LOVEBITES - The Hammer Of Wrath lyrics: What's the worst way to die? Burning to death, or drowning? Everyone laughs in derision There's no hope at all Why is the world rotting away Howling in pain, they slowly die All of the sorrow is murderous The insanity (Burn up) They're calling me (Burn up) It's do or die (Burn up) Get ready for hell (Bring down justice to the wicked) Don't look away from the mistakes Open your eyes, and see the truth When lightning cracks the blackened sky Listen to the screams of distress It's like a bad dream but it's not No way to get out, a living nightmare Bring down the Hammer of Wrath Who will be the next to burn? God only knows the victim Everyone knows they are innocent All the hope is gone In despair they pass away There was no hope to begin with Even the angels are giving up Looking down on us Will this night ever break dawn (Bring down justice to the wicked) SOLO: midori / mi-ya [miyako] What's the worst way to die? Burning to death, or drowning? Everyone laughs in derision There's no hope at all Why is the world rotting away Howling in pain, they slowly die All of the sorrow is murderous The insanity (Burn up) They're calling me (Burn up) It's do or die (Burn up) Get ready for hell (Bring down justice to the wicked) Don't look away from the mistakes Open your eyes, and see the truth When lightning cracks the blackened sky Listen to the screams of distress It's like a bad dream but it's not No way to get out, a living nightmare Bring down the Hammer of Wrath Bring down the Hammer of Wrath SOLO: mi-ya [miyako] ----- lyrics: miho music: miho & Mao arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami) & Mao from Awakening From Abyss 2017

If you guys want to check out something different, Miyako has released her debut piano EP that contains piano covers of famous rock/metal songs. From the EP, there's a video at the Lovebites channel of her covering Helloween's "Eagle Fly Free". Experience how our genius interpreted and rearranged a classic power metal song into a beautiful classical music piece.

No question that music is a very subjective matter. I really love this song and is one of my favorites by them. To me, there’s no need to compose complex songs to sound good. One example of this are The Rolling Stones and AC/DC; their music is really basic but it sounds great (it’s only rock’n roll but I like it). Another example of a simple song by Lovebites is “Dancing with the devil”; a kind of classic rock tune but that I like so much. I think one of the reasons shredding guitar almost died was the abuse of the technique; every guitarist wanted to be the fastest in the universe, so eventually that became boring. I also highly recommend Miyako’s piano version of Helloween’s “Eagle fly free” (on the KZbin Lovebites official channel), released a couple of weeks ago.

I got hooked with this song and with Break the Wall when I discovered Lovebites 3 years ago. I could not believe what I was hearing, I got feelings I hadn't had for many years in metal. Like when I discovered Maiden in the 80s. Perhaps this is the reason why both songs are my favorite ones. Anyways, like Jason, this became very quickly one of my top- metal bands ever, sitting next to Iron Maiden and Metallica. Keep rocking guys! I love watching your reactions of Lovebites

I love this song. The overall sound of it is awesome, and just because they don't go technically overboard on their solos is sort of unfair to make such comparisons. Regarding Painkiller, Lovebites cover is much better than Death's cover (which I love), and actually, I think I like Lovebites version better than Priest's version. No live version of the cover. Other than SiriusXM playing "Judgement Day" and "Dissonance", I think their management team doesn't push them at all, and not even in Japan (so I've been told by those in Japan).
@garykeeling2275 Жыл бұрын
For Painkiller, I think Lovebites edges out Priest instrumentally by just a hair. Vocally, it is pretty close, but I have to go with Rob on that one, but again, just by a hair.
@novrinkov0053 Жыл бұрын
It's not that the management doesn't support them. small offices have limited power and money the Metal genre itself has not become mainstream. especially western countries, only hiphop music is listened to. The only bands that are still popular in the West are bands that have already established popularity. Japan has a truly innumerable number of rock bands. It is a band that has been successful as long as they have been able to hold live concert in japan. Japan has the second largest music market in the world That's why the agency does not actively advertise overseas. It is natural decision to target the domestic market rather than overseas where success is not guaranteed. At least in Japan, the music charts are not dominated by hiphop and R&B. they listen to rock and Metal more than the West.

