Actually, I'm kind of relieved that she got booted off of American Idol. From my own observation, there's more famous and talented Idol finalists who didn't win than ones who did win. Kelly Clarkson is one of the exceptions. But Haley Rhinehart, Clay Aiken, Chris Daughtry, Adam Lambert, Jennifer Hudson, etc., show that just because you didn't win the contest doesn't mean you're doomed to obscurity.

If you watch the Sascha Peres kzbin.info/www/bejne/hX_PhXeOqbmerdU , forward to 13.50 to geet to Haley. She sings I'm A Fool To Want You , and then No Regrets (English version of the famous Edith Piaf song). The duet with Thomas Dutronc, If You Go Away, is posted under just his name, and doesna come up if you search under Haley's name. kzbin.info/www/bejne/n36wpYiuos-njrc These particular songs seem to have been missed by many Haley fans as there are few views, but they are so, so good that they deserve so much more appreciation - and they would get it from her fans who have not disovered these gems.

@miguel83759 жыл бұрын
***** Here is how someone explained it four years ago: "Haley's strength, in addition to the incredibly rich rasp in her voice, which makes her very uncommon by itself, is really a combination of many things: -- She is pitch perfect all the time -- She has above average range in her chest register -- She has a very powerful voice -- She has a decent lower register which is super sexy, as long as she isn't trying to live there -- She has a great head voice which gives her another octave of very usable notes -- She has a whistle tone which is one of the best I have ever heard -- She can yodel -- She can growl -- She can TRILL FFS. NO ONE does this well, but Haley does it perfectly -- I think I have even heard her do a little throat singing, though I'm not 100% on that. And here's the real kicker. She moves between all of these modes effortlessly. The average person wouldn't even notice the transition its so smooth. It's like there is a master pianist in her throat playing her vocal chords like there is no tomorrow. I've never heard anything like it. On top of having possibly the most versatile and controlled voice I have ever heard, she also has an excellent sense of what works, emotionally musically to make people feel, and that's just a gift you can't quantify. Basically, you like her voice because she's f*cking AMAZING!" Someone asked what a trill was and he replied... "A trill is an extremely quick alternation between two adjacent notes. Any decent pianist can do it on a piano. Very few people can do it with their vocal chords. Its a little like a vibrato, but the notes are clearly distinct and separated exactly by a tone or semitone. See the live version of "You've Really Got A Hold On Me". The last 15 seconds she goes into a trill. Right after that she fluidly goes straight into this yodel that's like, she's picking through a basket of wonderful notes, tossing them left and right, searching for the perfect one. Then, she finds it. She picks it up and just hangs it out to dry. I was a big fan of her's before this moment, but after she did that I was like, 'She did NOT just do that!?!'"

Baxx282 probably because you didn't recognize the jazzy nature of her voice. she has a very unique timbre that fits into jazz like a glove. also you must have missed top 8 results night where she sang moanin' with casey because that would convert anyone...! :P

HaffSack well she is also old and a harp wouldn't destroy it that much. Besides at least she is sacrificing for her passion and not a job she hates.

Absolutely.. This songs belongs to Haley!
@ucanthandel9 жыл бұрын
Josselyn Del Valle Tovar Actually all songs belong to Scott Bradlee.. They wouldn't even exist without him. :-D I used to think quite alike (like most people do nowadays).. Identify songs with the singers... Today I think different. :-)
@cokecola19829 жыл бұрын
Andy Jäger Her style is unique... Of course I understand author rights!
@ganasde659 жыл бұрын
Andy Jäger It's a symbiotic relationship. Haley's Creep cover wouldn't have gotten 5 million views without her singing it.
@geofox849 жыл бұрын
Of course credit should be given where credit is due. Scott Bradlee is PMJ and we'd all be lost without him. But she brings herself into every song she sings. She's amazing, her live performances are always different; she understands how to interpret music, especially in a throwback style; and she always manages to put her mark on the song, which has been one of her greatest strengths going all the way back to her AI audition. Don't get me wrong, Haliens all over will be forever grateful to Scott for allowing her to perform on a stage that fits her so perfectly. But we do like seeing her in the spotlight.
@ucanthandel9 жыл бұрын
I know what you mean. I didn't mean to degrade her or anything. It's just that Scott arranged the whole piece in this way and probably even thought about her when creating it. It's just the perfect frame for her to fill - and she does that 100%. ;-)

Me either. These folks are my favorite. Someone once told me there are bots that thumbs down a video automatically to prevent it from getting a certain ratio. Something to do with advertising money etc. Sounds a little conspiratorial to me but I don't have any other explication. Man I love these guys.

Both versions are great. I like this one slightly more because she successfully turns a Europop classic into a Frank Sinatra style which is incredibly hard to do without butchering.
