They are a fully native Japanese band. Although Miho's (bass) Asian features are a bit more subtle than the others, so that she doesn't always look Japanese from some angles, she is as Japanese as the rest, lol. She was one of the founders of the band, in fact. Unfortunately, she decided to leave Lovebites in 2021 to pursue other musical interests, but her replacement Fami, who joined in 2022, and can be seen in all of their music videos since 2022 and in the live videos from the Knocking on Heaven's Gate Live DVD, is one of Japan's premiere bass phenoms!

LOVEBITES - Swan Song lyrics: If this was the last day you could live on this earth Would you still go on, accusing someone for today It’s better to fail than not do anything at all It is not the length, but depth of life that counts Oh brave soldier Oh gallant warrior Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla Believe what’s in your soul For death will come to all You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven Floating lotus You are so graceful Saintly and glorious Till the end of time Floating lotus You are so beautiful Sing me your sweet song The legend of the swan If you’ve never hoped, you’ve never been through despair Ignorance is bliss, it’s easier to never care You might think it’s meaningless to sacrifice a life Sometimes the life of one can save so many more Oh brave soldier Oh gallant warrior Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla Believe what’s in your soul For death will come to all You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven Floating lotus You are so graceful Saintly and glorious Till the end of time Floating lotus You are so beautiful Sing me your sweet song The legend of the swan SOLO: miyako / both Floating lotus You are so graceful Saintly and glorious Till the end of time Floating lotus You are so beautiful Sing me your sweet song The legend of the swan SOLO: midori [guitar] / miyako [piano] ----- lyrics: asami music: miyako arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami) album: Electric Pentagram 01/29/2020 ------

Great reaction and really pleased you were so impressed at the first time of seeing them play live - which is the best way to experience them. The Wolfpack have given you most of the information below, thanks guys. Guitar World magazine said of Midori(Warrior Princess) 'her guitar solos are death defying and routinely astonishing', and some rate Miyako(Guitar Goddess & concert pianist) as the number two female metal guitarist playing in Japan today. I've been a fan of rock music for 50 years and a few days ago, I saw Rolling Quartz(a very cute and fun all female rock band from South Korea - NOT K-pop) play live in London, I really enjoyed the concert, but Lovebites are on another level(and possibly, in a league of their own). I want to see them play live if they add the UK to their forthcoming world tour, as their talents are amazing.

Welcome to LOVEBITES 🤘🏼🐺🔥 Here some information about the band: LOVEBITES are around since 2016 and their first EP and album came out in 2017. At this point they have already released 4 albums, some Singles/EPs and also a bunch of live DVD/Blu-ray releases. Back in 2018/2019 LOVEBITES have already toured in Europe, including appearances at the major metal festivals as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop. In 2018 they also won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band. Then came covid, their original bass player and founder Miho quit the band for personal reasons and two babies were born. After a break LOVEBITES came back with new bassist Fami and new song „Judgement Day“ in late 2022. A new album with the same title came out in February 2023. It debuted on #4 at iTunes album charts worldwide and #1 at metal charts in 8 countries. Recently their album „Judgement Day“ was voted #15 in best metal albums of the year 2023 by readers of Metal Hammer UK. Also „Stand and deliver“ was voted on #15 for best metal song of the year. What are fantastic results for a still relatively unknown and foreign band. LOVEBITES finished touring Japan last October. They will be on a WORLD TOUR this year. First dates are already announced for this summer. They will appear at several festivals. For example they will play on main stage at Hellfest/France, one of the biggest metal festivals in Europe (with 60k tickets sold). Now we (the wolfpack) are all waiting for more dates to be announced …