Nemophila has similar numbers as Lovebites with 37k listeners, and 37k followers. Lovebites got 50k followers, they just need a band to take them on your in the US. I wish that band like Babymetal and Band Maid would take smaller Japanese band with them. But I guess it's different labels, which is not really a problem in the US. Hopefully Lovebites will have an European tour next year, or at least do some festivals, and get the word going. Lovebites need to hire some good PR guys that can do some tic tac and youtube shorts. Look at Hanabie that got 200k listeners on youtube, because of getting some traction on tic tac, and they are touring Europe in August.

Welcome back guys! Thank you so much for this reaction. What you've just said sounds like common sense to me, this is not one of their best songs... even though it's still ok, and their performances on stage - specially Asami's and Miho's - kind of save the day. As a fan, I can appreciate this song and listen to it many times. I'd say about time, experience and growing that, as far as now, I like more the first works of the band than the last album - even though Judgement Day is a fenomenal work, I'm not complaining. It's techinically superior to their previous works, in my opinion. But this is my personal taste and experience with Lovebites so far: the song I like the most is still Shadowmaker! And I'm still in love with Frozen serenade and Break the wall... anyway their journey is still in the begginning, isn't it? Let's see what the future will bring to us. Lobebites forever!!!

Greetings & thanks for more LOVEBITES. My analysis of your reaction & discussion is predicated on the 'flaw' inherent in "random selection reactions". That being the lack of experiencing a band as the band chooses to present themselves. LOVEBITES orders their songs deliberately to build energy, then 'ease up' to allow the audience to absorb comprehension & moderate saturation/exhaustion. I consider "The Awakening>The Hammer of Wrath" as 'introduction', melded together consistently. They open their first full CD release "Awakening From Abyss" and nearly all early performances including Wacken & Bloodstock 2018 with this pairing, a recorded Miyako instrumental 'walk-on' followed by Miho's thrash with several unique transitions featuring her bass & Haruna's drum/cymbal accents. I see the solos as 'teasers' for what is to follow. The video you watched is indeed the 20min-encore opener, then followed by prog>power-metal "Edge Of The World>We The United" for an uplifting finále to an hour&45min show. The "random selection reactions" deprives you of the experience they bring when either listening to a release start-to-finish or seeing a performance beginning-to-end. For me, everything they do is 'ordered-deliberately' bordering on 'metal-opera' formulation. Picking songs at random obscures that 'formula'. The "Trio of Miho" I have and will continue to 'lobby for' begins following 80min, 12-songs that for many bands would have been a complete show with "Glory to the World" as end of main-set, hence the pause prior to Asami's a Capella intro to "The Apocalypse" Keeping in mind this is a performance in the midst of 'the f!@sco of doom' (c0v!d) ... Knowing the subjects of the songs and just reading the setlist for the show can bring an understanding of their 'acknowledgement of challenges' and their 'encourage to self-empowerment' & 'overcoming adversity' known solely to the only people on Earth that have endured, survived & evolved following Atomic devastation. In short, you guys (who I do appreciate) 'get' the music, but have not yet grasped the full 'message-to-humanity' of this band in 'the times' we now all live, worldwide. Be it Atomic-devastation OR fabricated/propagandized bio-warfare/lockdowns coupled with destruction-of-personal-power by gov't/corporate (pharma) decree, LOVEBITES has been a secular 'godsend' 'preaching' reclamation of personal-power to embrace the beauty & wonders of humane-humanity & Earth-life while standing against the arbitrary control & 'dominion concepts' of a relatively few psychopathic-manipulators (empowered by counterfeit-trillion$ forcibly-injected into our labor-based-earnings economy). The eclectic nature of LOVEBITES music/lyrics is inclusive of much of the lessons, the cautionary tales that can help us be aware & prepare for the challenges humanity is faced with in these days of technocracy/kakistocracy. (ubiquitous-corruption breeds malicious-incompetence) Okay, if a bit 'preachy' ... it is Sunday, after all &:-) 🐺Pack dreg👁

