I'm sure that they mute in the hospital common areas due to HIPPA privacy laws. That's absolutely reasonable.

@@CoolHandLouis I agree. That’s reasonable, but I’ve seen many police cams being shut off while officers are on scene & talking with other cops. The only time they should be shut off is when they’re in the restroom or on private phone calls, never during active duty. Good cops have nothing to hide! (Just my thoughts!)

@@pops55650 You mean editing of evidence is allowed but regulated. However an unredacted version is still available and a court can order it to be produced in evidence. Be she wouldn’t accept his “help”. His drip drip drip (talking talking talking) annoyed her. She literally tried to walk away from him, away from the road. I feel she may be autistic because although she spoke in rhyme she was also capable of making total sense and follow directions. The rhyming was coping for her rising anxiety. They should have left her alone and maybe just watched a bit. Cop wasn’t having it was he wanted to “help”. So now she’s been “helped” right. Sigh. Doesn’t it just make u so angry. She will be taken to a hospital she’s probably been in a hundred times and then she has to find her way back to wherever it is she goes….there won’t be any “help” then unless an;ther cop sees her and wants to give a new brand of help. Circle.

This went way wrong. The 2nd officer was amped a bit as soon as he arrived. I'm glad the 1st officer intervened when she was hit and immediately called a supervisor. Although she had been in the street when police arrived she was just walking along singing her song. They should have had a chat and just left her alone. I kinda liked her even in her state she had valid points. The 2nd officer was triggering her especially when he swiped her song from her, without explaining why or asking her for it first. I was surprised and disappointed in the nurse and doctor for not advocating for her after finding out she got punched in the face while there. That doesn't negate her actions of assaulting the cop whatsoever and she deserves the charge she got for it. But he came there asking for their help, reactively assaults a patient in their immediate care, and they do or say nothing?! Nurse wasn't going to tolerate the language, but police assaulting her patient was apparently quite tolerable.

THIS is why they should’ve left her be. Now they’re trying to dump her off at a hospital and they don’t want her. They say “take her to jail”. He says “we don’t have anything to charge her with”. Anyone going to address the way this was being twisted IMMEDIATELY by Hobbs and King. Hobbs states they have nothing to take her to jail for to hospital staff. She asks what her charges are and tells them to let her go- Hobbs doesn’t respond because there are no charges. Hobbs then makes it sound like he was just a little aggressive with her. King says to go find the staff that was spat on to see if they want to press charges. And then, muted body cams……… Officers should not be permitted to mute. What is the point of body cams if the very people they are holding accountable have control of what is and isn’t seen and heard. None of this needed to happen. The police escalated this and then assaulted her. A press release says that his superiors are “proud” of Hobbs. Funny, the fact that they are “proud” of someone who witnessed a ridiculous interaction to begin with and then witnessed this “officer” essentially do things to agitate Ms. Hall until he didn’t like her reaction and who then LIED about what actually happened because……? Because why?? Maybe instead of praising Hobbs, they should be asking why he pussy footed around the truth- despite knowing there was body cam.

The first one was pestering her hoping for a reason to arrest. His partner shows up and took over with pestering her. He took every opportunity to poke the bear. Well, I am going against popular opinion on this one. The initial stop was based on her walking in traffic. She was also intoxicated. Once the police respond, it is their responsibility to ensure she isn’t a danger to herself, or others. Had they let her be and left and she would have gotten run over and killed, the officers would have been liable. This is why the stop was made. Regarding the incident with the officer punching her in the face. This one is tricky. She spit in his face, which is considered assault. Does that mean he had the right to give her a right cross to the face? Absolutely not. In fact, the department actually terminated this officer. Kudos to the department for releasing the video in order to be transparent as well as taking the appropriate actions against this former officer. Who did she hurt? This makes me so damn angry. 🤣🤣🤣 after he pat her down at the hospital she said “aww that’s it….I was open to a lil more”. God I want to be her friend 🤣 OH MY GOD. He punched her. He actually punched her. Jesus. She has no one to help her sue. She could get a home of her own.

I felt really bad watching how these police officers treated this lady. I grew up in Morocco where there is a long tradition of venerating these type of characters. People who roam the streets spewing wisdom in rhyme and sorrow, we actually collected their oral poetry and built tombs for them after they died.

