’s going to be sacrificed? ON FIRE Just like a falling flower ON FIRE Until this body rots away Burning down to the Gates of Hell Distorted madness is sneering Incompetent, cowardly fools A pitiful and painful punishment It’s you who will be sacrificed ON FIRE Dressed in an armor of steel ON FIRE If I’m burned again and again I’ll rise up from the Gates of Hell SOLO: midori / miyako / both The blue moon colors blaze Stabbing myself with the thunder The predetermined imitation An emotionless and fearless smile SOLO: miyako Flowing blood and crimson blade Devastated resolution Heat haze is waving far away Who’s going to be sacrificed? Your description of LOVEBITES sounding like a mix of Metallica and Iron Maiden is quite accurate. LOVEBITES are exceptional at fusing separate sub-genres of metal into a single song, and their thrash/power metal hybrid songs are some of my favourites.

You need to check out the Italian power metal band called Frozen Crown as they are on par with Lovebites. Try the songs called KINGS,- NEVERENDING and FAR BEYOND,also WATER DANCER. Pure power and Thrash,,great guitarists drummer, bass and a singer with a top teir voice as she can hold her notes like no on else. 3members up and quit a couple of years ago and were replaced with magnificent musicians as they sound like they never skipped a beat. The and Lovebites are playing at PROG ROCK festival in Atlanta early September.

Sometimes it's hard to separate memories /feelings in your mind. Make sure that you make that separation here -- this song it too fantastic to have it tainted by memories ill will caused by Sony. I started this morning with Band Maid's "Hate?" (Official Live), went to your reaction this Lovebites gem, them I'm going to do Nemophila's "Rise" (Official Live), then Hanabie's "Otaku..." (Official MV), all at max volume. I've seen Band Maid live 4 times, Nemophila twice, and Hanabie once (plus Passcode), {Lovebites has yet to do a U.S. tour}. Sorry about the Sony business -- a reactor's life without access to Hanabie is a sad thing...we all feel for you!