Welcome to the Wolfpack. They are all Japanese, but sing all their songs in English. Named after the Grammy winning song Love Bites (So Do I) by Halestorm. Lead singer Asami has joined Lzzy and Halestorm onstage at Download 2019 performing that song. Miyako and Midori (blond pony tail) on guitar. Haruna is a beast on drums. Bassist and band co-founder, Miho, is seen here, she left in 2021. Fami joined on bass in Oct 2022. Formed in 2016, they released their 4th album last year. Yes, Miyako played the piano and went to guitar, and back. The piano you hear during the song is a track , recorded by Miyako. She was trained as a classical pianist, and took up guitar at a much later age.They refer to themselves as a heavy metal band. Some songs lean towards power metal, some towards thrash, and some ballads. Judas Priest is one of their influences, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Slayer, and Helloween are some others. All are between 4'9" and 5'2". As you see, they are great live. To hear more , from this Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020 concert, try "Holy War", "Thunder Vengeance", and "Break the Wall". to see new bassist Fami, from the Knockin' At Heaven's Gate 2023 show, try "Hammer of Wrath", "Judgement Day", and "Stand and Deliver(Shoot 'em Down).

Thanks for the info and recommendations. It's funny, if I had to guess which song the name came from, I'd probably go with Judas Priest's Love Bites. But I guess it's a term that many have embraced :-)

Best new metal band to come along in years. Petite musicians who wear their femininity proudly, playing in gowns and heels, but turn into Metal Goddesses on stage. Haruna 4' 9" beast on drums, Asami 4' 10" vocalist goes from soft bluesy to thunderous. Then you have the best lead duo playing today in Midori/blond and Miyako/black a/k/a M&M (yes Miyako is a classical trained pianist who self taught guitar at 18). Midori dropped out of College at 20 to enter a prestigious music school for guitar, they are polar opposites who harmonize like few can especially LIVE. Miho/bass is the founder of the group who wanted a more European sound in J/Metal and to sing in English. She left in 2021 for personal reasons but Fami a 21 y. o. phenom has been added. Japan is where Rock, Metal and Jazz have gone to flourish and women including many all female bands are at the vanguard. These women will never disappoint. Frozen Serenade Live for some ballet, acoustic guitar, piano, M&M thunder and Haruna's legendary cymbal work should be next. Welcome to the Wolfpack (fanbase) and any song by them will be epic to experience.

Congratulations, you just found the most talented metal band to come along in decades. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they waited out the pandemic and searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 (see below) and dropped their first new song on December 22. Their new album, “Judgement Day”, was released two months later. They did their first live performances in more than two years in summer of 2023, with their new bassist Fami. Their very first show was commemorated on the DVD “Knocking on Heaven’s Gate”. They have posted four performances from that DVD-“”Hammer of Wrath”, “Judgement Day”, “Nameless Warrior” and “Liar”. All of them are barn-burners. They have also posted “Stand and Deliver”, “Swan Song” and “MDO” from the second concert. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics and is also getting involved in composing. In mid-2021, Miho left the band she had founded, for personal reasons. They went on hiatus while they searched for a new bassist, and during that time, two of them had babies, even as the band were writing and rehearsing their new album. They recently announced the new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist. Their first song with Fami is “Judgement Day” kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2TYeJ2mYrVqeqs The instrumentalists studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance was that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like crazy). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." Here are more clips you should check out: “Set the World on Fire” kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2rdpHtsnqySbMU from their 2021 concert DVD “Heavy Metal Never Dies”. “Don’t Bite the Dust” kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXnRfHp7n5Z2g8U, from the same concert; "Edge of the World" and "We the United", back to back: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZ2TXohjrtB9ebc They form an incredible journey from darkness and despair to light and hope. Also, “Empty Daydream”, which starts as a ballad and becomes a real rocker: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oonLkKiDgp5noLc; Perhaps their greatest masterpiece, a showcase of multi-instrumental virtuosity and even classical dance “A Frozen Serenade” kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5aboYSMqpKFhJo; And their most reacted-to video, “Holy War”: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJikqaN7paqWpNE Miyako is also a virtuoso concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. She is self-taught on the guitar. You just saw a bit of what she can do on the piano. The intro is Chopin’s “Revolutionary Etude” (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor). Miyako wrote “Swan Song” using elements from several classical pieces including the Etude. For a thrasher with heavy Slayer and Metallica vibes, “Break the Wall” kzbin.info/www/bejne/a4HGYYuBZdGBo7c includes two gorgeous and completely contrasting solos by M&M. For a heart-stopping ballad, “Epilogue” kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6rRn4t6m6qhpLs (this includes a second song, your choice whether or not to react to both) While you will sometimes hear you should only react to live clips, actually their MV’s are epic and worth seeing. Here are four of the most spectacular: "Shadowmaker" kzbin.info/www/bejne/eKPQoJ-kaqyrq9U This is the song that blew up and melted faces all over the world "When Destinies Align" kzbin.info/www/bejne/nn2plp9_bpiJoa8 "Glory to the World" kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6itpXdojaqLfpY "Winds of Transylvania" kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqSoZYiYlLWdnpo. Finally, the audio tracks of some of the new album are up on youtube, and worth checking out. The band clearly came out swinging and wanted to make a statement. Every song on the album is a showcase of their incredible talent and songwriting capabilities. “Stand and Deliver” is a thrasher with a fun video of them in the studio. “Soldier Stands Solitarily”, the final song on the album, is being touted by some as the best thing they’ve done so far-I encourage you to see and decide for yourself! You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the sound quality is poor. Best to take suggestions with actual links. Also, you can’t go wrong with any of their official clips. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack!

