amanda kenya Emma just barged into Reginas life TAKING her son away. Emma GAVE little Henry away and made it clear that she NEVER wanted to meet or see him. She has no right to take him away from Regina. All Regina ever did was tried to love, it always led to lost. Sure, she was the evil queen but that’s only because Snow got Regina’s fiancé killed. If it were you, you would’ve done whatever it takes in order to keep your son right? That’s exactly what reginas doing.

@@donteharrison1363 _Somebody_ had to take him away from Regina, Regina was a monster and a terrible mother. She mistreated Henry, abused him mentally, and was guilty of mass murder, rape, torture and many other ghastly crimes, and no, it was _not_ just because she lost Daniel. A lot of it was power lust. Emma did not 'just barge in and take him', she tried to return him to Regina after he ran away (with good reason!), and if Regina had simply behaved decently, that would have been the end of that. But Regina was too evil, and too out of control, and she gave herself away and left Emma afraid for Henry's safety and well-being, with good reason. The idea that Regina was just a scared loving mother who was mistreated is nonsense, wishful thinking.

@Anime JT Cora is probably crueler and more evil inside, Regina probably did more overall harm. OTOH, Regina is the way she is in large part because Cora raised her that way.

@amanda kenya there actually very much was a reason LOL but you're right, you have to live out that karma. Everything always comes back. And that's her entire point. She knows that she's done entirely too much to repay for. It will take ALOT before she's back in fate's good graces again. But she's trying to change NOW. She's trying to resist NOW. That pain of hopelessness, to know that no matter what you do, you'll never escape your mistakes, you'll never be better, you'll never be able to move on because life will keep smacking you down. To know that there's no such thing as redemption, only punishment. And you can't even go back to evil and at least live with that now because you have too much to lose on the other side. That feeling is.....unimaginable.....

I love how Emma is still trying to comfort her and says things like “I believe in you“ even after everything Regina did to her and her family…I love how she gave her a chance and even started friendship with her to give her a happy ending. Without Emma she would be alone and lost tbh

This is one of the best scenes in the entire show, one of Lana's best-acted scenes. It finally addresses the issue of Regina's past actions, at times the show seemed like all that had been forgotten, here we see her finally facing up to the terrible reality of her own past choices and actions. Regina wasn't just a villainess. She wasn't just bad, she was a mass murderess, a torturer, a poisoner, a child-killer, a tyrant, she murdered entire towns, slaughtered whole families. Even once she's sorry afterward, that stuff doesn't go away. It's _her_. Plus, we see her admit that the nasty impulses are still there. Unfortunately, atfter this AWESOME scene, we get the moronic 'jekyl serum' plot undercutting it... :grrr:

She must have been in her early 20’s when everything happened w/ Daniel, then she spent ~10 years trying to kill Snow, and then 10-11 more years in Storybrooke. Sooo...maybe forties??? I know Lana is 42, but that doesn’t really matter XD

@@VorpalSpider69 She was probably _at least_ 30 when she cast the Curse. After that, they spent 28 years in Storybrooke with time frozen. So Regina can't be much less than 60 in canon, maybe a little more.

Sierra Aboulhassni - No, they were _not_ written that way. When you look at the incidents the SwanQueen shippers like to point out as examples of their 'true love', almost every single one is taken at least somewhat out of context, and they simply _ignore_ the huge amount of canon that goes against it. Both Regina and Emma are consistently shown as straight. Regina's first love was Daniel. When she decided to take a sex slave, she chose Graham. On the day she met David she found him attractive, commenting that she could 'see the allure' that appealed to Snow White. Her second great love was Robin Hood. Emma's first love was Neal Sr. When she came to Storybrooke she too was attracted to Graham, then she was torn between Neal Sr. and Hook for a while before finally choosing Hook. There was never even a _hint_ of anything other than first enmity, then a mix of friendship nd rivalry, between Emma and Regina. The real doubt in S2 and S3 was not whether Emma and Regina would get together, that was never in the cards. The issue was would it be Neal Sr. or Hook, and that went on throughout S2 and into S3.

Sierra Aboulhassani - If you cherry-pick an item out of context here and there and ignore the rest, you can 'prove' pretty much anything. I could 'prove' that David and Hook are both robots from the planet Altair IV that way, probably. I could almost certainly use that technique to 'prove', say, that David and Regina are in love with each other behind Snow's back (EvilCharming) or that David and Hook are each other's true loves behind Snow and Emma's back (Captain Charming). Any 'ship can be 'proven' that way. But the canon remains what it is, and SwanQueen was never canon, and was never going to be canon.

Actually, no. Given my preferences, I'd have rather seen them pair Emma up with Baelfire/Neal. I can live with it being Hook, and that's absolutely canon, but it's not my preference. The only place Emma and Regina were written as lovers or potential lovers was AU fanfic and shipper wishful thinking. People can ship anybody they want, and do, but most of the ships don't try to pretend they are canon, for some reason the SwanQueen shippers do, in defiance of what we saw on TV.

OH FUCK I JUST REALIZED SOMETHING: *_REGINA IS THE MOTHERFUCKING DEMOGORGON!!!!_* In D&D/Forgotten Realms, the Demogorgon/Sibilant Beast is the two-headed demon lord who lives in the Abyss/Gaping Maw. It has two heads, both of which are constantly trying to destroy each other, much like Regina and the Evil Queen after Regina took the Hyde serum. (His two heads have individual personalities- Aameul, the left, and Hethradiah, the right). The thing is, they can’t, bc they’re a part of the same being. After the whole incident with Daniel, Regina’s state of mind was ripped in half- one feeling anger at Snow/Cora over the tragedy, and the other trying to reason that blaming Snow is wrong. Much like Aameul and Hethradiah, Regina and the Evil Queen can’t kill each other- if one dies, then the other dies. Then Regina has her whole epiphany about letting sleeping Demogorgons lie, and learning to love herself again- and we see this when Regina takes both their hearts, and infuses them with both of their energies. Aaaaaacdhchrfhfuvhjn I love this show so fucking much❤️

Emma did not mean to sound patronizing or sound like she understood her when she did not. I think Emma was doing what she can to comfort when but she feels like she can’t say anything that will help her with the overbearing pain of her past crimes and even now wanting to commit evil even though she doesn’t want. It’s like Regina said, she could of forgiven Snow for telling her secret but chose to commit heinous crimes :(. She feels irredeemable but she’s not. she’s a good person but also someone with so much guilt
