A moderate sized town by midwestern standards. Cozy, friendly atmoshpere. With a Walmart and locally owned grocery store with several mom and pop owned eateries. Felt nice here, weather was nice and the sun was bright and shinning.

My mom grew up there, my dad was from nearby Indianola. I lived there for a year in 76. My 2nd grade teacher at East Ward was actually my grandmother's neighbor! I used to go back there for years to see family, but all have died or moved away. Lots of great memories tho!

They say you can never go back home. All the good memories faded into sadness when I went back where I grew up. Likewise, everyone I knew either died or moved away a long time ago. Time is fleeting. I hope to visit more small towns throughout the country so others can have that nostalgic moment of better days gone by. Thanks for watching. I have more Nebraska vids if you'll go to the playlist section. Indianola is in there too.

Probably a lot of people at the lake. It was a nice day after a lot of cold weather. Also this is the biggest town for miles around. The next big city is North Platte and it's always busy there. There is one Casey's store that stays open 24 hours and at night it is always full after hours due to the fact it's the only place you get anything to eat for miles around.

Sorry for the late reply. Yeah cost of living is cheap, low crime and pretty much nonexistent violent crime make it appealing. My ex's, ex bf car caught fire at Wendy's the other day and that has been the most exciting thing that's happened in a long time lol.

Where do the people from all those houses work?

No clue but the cost of living here is low. I'm paying 450 for 2 bedrooms and my electric bill is only around $50.

I'm not sure about these days, but in the 1980's it was mostly BN railroad and oilfield support workers. I haven't been back in over 20 years though, so it may have changed.
