song 3 is scum, hum the chorus along with the drum beat, the chorus fits perfectly in between the drum fills.

I love how the vocals sound for its golden hour somewhere

I really love how "It's Golden Hour Somewhere" is coming along! It sounds like it's going to be this EP's "The Fall." And I really like how they're going with more distorted and overdriven guitar tones, as opposed to the cleaner sound they did with Pebble Brain (which is still really nice, since you don't hear clean guitar in too many rock songs anymore.) And I also really like how the bass is seemingly less trebley than their first two EPs. I've heard that a lot of Music Man Stingray players turn the treble knob up way too high, and I'm glad Ash isn't doing that as much on here. All in all, this EP sounds like it's really coming along well! Can't wait to hear it!

the snippet that plays around 1:41 sounds a lot like main character syndrome that lovejoy had scrapped

I agree it could be a part of main character syndrome. When i attempting was singing along along on my first listen, I didn't know which one it was.

@@Drittsekk0246 really? that's interisting cause I'm hearing the start of MCS lol. (specifically not the very start, but after 8 seconds of intro) It probably is golden hour, but if it is MCS, I think that when Ash stops playing and looks up, thats when the lyrics of the song start. "You wake up in cold sweat, crave dissapointment..." Now, I'm not actually matching the melody to the song. I'm thinking/(mainly hoping) this because I'm matching the lengths and the key (barely a musician, but it sounds right). I tried singing the guitar part that that comes in at the 8-second mark MCS draft over the top, and it fit perfectly. Also, this is all only really possible if they actually rework the song, which I assume they probably will. It was scrapped for a reason :(, but they'll probably rewrite much of it, and this could be the rewritten intro. Damn this is long.

I really like Lovejoys more dark songs, like Golden Hour, concrete, and The Fall. They always have the most gratifying payoffs of any of their songs, the GH and The Fall especially. I think it’s primarily because of Will’s ability to write really spiteful, bittersweet songs like the original (aka the better) version of Its All Futile. This songwriting skill elevated by the amazing guitar Melodie’s, the driving bass, and the pummeling, energetic drums taking these ideas and elevating them to unreal heights. Neat little band we’ve got here.

0:46 seems like it might be 'Scum', it sorta sounds like it'd line up with the "i'm scum, i'm waste, i'm one" part

It totally does! Also, in previous snippets of Scum, the bass plays an F during this part. However, in recent snippets Wilbur has played it transposed a whole note down, making the F an E flat, which is the bass being played in this snippet. Long conspiracy short, it fits.
