I am an old Spanish wolf, and honestly, I am in awe of these girls, I still remember that distant 1978, when I was waiting in front of the record store for the latest Rainbow or AC/DC album and now, after a thousand years later and with the transformation of heavy metal into something dark, pessimistic, sometimes unpleasant, I find myself with these wonderful women, incredible and beautiful artists, full of sympathy and positive energy, who transmit joy of life and hope, who have filled my heart with joy. I cant stop watching and enjoying them; I have forgotten the old bands with their old musicians who repeat their old songs over and over again; I just want to hear, see and feel these masters of heavy metal music. And special mention to the most beautiful and talented singer in the world, my beloved Asami, the goddess before whose feet I bow.

Midori using the slide bar in the breakdown gives a really eerie and foreboding sound which is appropriate for the subject matter of this song. This is part one of a duology with "Under the Red Sky." Both songs deal with the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. "The Apocalypse" is more about the actual bombing while "Under the Red Sky" deals with finding hope in the aftermath. Both songs feature Midori using a slide, the only LOVEBITES songs to do so. Both songs would be in my LOVEBITES top ten if I were the type to make such a list. As a side note, there's some fake news about the two songs, specifically that they're parts one and three of a trilogy with "Above the Black Sea." While "Above the Black Sea" is a damn good song and does deal with World War II, it has no specific story. Moreover, Asami has said she wrote "Under the Red Sky" as a sequel to "The Apocalypse."

Not sure what "fake news" you're referring to. As to "Above the Black Sea", this is a quote from wiki : "Although the lyrics have no clear story, Asami imagined a Japanese Special Attack Unit when writing." The Japanese Special Attack Units in World War II include the Kamikaze (aircraft) unit. In terms of how accurate wiki is, that's another story.
