This is reminiscent of what was happening on the Glory, Glory to the World EP. The added intros and outros, the extra synth, and everyone playing at their best. The biggest difference is Fami is a bit more daring in her bass lines than Miho. Miho liked to play it safe and just bridge the gap between Haruna and Miyako and Midori as seamlessly as she could but Fami is willing to do a bit more.

Judgement Day - lyrics: Never live, never die, never end, nowhere to go Every night, everywhere, everything arriving in darkness What is right, what is wrong, what is sin, who's to decide? Hide and seek, truth or dare, playing tag, chased by the Evil Another back and forth of gaining and losing Running out of my time, each tick of the clock's taking down piece of my life again Who's allied, who's against, who's to pay, I'll wait it out Up and down, in and out, left or right, answers are nowhere What do you see in this world full of insanity? When do we come to ask what's awaiting us, don't look away! This is the truth RISE! THIS IS JUDGEMENT DAY! LIFE, GIVEN THE FOREVERNESS RISE! THIS IS JUDGEMENT DAY! LIFE, LIVING EVERY STORY Travelling in the past, find salvation Now with the great will, the path lay in front of me Starting here, this is the day! First off, one of the many things I appreciate about your videos is that you understand, what I thought would be a simple concept, the balance between the music and your voice. I have started but not finished other videos where the voice is so loud in relation the the video that it hurt my ears. So thank you for that. I saw and heard the video moments after it was released and right off the bat it was great to see that they were utilizing and incorporating Fami’s unique style into the song. Those tapping chords at the beginning were great. I loved the look of the video also. There were spots where I was getting a Rainbow vibe. Anyone else sense that? Can’t wait to hear more and then their 1st live show next year.

Your comment about Harunas playing got me thinking. I’ve always considered her to be one of the most creative drummers I’ve heard, not to mention her insane technical ability. She and Miho always locked in together extremely well and I wonder, with Fami’s style of playing, how Haruna will work with that. Also it will be interesting to hear how they will play the pre-Fami songs in concert.

With attention given to bass-slap playing that Band-Maid's MISA and (even more so) F Chopper Koga of Gacharic Spin exhibit with their respective band's music, I'm not surprised that Lovebites brought in someone who can expertly incorporate expanded bass technique into their music going forward. Mind that I think Rosana Miho was PERFECT for Lovebites' music up to now. My respect and admiration for her will never change. As talented as Fami is, she is younger than her bandmates; I wonder how they will be able to sustain the chemistry among themselves. It will be exciting to see how Fami grows in the next few years -- and Lovebites with her.

Superb song. With Fami the Band goes to another level, it now has what I think is a rythm section that is absolute world class. Fami brings a new drive, almost a dance element to the song. She introduces these little "comments" in the bass line, tiny rythmic slides, a momentary ritardando that has the effect of driving the rythm forward; and within the solos that delicious hammer-on drm/bmbm underneath, echoing the theme, as a kind of "grace" note to give this a shadowy, dancey flavor that actualy lifts the solos and makes them richer and deeper.. Fami is a super find for Love Bites and lifts the band to another level

"For guitar fireworks to really work, they need a rock solid foundation. And that’s where Miho and Haruna come in. They are the unstoppable freight train that powers the whole thing and keeps it all moving forward at breakneck speed. They create the framework that allows Midori and Miyako to shine as they do. They are one of the best rhythm sections right now. Not just in Japan. Not just in “girl bands.” Not just in metal. In the world. Regardless of genre, gender, or geography, they are every bit as spectacular as the guitar goddesses they share the stage with." excerp from Unijolt review of Lovebites "Five of a Kind" With Fami, they have experimented with that so far. Couple of quick points/opinions..... I think that Miho is a very good bass player. However, she absolutely loves classic 80s metal, and plays like they did in the 80s. Unfortunately, metal has evolved in the last 30-40 years. While there's no doubt that Lovebites has been influenced by the metal giants, they have added a modern twist to it. Fami was never into 80s metal (I don't think so anyhow), and she's not influenced by it. Her more modern way of playing better fits with the direction that Lovebites music appears to be heading - judging from "Glory, glory to the Word" tracks and this one. I don't think Lovebites could have picked a better new bassist. Last thing... Lovebites is going to be playing two concerts in Japan sometime in March 2023. I'm hoping that they'll make a DVD of one or both of the concerts so that those of us who can't see them live can enjoy the concert - sort of like what they did for "Heavy Metal Never Dies." I really think that they will probably do that; it would be a good marketing choice. One thing is certain - I'll be getting the Feb. album as soon as i can.