It’s incredible the difference between a good cop bad cop caught in the very same video. Officer Hobbs was respectful and continuously tried to de-escalate the situation and speak respectfully and calmly to Miss Hall, Maranto couldn’t hold his temper even though he knew he was obviously speaking/dealing with someone who had mental issues and actually hit her across the face while she was in handcuffs. But what I really respected officer Hopps for most of all was when he was talking to the senior officer who asked him what happened and he was completely honest, especially when the senior officer asked about her kicking and was she trying to kick anyone and Officer Hobbs said no, she was just kicking out in general. He could’ve slanted the story and said that she was trying to kick Maranto but he was completely honest about what happened instead of trying to protect a fellow officer. That’s an example of the kind of police officer we need a lot more of.

Oh my god, this is so horrifying to watch. She wasn't bothering anyone. And then another police man shows up and has to cuff her and take her away. It's obvious she was mentally challenged in some way, and the hospital staff wasn't even prepared for that. How did those people get their degrees. No bed side manners, or patience either. Obviously the woman was feeling provoked. I would have too. Then the policeman jerked her music papers away. That really was so childish. And in her upset state of mind that really set things off. I understand she spit on him, but I was in total shock that the policeman punched her. Obviously he is very young and also doesn't have the temperment to be a policeman. I am glad to see in another video that he was released from his job. And I hope he doesn't just go to another jurisdiction or state and be a cop there. He needs to find a whole new job doing something else. I hope the woman is ok and getting care she needs. May God bless her.

Horrified! What the Hell? I had worked as a nurse in a Level One Trauma Center/ED 12 years before I ran into a police officer who thought he was right in every way and couldn’t control himself. It was the worst time in my life. I Was driving a rental car that had darker tinted windows , I had told my husband before I left the house it looked like a shady car and if my car wasn’t ready in the next few days I wanted to trade it in. The car also had out of state license plates. I was leaving a restaurant when I was pulled over in a area that couldn’t really be seen clearly from the road. I was pulling out my license and registration when the my door jerked open and the officer had a gun pointed at me. He had me get out of the car , he searched me while shoving/ pushing me and being aggressive with me. Yelling at me. I was so confused. At that point in my career I worked with the police often , almost every shift so to have this happening was a shocking and scary to me. He had squeezed my arms ( bruised them) and kicked my legs ( bruised them) . When he got me near his car I noticed there was another officer there on a motor cycle there watching. He waved that officer off and said he was good. That officer left me with that freak! At that point I started crying and just going off and yes fighting back. Not much of a fight , for me anyway , he locked me in the back of his car . He went to search that DAMN RENTAL CAR. to this day I believe it’s that damn car that started it all. He didn’t believe it wasn’t my car until he got into it. Of course he returned emptied handed. I was hysterical. So these officers telling her she isn’t nice and blah blah blah you have someone take complete authority over you sometime , see how u like it. And I’ll add the nurse while setting boundaries , completely picked the wrong time to do. What a novice. Love they put a combative pt on a GYN table and that nurse thinks she is going to sit on her ass and Yak at this out of control women. Has anyone ever regained control by being told how nasty and mean they are and pointing out how out of control they are. The nurse watches her pt get punched and doesn’t advocate for her Pt once BOO!! So my story. He gets in the front the car. At that time asks for a blow job. 😮 oh yah. I tell him where I work , what I do and I can’t believe this is happening. This is like a cold shower. I believe he thought I was transporting drugs. Up until that moment , he now is looking thru my wallet. I’ll speed this up, he charged me with DUI. no tests . Just his word. Straight to jail. No blood draw , no breath analysis . When I was released the next day. I hired two lawyers. He caught wind of my complaints. He came to my house in the middle of the night and arrested me again. He pulled me out of my house and drove around with me in his car threatening me. He eventually went to the station. He the added the charge of alluding , a felony. Upping the stakes and the costs of everything . When we were done he drove me to a parking lot , he parked and explained again that I should just let things go and the felony would go away. Did I mention he called my work and told them I threaten him ?? I lost my job and had to go before the board. All was investigated and I was found to have no fault with the nursing board. ( thank God). So what happen? I was terrified. I suffer from PTSD. the stress of all this and fear I was a mess. I wanted to move. Be in witness protection!! I dropped my complaint. I couldn’t afford a felony trial , I didn’t have a job and had to wait on the board. He ( the cop) knew exactly what he was doing. It goes on all the time. Too much power and authority. I do appreciate the Chief fire this lunatic. Likes to hit defenseless women… they deal with out of control People all day long , just as a nurse does. It has to become second nature.
