Just returned from Portugal…loved it. Started off with two days in Lisbon and then on to a cruise on the Douro River to Porto and spent 4 days on Porto…but u have tempted me to go back and spend more time in Lisbon. Thanks for sharing your holiday with all of us. Portugal is beautiful with its vineyards, old churches, countryside and the people.

So touching how the dog went from scared to happy/trusting and tail wagging. If you decide to have another dog, you would be an ideal mum for a little rescued sweetheart, as have such a connection and empathy with animals, and could make them feel safe and loved again.

We were there in June but was way too busy as they have a festival for the whole month, but still great. Hope you got to listen to the traditional Fado music❤. We had a great local tuc tuc guide who was fabulous and although expensive, was worth it. Agree that the number 28 is a bit over hyped. We stayed in Alfama, so enjoyed seeing it all again, yes the hills are so so steep!

We love Lisbon. Went to excellent hotel Santa Justa, not far from the elevator. They have the best restaurant as well where if you are client of the hotel you get 10% and free fado most nights. The tram is too crowded and you could share big tuck tuck. Love your blog!

I Lindy hop dance, and they have dance weekends all over Europe.You have inspired me to get to one.I've never been away on my own, but I know they are very friendly, so i'll get to one in the new year.. I lost my little Jack Russel (16) same time you lost Jack. I got a Romanian rescue 6 weeks ago, after saying I couldn't bear to have another dog, and she is absolutely wonderful. Born in a field, and lived the first year of her life on the streets. I expected a few problems, but she has been a dream.I know it's such a commitment, but I hope you do get yourself a little doggie in the future. xx

The noise from the upstairs rooms was horrendous so I will always go for top floor in old buildings now. I had to move a 3rd time because I had left the hotel to travel somewhere else and then come back for one night. It's effortless really when you have a 10 day stint! How ridiculously busy was it though?! Madness. x

great vlog.. we were there the weeks before you. Went to many of the same places as well. But we golfed 5 times as well. Tuk tuk is very uncomfortable. lol. We had a great driver. Didn’t bother with the tram and now i am glad about that. We had a food tour one night that was fantastic. Heard Fada music in one stop.

Which glasses? Sorry, I have many but I probably don't know what colour the lenses are as they never tell me what they've put in!!! I'll do my best if you tell me which ones as I took several with me. The big ones were just bog standard sunglasses glass. x

@@AlternativeAgeing I did realize after I made the comment/question that you had at least 4 different glasses on😊 The ones that I am referring to are bit of a lavender shade. I love your glasses and your style. It makes me happy and I find myself getting more creative. I am a creative person ( not to toot 🥳my own horn), but I have let other people squash me. I’m 62 and at 50 ( on Valentine’s Day…not my choice) I had double mastectomy because of my stage 4 breast cancer. And I was not a candidate for reconstructive surgery because of the lymph nodes removed. Long story, sorry. But after all of that I am learning to live. And I’m still here! Thank you my beautiful friend ( I feel like you are a friend, you are comforting)! 🥰

Oh no Joyce. Wish you better soonest. I have no idea about the plates in Lisbon as I didn't shop for those but they are everywhere! There was one near the Brasilia cafe down the side street towards the river. The private tuk tuks are very expensive, like £120 for an hour and a half. Too much. But there are free walking tours and cheaper ways of doing it for sure. Glad you like Desigual. x

One thing I’ve never mastered is holidaying alone - I find it soul-destroying: no-one to say “ooh look at that” to or show something funny to - you just wander aimlessly about, eat alone with no-one to share your dish with, then go to bed. And I’m always hyper-vigilant that everywhere I go there are couples. Hate it. So admire you. Lovely vlog. x

No, what you have is 'fear' of being alone, your just a scared baby who can't go anywhere without your teddy.I see that with adults, the way they cannot do anything on their own, and it is so sad, couples are so sad and boring, and missing out in the real joy and freedom of life, being alone and doing whatever you want and answering to no one. Try it with little things first, like having a coffee by yourself, going to the cinema, build it up and soon you will find the real joy of life and grow as a person and bring the baby you with you, write in a notebook, online etc till you are braver, good luck.

Yes, it won't be totally fresh although I did eat fish on a Monday and was absolutely fine! I had the most delicious dish I've ever had and went back 3 times! Salmon ceviche in a crusty finger shape with white chocolate and lime drizzled on the top. It was just awesome. Ihave to find the recipe! x