I love your candid feedback, as you're in my top 3 list of reactors/reviewers on YT. As the very first song in their first album, this song is a favorite of both the band and the fans, as this was either opening song at Wacken Open Air (Germany) and Bloodstock (UK). Perhaps it's time to explore the depth and breadth of this band's musicianship - especially in the realm of their classical music infused metal that further sets them apart, as well as ballads (with Gary Moore/The Eagles/Jimi Hendricks-type riffs and Mariah Carey-like vocals). 1. Jason's favorite song, Thunder of Vengeance, has a brilliant orchestral cover that demonstrates how they achieved by themselves, what Metallica achieved in combo with the San Francisco Symphony. It's the fourth song on this EP (start minute 15:42 to end kzbin.info/www/bejne/mZvPYZmfhrmpp6c). 2. Since you mentioned their chronology, their Nameless Warrior song/music video chronicles this with snippets of their musical journey: kzbin.info/www/bejne/m6KVg5trnbKDibc 3. Edge of the World, a ballad-of-sorts that can compete with Stairway to Heaven: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i4vNqYCgd9Sjbdk 4. Swan Song (with Chopin intro and other pleasant surprises): kzbin.info/www/bejne/mpSwh6eoq9V9ps0 5. Ballad (with riffs to rival Hotel California with surprise ending)- Epilogue: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6rRn4t6m6qhpLs 6. Miyako's classical piano EP (Miyako Etude Op.23) playlist with her own arrangement/interpretation of 1. Battery (METALLICA) 2. Far Beyond The Sun (YNGWIE MALMSTEEN) 3. Eagle Fly Free (HELLOWEEN) 4. The Loner (GARY MOORE) 5. Burn (DEEP PURPLE) 6. Addicted (LOVEBITES): kzbin.info/www/bejne/kGetiaiwjJ6Zhs0 8. Personally, I had the exact opposite opinion on the guitar solos. The first two were among the best in their entire catalogue, well-thoughjt out and fit what was needed for the song (just shredding for the sake of shredding with no real compositional quality to the solo - which is what we get in thrash solos more often than not - is very overrated), while the last solo was just kind ... meh. But then again, I'm not a huge fan of overdoing the wah pedal, and Miyako does kind of borderline overdo that on occasion. For me, this is one of my top 5 Lovebites songs. Thrashy, but not too thrashed out or abrasive.

If I am subscribed it is that I like mostly your reactions. But not this one. Midori's solo is average? I think a multitude of guitarists would like to play it like her, so easily, quickly, effortlessly and live on stage! We shouldn't always ask them for more given the level that is theirs. I'm 71 and I've seen dozens of gigs, even the biggest bands. None have ever reached the level of Lovebites, not even Metallica for whom I have the greatest respect. If you look at the comments about Lovebites on YT you will see that I am not the only one to say that it is the best band in the history of metal by their creativity, their irreproachable technique, their versatility. To convince you, react to Epilogue, Edge of the world, Scream for me among others. All of this is said without animosity.

Look. They have set the bar so high. That solo vs. the others that we’ve heard from them…..it’s just not as good. Doesn’t mean it’s bad 🤷♂️

Wrong. ORCHID are a good Stoner Rock band. You just need to be in the right “state of mind.” And they have more than one song.

Please finally do Swan Song! It’s one of their most reacted songs and it shows Miyako’s amazing piano playing skills

Main reason why it's falling is because they will not come to United States. I've noticed that. They have millions of fans over here but yet they can't even come and see them that's because of their touring group only allows them to tour around that part of the world. Just like originally for Babymetal and Band-Maid ,things took off for them. Maybe one day they'll change their minds. I think children and husbands also have something to do with it as well.

Not true. The band says they want to come to the USA.

Lovebites haven't toured the US yet, they've done so quite a bit in Europe and parts of Asia. Only Miyako and Midori had attended NAMM back in 2020 in support of their sponsors. Having said that, I think it's only a matter of time before they tour the US.

@@andrewvidmar3488 I'm pretty sure they haven't toured the US yet. As far as I can tell, the current batch of Japanese bands that have already toured (or have announced plans to tour) the US are Nemophila, Band-Maid, BabyMetal and Hannabie. Miyako mentioned in a video that if she could tour overseas now, she would jump on the next plane. I suspect it's domestic commitments of sorts that're keeping her and the band from doing that this year. Or maybe they're slowly easing Fami in and not embark on a hectic overseas tour yet ?

@@boyzyu true i guess that makes sense so for the past 25 yrs i had a top 5 list of metal/rock music and they were 1.Metallica, 2. AC DC, 3 Linkin Park, 4. Aerosmith and 5. Iron Maiden and in the past five years the 2-5 place has dropped out of my list and were replaced by 2. Lovebites 3. Nemophila 4. Band Maid and 5. The Warning metallica will probably always be number 1 because i have listen to them for the last 35 yrs

@@andrewvidmar3488 Yep, that list makes sense to me too. Let's hope Lovebites announce some overseas tour dates for next year soon. BTW, the band is going to announce something today (26 June Japan time). It's all over their social media and they teased with something that starts with "K". Keep an eye on that
