I am 75 year old rocker and seen and done it all but I always cry when I listen to/watch the videos of Lovebites 'Epilogue', 'Empty Daydream' and 'Edge of the World'. I really appreciate the fact that you read and think about Lovebites' lyrics - they are so positive, uplifting and life-affirming.

I think that the metal scene is dominated by males isn't a problem in itself, but that everyone just wants to be dark and edgy. Not gona lie, I was the same a long time ago, but as I get older I prefer more positive and uplifting messages or just same nice fantasy or fairy tale poetry in my metal music. There is enough negativity in the world.

Maybe time to learn the names of these women who change lives for the better in a dark time. For me, the last line of Glory to the World comes as close as word-language can say it, "Nothing more precious!" Miho, bass/leader/co-founder/backing voice/lyrics & music; Haruna, drums/co-founder/lyrics & music; Midori, guitar/backing voice/lyrics/music & confidence; Miyako, guitar/backing voice/piano/music & seriousness; Asami, vocals/piano/lyrics & music. "Amazing people" Yes! Another name that must be mentioned is Mao Yamamoto, friend-of-LOVEBITES who contributes significant music, including 'Edge of the World' and 'We The United'. That audience just had an hour & 45 minutes with those five women pouring their hearts & talent out for them, and US. Now you may understand better the 'allegiance' of those of us who have "an ongoing experience" through LOVEBITES presence in our lives. May LOVEBITES be as uplifting and encouraging in your 'circle' as they are in mine.

LOVEBITES - We The United lyrics: The silent dawn has been broken Our fate has now been decided for good Innocence can never be regained Blissful ignorance turns into guilt and shame We must first learn to give and understand That no one is able to live alone There is no need to be perfect Everyone has their own problems and faults Everything is indispensable, Every person is worthy and valuable Don’t give up on your life, fight for what’s right Live on and keep searching for answers We shall go forth Prideful, we stand united We can create miracles Always, there is a way Humans are greedy and selfish Wanting attention more than the respect Recognize the pain that others hide Have the strength to fight even for someone else People who’ve never made real enemies Have never stood up for what they believe We shall go forth Prideful, we stand united We can create miracles Always, there is a way Always, I will be here Always, we will be there ----- lyrics: asami music: Mao arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami)

Good reaction. Always get tears looking at this performance. So much interaction between them and with the audience. Love Asami’s voice. She writes great lyrics. Haruna, the drummer is so cute but a beast on the drums. Miyako, the black haired guitarist is a cool metal godess. Midori and Miho are great guitarists. One of my favorite performances. The end of the concert “five of a kind” . Thank you for this reaction.
@fastskipper777
@fastskipper777 3 жыл бұрын
Regarding no emotion from Miyako (lead g on right), actually she is a very nice and lively person and smiles easily -> go see her on her official channel. She is a classically trained pianist since age 3. In fact, she was trained as a concert pianist although she didn't go that route (her parents bought her a grand piano at around age 9 IIRC - she still uses it). If you know anything about piano, the difference between an upright vs grand is huge. When you go grand, you are really serious or have money. I know, because I dated such a person in the past. Miyako only started on guitar at age 18 (yeah guitar is her 2nd inst., and she can also play bass and drums). And she majored in music education in the Univ. and actually has a BA in Music Education (she can be a teacher). If fact, she thought she was going to be a music teacher. So, she is a serious classical musician. Why I am saying this? Because, classically trained musicians don't show emotions on stage. Go watch any of the millions of videos on youtube on classical performances and see if anyone shows emotion. (Yes, Midori - lead g on left - also learned piano since age 2 but she did not major in music like Miyako). So, knowing some background is useful in understanding. In an interview, Miyako said that she was overwhelmed and felt emotional several times during this concert and almost felt crying, because she was so happy. (Watch her eyes again during her solo on "Edge of the World"). At foremost, Miyako is a serious musician and does not really show emotion and is usually hyper concentrating during their performances. But, I would not dare say she is emotionless, just listen to her guitar.

Let me explain my comment more. I have read before that she was classically trained from early childhood and the discipline that was most likely instilled when playing. I wasn't saying that she was as a person emotionless, just in most of the songs I have seen she is so focused which is great. It was just awesome to see her beautiful smile. It was not an insult towards her.

One of my favorite parts of this song is Miyako's smile after the hi-five. She isn't emotionless as some people seem to think. I think her training in classical music affects how she shows emotion on stage. Just listening to her guitar, you know she feels deeply :-) But that smile, oh my god! And the energy! I watched this concert DVD in full just yesterday and was struck by the amount of energy they retain for this final song after 1 hour and 40 minutes of playing full on already. It's amazing, a must see if ever given a chance.

The five-of-a-kind concert was phenomenal, this was the last encore song right after Edge of the World, one hour and fifty minutes of pure awesomeness with a total of 19 songs. The tightness and sync harmonies they showed even, in the end, are impeccable. Yes many of us have told you from the very beginning about the lyrics to their songs, they carry strong moral concepts, true life-giving encouraging messages. This lies with 90% of their songs and it is all beautiful and inspiring. there is no darkness in these amazingly beautiful ladies, and yes in my book they are far more superior than all the rest in so many ways and formats. It does takes some several songs to realize the integrity and power they have over their fans, not only with their outward beauty but most importantly inward beauty and their amazing talent.

To be honest, I still don't know why the four instrument members chose Asami as the vocalist. She had no knowledge of metal and had never listened to any metal songs. From a common sense point of view, you should choose a vocalist of hard rock or metal band. They must have felt something about Asami. As you might expect, there have been criticisms of Asami's non-metal vocals from the beginning. Asami also consulted with the band members about whether he should change his singing style from a metal point of view. However, members have protected her from such criticism, supported her and encouraged her to stay as she is. After a few years, Asami gradually became recognized as LOVEBITES's vocalist. The lyrics of this song were written by Asami herself, and it sounds like a call for solidarity among the people of the world, but I think it also expresses her feelings towards her band and fans.

Not sure what to recommend next after this one. You're not going to find better lyrics than in this song. Maybe "Winds of Transylvania" since it is one of their newest songs. Lovebites was chosen by the Vladlove anime developers to create the theme song for their show. WoT is the shows opening theme song and has some of the best shred and squeal sounds I have ever heard. The lyrics were written for the anime show, which is about vampires and blood, so don't expect the typical positive message in them.