LOVEBITES is a five-piece all-female heavy, Japanese metal band with deep musicianship (plus classical music/piano background). They transcend gender, genre, and geography, with some 60 songs in their discography. They won Metal Hammer Golden Gods Award for Best New Band (2018), toured with Dragonforce (2019), first female Japanese band to perform at Wacken Open Air (Germany) and others in Europe, and are unusual among Japanese bands in choosing to sing in English plus good lyrics (a daunting task for native Japanese speakers). They play a variety of heavy metal styles and are heavily influenced by NWBHM, especially Iron Maiden and the "big four" thrash metal bands. Their live performances are best: NEW 4th STUDIO ALBUM, 2023 (Judgement Day; highly acclaimed (wiki), Guitar Solos galore): Judgement Day (music video) from their latest album, 2023 (power-thrash-symphonic metal): kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2TYeJ2mYrVqeqs ; Stand and Deliver (music video) kzbin.info/www/bejne/anrQeHRtmLWsqNU SHOW OPENERS: Thunder Vengeance (thrash - show opener): kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4ioaIOneNV6n5Y ; The Hammer of Wrath - new release just over 1 week ago: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pnnViIWKZa-Yl8U. However, this is their first song from their very first album, 2017, but also the first with their new bassist. The previous live version of this song Awakening/The Hammer of Wrath is equally superb. RANGE OF METAL GENRES: When Destinies Align (power metal with insane solos), this is live kzbin.info/www/bejne/m2WbgKp9mLlmeNE, the music video is also worth watching. Shadowmaker (thrash/symphonic with insane solos): kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZ6kfIWffJ1sh8U Break the Wall (thrash): kzbin.info/www/bejne/a4HGYYuBZdGBo7c Set The World on Fire (thrash metal): kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2rdpHtsnqySbMU ; Edge of the World (ballad with Gary Moore inspired solo): kzbin.info/www/bejne/i4vNqYCgd9Sjbdk Epilogue (ending with flashes of Hotel California/Jimi Hendricks): kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6rRn4t6m6qhpLs TWO UNIQUE MASTERPIECE PERFORMANCES: The two songs below represent two exceptional performances that perhaps no other band can perform live: Swan Song (with Chopin classical piano intro) kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpSwh6eoq9V9ps0 ; Frozen Serenade: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5aboYSMqpKFhJo CLASSICAL PIANO EP covers/arrangements of Heavy Metal Songs: Interestingly, one of their lead guitarist (Miyako) just released a classical piano EP that covers Metallica (Battery), Gary Moore (The Loner), Yngwie Malmsteen (Far Beyond The Sun), Helloween (Eagle Fly Free), and Deep Purple (Burn)

Thanks for all that great info and links. I'm not sure how long it will take me to work though all this, but I'll do my best! I'm intrigued by the classical piano at the end there. I'm familiar with all of those songs except the Helloween one, which I'm thinking predates when I started listening to Metal. (I seem to remember them being big in the 80s, although their career may have ended up being longer than I'm aware of).

