As a ranger of 5+ years, most of the "ranger horror" I've seen is laughable, but some of this stuff really creeps me out. And before anyone asks, yes, I've seen some rather strange and unexplainable stuff. Most everyone in this field has at least one story if they stick with it long enough, but most new recruits leave the field within 1-2 years. Not for nefarious reasons, but rather just that few people seem to understand what this line of work actually entails, and advancement can be difficult.

Search and Rescue Woods by Kerry Hammond it is full of lots of unexpected disturbing things like the staircase . I got really into that at one stage. And I'd feel bad not to mention that a bunch of real life rangers/ search and rescue folk and other assorted experts have come out and more or less universally deemed it rubbish. This was a guy, keep in mind, who believes in big foot so much that he claimed to have gotten real big foot blood. If you haven’t watched it… and you like weird low to mid-budget horror… this is more than worth your time. Also, if you’re into the missing 411 thing, it’s not about that specifically… It sorta offers a very creative, creepy and specific answer for it. Either way, it’s fun and a lil freaky… and doesn’t do what/go where you’d expect. In fact, this trailer auto-playing reminded me that I need to watch it again. There’s enough depth here to warrant a second look watch.

Fun fact thousands of people don't go missing in national parks annually and are never found. Roughly only 1600 people have been lost and never found. Another fun fact over 312 million people visit said parks annually which means you're far more likely to go missing outside a patk 😂

Exactly. Also, the majority of those disappearances aren't "unexplained." They're very easily explained. It's extremely easy to get lost in the wilderness. Add getting injured to that and it's a pretty strong likelihood that you're going to go missing.

That thumbnail shot is truly scary. I don't understand what I'm looking at, but there's a lot of pointy parts like hair mixed with a porcupines quills and it's full of blood with something coming off the top of the head. And what makes it so scary is a grkm, unrecognizable thing on top on a human body which is the only thing we recognize.