@@DadDaughtersandDrinks Helloween are still active and touring. When they played in Japan last September Haruna and Miyako from LOVEBITES visited them backstage. Cool. This is possibly the most symphonic of their songs, the most directly derived from classical, but there are others. They also have some theatrical stuff (Frozen Serenade), thrash (Thunder Vengeance, Set the World on Fire, think Slayer), some Crue/Priest hard rock (Raise Some Hell), plenty of places for singer Asami to briefly go R&B(Dancing with the Devil, and intros to ballady stuff, Edge of the Workd, Epilogue), and for piano intros to blend classical snippets with original songs’ chords(Empty Daydream), and they have lots of power metal with proggy bits(Holy War), and lots of straight Iron Maidenness (gallops, harmonized lead bits) tying it all together. Miyako (piano/guitar writes the largest portion of the music (tho still perhaps slightly under half), explicitly takes ideas from classical, and also tries to get in a recital of one classical piano solo per big concert. But this is probably the most overt example, yet many people don’t catch that her first guitar solo’s first half is directly lifted from a melody in the preceding Chopin piece. The Chopin wasn’t on the album (tho I think it was referenced in the liner notes), but this vid was from a DVD, so many have heard it back to back but still not (directly/explicitly) caught her little quote, o well Ps. Miho (founder, on bass til 2022) does look less Asian at times to me too; I think it’s just the haircut, and maybe the metal swagger, because closer look at her face, she’s as Japanese as it gets. They are each different types of Japanese, but still, all, very Japanese. Btw, Miyako towers above them, but gets exasperated when asked about being tall. She’s only 5’2”!, but with no one else above 5’, and powerhouse drummer Haruna at a mere 4’9”, the towering thing is not an illusion 😲 The swagger differences are fascinating. Miyako’s calm is partly just reserved Japanese, partly recital culture (she’d been playing piano for 27?years here, but rock for only 10?), and partly gimmicky character play to contrast guitarist Midori who is a bodybuilder and extrovert taunting the crowd, and Miho the head banging metalhead who’d rather put in a show than recite virtuoso stuff

Thanks for all of that great info on the band. And I'm completely shocked that no one is taller than 5'2"! Usually with bands that are smaller I'll pick up on it based on comparison to the size of the instruments, but it completely escaped me.

That was a great reaction! Welcome to the world of Lovebites music. You began your introduction to Lovebites with a surprise, which is so nice to find out after only a few songs. I was so impressed when I found out that Miyako is an amazing piano player. This was a huge surprise. By the way, Miyako can play both the piano and the guitar at the same time. At least it was in one song. These ladies always wear white clothes and high heels. They always play amazing guitar solos and almost always these are duoling solos. And yes, they both lead guitarists and constantly change their roles. You need to try their live videos "Holy war" and "Set the world on fire". You will be impressed. Thank you for the video. More Lovebites on the channel. And welcome to the WolfPack!

LOVEBITES. They are listened not only by metalheads. Ladies came out of their metal genre and have wider spectrum of fans. They play ECLECTIC METAL. It means they blend as the first band in history all kind of metal mainly power and thrash with NWOBHM, heavy metal, symphonic metal, speed metal, hard rock, rock, rock'n'roll, progressive pieces. They mix all with classical music using operatic, A&B, soul and gospel skills of vocalist and grand piano, keyboard and Spanish guitar skills playing. Sometimes they use typical Japanese melodic lines which are included in ENKAs_ melancholy ballads singing by Japanese women. Only their can do it. Obviously they draw a lot from British, German and American metal.

This is an overview of LOVEBITES 55 self-written songs and 3 covers (plus 6+1 covers by band members) with your reaction marked with a star (*). All these songs are great, they have no bad, weak or meh songs, and no fillers at all. Every song is special, you could randomly select a song, best life, of course, and LOVEBITES won't disappoint you. They play many different Heavy Metal styles with a certain LOVEBITES sound, they revive the masters of the 80's (and 90's) in a fresh and modern way. LOVEBITES may have the most talented musicians around, all of them S tier. Drummer Haruna is relentless like a metronome, both Miho and Fami master their bass (for Fami's capabilities, you should visit "Alien Alien" from my list, it's in her KZbin channel will almost 700K subscribers), the dual guitars M&M (for Midori and Miyako) is most certainly the best duo for trading guitar solos and harmonizing, and Asami's voice is stellar with big range, powerful belt and good vibrato. She is also a trained ballerina with exceptional stage presence. One reactor caller her "Stage General", which is perfectly put. Hard, tight, fast, relentless, effortless and clean, that's LOVEBITES. Fasten your seat belt and enjoy your ride!

Miyako, the dark haired guitarist, does most of the backing tracks they use (piano, the Roland is electric btw, and synth's). The intro, Chopin's Revolutionary Etude, is the foundation for the lyrics (written by Asami, the vocalist). They are basically the evolution of their wealth of influences, so that while each song may have a 'vibe' of one, or more, of those influences, the songs are all Lovebites Metal.

Midori and Miyako are duel leads in this band. The focus here is on Miyako because this is "her" song in that she is the highlight of it with the piano parts, guitar, and she also composed it. And yes there was a piano backing track in the middle which Miyako pre-recorded (so it is her playing on the recording). Midori is equally as skilled on guitar as Miyako. Typically the two of them shae in the shredding solos and do harmonized solos. In fact they did a note for note cover of Judas Priest's Painkiller. In all honesty - M&M, as they are called, are as good as Tipton and Downing IMO. You'll see. Do their song Judgement day for something a bit heavier. All of them are Japanese.

I will be seeing the US debut of Lovebites in less than 9 months at ProgPower in Atlanta. In October, 2022 in Dallas, I saw another Japanese band called Band-Maid. I have been going to concerts for almost 50 years (1975 I think) and I have seen some great guitarists live, including Eddie Van Halen in 1979. The female guitarists of these Japanese bands are elite but the best of them might be Haruka Noma (stage name Hal-Ca) of Asterism. The scary part is that she is only 21 and will continue to get better. When I saw her play last year, I soon realized that she could very well be the 2nd best guitarist I have ever seen live, only behind EVH. You definitely need to put Asterism on your list. I suggest a fan cam video of them performing the song Dawn. The video/sound quality is surprisingly good for a fan cam. No way those three bands come and go inch to Lovebites for several reasons. Baby metal is a joke if I want to see a dance routine I’d go check out some K-pop. Night wish is way too operatic and more of a symphonic band yuk. The warning is a hard rock band much better that the first two I mentioned. Lovebites is in a league of their own and if you go down this journey you will understand why
@DadDaughtersandDrinks
@DadDaughtersandDrinks 5 ай бұрын
Yeah, I've described it elsewhere as this: My thinking was - girls that rock on instruments (the Warning), Japanese females (Babymetal, although I realize the Kami band are not female), and Nightwish (classically inspired metal). So it wasn't as much about the actual style or quality as it was what I was expecting to see (as opposed to hear). I disagree about Babymetal being a joke though. I can see not caring about the dancing, but the girls (especially Su) actually can sing well, and the Kami band (especially the East Kami band) are very, very seriously good players. (if you ever see them play outside of Babymetal, they're actually shockingly good). Nightwish is just a style preference, although the idea of classical inspired metal is more what I was thinking. The Warning is clearly stylistically very different, but was the first all girl band that popped into my head. Very very talented, but in different ways than what I saw with this Lovebites song. But I'm glad that Lovebites is different than all of the others. Otherwise, what would the point be?

Excellent reaction. Fellow over the hill rock guitarist here. Midori with the ESP is actually the more technical guitarist. She's a GIT grad. Miyako's primary instrument is piano as she began concert pianist training at the age of three. She picked up guitar in high school. But yes, this song is more focused on Miyako. The all get their chance to shine throughout the show. For more Neo classical, I'd recommend "Frozen Serenade". For a more fun anthem style song, try "Raise Some Hell". For Midori and Miyako just showing off ala Iron Maiden/Judas Priest style, check out "Signs of Deliverance".

The Chopin piece Miyako (guitar/keyboards) is playing in the intro is "Etude OP10, No. 12" known as the "Revolutionary Etude." In 1831, some officers and citizens rose up against the Polish government, which was under the de facto control of the Russian Empire, in what was called the "November Revolution" but ended in failure due to the direct intervention of Russian troops. Chopin received this news during a performance tour. He never set foot on the soil of his homeland again. When the Russians invaded Warsaw, Chopin's agent presented "Etude OP10, No. 12" in Paris. Because of the agent's exaggerated publicity, people called this piece "Revolutionary Etude. Miyako composed "Swan Song" based on this "Revolutionary Etude" and Dvorak's "New World Symphony. Asami (vocalist), a former ballerina, wrote the lyrics based on the historical background of "Revolutionary Etude" and inspired by Norse mythology and the ballet suite "Swan Lake. "SwanSong" is a requiem dedicated to the warriors who fought to reclaim their homeland, a masterpiece that only LOVEBITES could complete.

The latest 2023 live version of "Swan Song", while not favored my many fans because of the instrumental mix, is highlighted by the vocal performance from Asami. She bests her effort in this 2020 version easily, as she continues to work on her English, and as she says, "sing each time as if it will be the last time".

Great review. Your prediction "they are mashup of Warning, Night Wish, and Babymetal" was wrong but your conclusion Judas Pries like is right. If you want use a word "mashup (it is not appropriate to a one in the generation band though)", they can be mashup of great authentic metal bands like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica, and some others like Slayer, Megadeath, etc.. Talking about Neo Classical, the dark haired guitarist/pianist Miyako has covered Yngwie Musmsteen's Far Beyond The Sun on piano as a Chopin style piano etude. Try and enjoy it kzbin.info/www/bejne/aYPdg4Gfn9OUgaM.

Thanks! I said this in another comment about the "mashup" prediction: My thinking was - girls that rock on instruments (the Warning), Japanese females (Babymetal, although I realize the Kami band are not female), and Nightwish (classically inspired metal). So I wasn't really trying to predict the style of music as much as I was what I was going to see. Although they definitely lean (based on this song) much more towards metal than they do Nightwish-like Symphonic Metal. At least, based on the one song of theirs I've heard compared to the three Nightwish songs :-) But based on other comments, it does sound like they're much more pure metal (Judas Priest, Megadeath, etc.) than any other style. And I definitely plan on watching the piano cover of Yngwie. Somewhere around my house I still have a pick he threw in the audience at a small club in Chicago when I saw him probably 30 years or so ago, and Far Beyond the Sun was of course played.

@@DadDaughtersandDrinks Great. I would call Lovebites as a legitimate successor or guardian angels of the authentic metal. Talking about Far Beyond The Sun cover, you must check violin cover by Unlucky Morpheus. They are insanely technical and good too. It is natural to cover Far Beyon The Sun with violin because Yngwie wrote the piece with an inspiration from Paganini's violin concerto. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oqKmgHpqhpt8h8k Enjoy!!

Babymetal is not a metal band. This is a song and dance show in the metal style. The Warning - is more songs guitar and drum than music for listening. Nightwish is a product of popular culture, such as cheap plastic jewelry. Lovebites, unlike the mentioned bands, is a genuine musical jewel. Everything they have released since their inception has been done at the highest world level. The musical content of their studio and concert releases will satisfy any true music lover, and the technical quality of sound and video is at a high audiophile level. They released four LP, four EP and seven live blu-ray's in a relatively short time. And all this is so good, What if they hadn't done anything else, would have gone down in history anyway of world rock and metal music along with other legendary musicians.

Great reaction. Pause as much as you like. We love to hear reactor thoughts. Miyako wrote Swan song based on Chopin's Piano Etude Op. 10 No. 12 and Dvorak's New World Symphony. Asami wrote the lyrics. Each member then works on the arrangement for their part. Midori is a world class guitar player and combined with Miyako form one of the best guitar duos I have heard. Miho does a lot of little thing on bass. Haruna on drums is like a nuclear spark plug. Asami is a natural mezzo soprano who was a trained R&B singer. Miho, Asami and Miyako were the main composers although Haruna and Midori can also compose music. Miho wrote some lyrics but Asami no writes the lyrics. She first writes in Japanese and then translates to English. These aren't always girly girl lyrics. They are metal lyrics. Asami has said, "We're not here to be cute, we're here to be heavy." In concert she scream, "We are Lovebites and we play Heavy Metal!" Yes they do. But they are still kawaii or cute. Miyako has a KZbin channel. She did a premier of her practicing on piano. The piece was Franz Liszt's camping song 'Le Campanella' which requires a large hand to play. Miyako did struggle with that, but as she progressed she got better and better. That's what makes all these bands from Japan so great is they work hard at their craft always striving to improve. It would be a triumph for Miyako if she could play 'La Campanella' live and build a song around it.

if you checked Chopin's Etude & Swan Song without pauses, it would sound even more fantastic to you. sorry, but you made such a huge number of pauses, and in the most inappropriate places. you have deprived yourself of the opportunity to truly “hear” the song

I don't get comments that are worded like this. If someone had never seen or heard a song before, how can they possibly know where is a good place to pause it? Such critical comments are only likely to put people off from reacting to more. A bit of encouragement and appreciation for reacting to the band is likely to go a lot further.
@DadDaughtersandDrinks
@DadDaughtersandDrinks 5 ай бұрын
I get both of your points, and I appreciate both comments. I really do. There are multiple styles of reactions, both with pros and cons. Pausing to give my honest reaction throughout the piece is where I landed, even though I know there may be times doing so may ruin my overall enjoyment of the song. But really, I'm not here to enjoy the song, I'm here to react to it. I can hear/enjoy it without pausing when I listen to it the second time (and beyond). To me, if the song is worthwhile, I'll enjoy the heck out of it the more I listen to it, whether I paused the first time or not. In fact, many/most of my absolute favorite songs are either songs I didn't pause when first listening to it and didn't really like it, and then it just grew on me, or songs I paused the heck out of the first time and still they immediately went to the top of the list. Believe me, I've re-watched this video a few more times already and really enjoyed it! But I get that there are people who really love a song, and the reason they watch reactors is they kind of want to vicariously enjoy watching someone else experience that song for the first time (hopefully experience the same magic), and with lots of pausing it kind of ruins the effect for them. Many reactors will say "If you want to watch it uninterrupted, go watch the original", but I don't think that's why some people watch reactions, just to hear the song again. So I just try to be upfront that I'm a pauser, and that's my style, and if that's not the kind of reaction you're looking for, no hard feelings on my end, and I appreciate they gave me a shot. My main problem as a reactor is that I often forget to mention at the beginning that I'm a pauser, so when it happens to people who weren't expecting it, it's off-putting. So I'll take the blame for not giving the warning up front, and hope to remember the next time.

@@PaulEMoz to understand and feel any piece of music, it is better to listen to it in its entirety. especially if the person has never heard this piece of music. the duration of the song Swan Song is 6 minutes 20 seconds (original video). the reactor paused more than 10 times. if you often stop and talk for a long time during pauses, the integrity of the perception of the song is lost. this is how the human brain works and how it perceives information (song) coming from outside. i understand that sometimes want to say something. 2 - 3 short pauses are acceptable. all people can make mistakes. reactors are no exception. criticism is not a way to humiliate or insult a reactor. criticism is an attempt to help a “newbie” pay attention to the mistakes that it may make. the reactor created its channel in December 2023
@PaulEMoz
@PaulEMoz 5 ай бұрын
@@pilgrim000 It's not a mistake, though. A reactor can react to a video or piece of music however they see fit. It's their channel. If fans of the band don't like the way they do it, that's fine. But to come in and make demands right from the first time they have ever heard the band is, in my opinion, the wrong way to do it, and is more likely to put people off ever watching them again.
@DadDaughtersandDrinks
@DadDaughtersandDrinks 5 ай бұрын
Thanks to everyone for the discussion. @PaulEMoz - thanks for your comments and defense, but to be fair, I don't think @user-bo8uh7zl1t actually made any demands, just an observation, which I'm fine with. I agree with you that I can't know when to pause it or not, and that seemingly negative comments may drive some reactors away, but I won't be one of them. I do find it amusing that anyone would think there's an actual "right" way to react, and that my decisions on how to react are mistakes, as opposed to well thought-out choices (which they are). What is "acceptable" to any given viewer is completely subjective of course; just as subjective as my thoughts on how to react. But I do welcome all comments, and appreciate suggestions on how to make the channel better, even if I don't end up incorporating those suggestions.
