Loved it. Being brought up in Warwickshire I can well remember stopping the car by a gated farm field to view the cows. They always managed to wander over close to see what was going on. To me, they always seemed to be very large pets! Greetings from a Brit residing in the USA.

£15 for a bale of straw... Try €35-€50 in Ireland for round bales of straw, last year I actually had to pay a man 65 euro for a large square

@@flankfarm In Ontario, Canada. Price of straw has gone up as well. 10-20 cents Canadian, per pound. Or and average of $65-$95 Canadian per 4 x 5 foot sized round bale. Which on average would make that £17-55 for Sarah. And Barely has been averaging $190-$250 a ton. Corn has been $180-$225 per ton( Canadian dollar)

I went to an autism workshop 18 years ago and while I was gone I lost 15 cows to nitrate poisoning so I've never left the ranch again. I have pretty good luck AI breeding heifers. We have cold winters and snow but not rain so our cows all live outside. Do the Dexters do ok being bred to regular sized bulls, as far as calving goes?

I'm just back from checking Nursery Paddock (nearest the house) before the sun sets. Our beefer ladies are due to start calving any day. Always nerve wracking times. Walked back via the sheep paddock and found a surprise. A new ram lamb!😍 I can't understand the current market preference for black hide cattle (whether they're Angus or not). Mine are a mix of Charolais, Limousin and Angus cross. My bull is a sweet, kind Angus boy

Certainly a lean for those types at the moment, I’m quite sure it’s because what’s what the supermarkets are demanding over here, but I’ll have to ask.

2455 you could but its where you get the tons of cardboard only probably I think it will hold there muck and there pee. And yeah you can use a conveyor belt systems you put in what called a feeder wagon which just mixes there food and chops it up to smaller bits and come out the side of the wagon.

In America when you buy beef you buy beef or black Angus or buffalo. Thats it. They don't sell beef by the different names of the different cows. It's like when you get a cat. You don't get a blue tip what ever you get a cat! In America, unless you really In to cats. Lol!

continue to love the videos! Thanks for all the great, honest experience with cows in a cold, wet climate. I'm still very unimpressed by wintering in a barn- I know why, but if the climate does not support the animals- especially the numbers, then I think they should not be there, no matter how much we love them. Because we love them, we should not raise them in such conditions. This goes for horses too, and any other large livestock that puts stress on the landscape. We don't have to be doing this, and there are such better ways to manage the land in smaller, more sensitive ecosystems. But the human element (occupation, passion, etc) makes this a "complex" issue, and I myself have animals that are not easily folded into the ecosystem, mainly for the sake of filling a wild animal's role, which has been pushed out by development. -As example, goats taking the place of elk and deer for brush and forest management. Could your farm make such smart evolutionary changes and ultimately be more productive and especially more economic, as well as ecologically sound? Could you showcase any ecological conservation work you do on your farm? cheers!

You "love cows" "wonderful creatures" "magnificent" .. they "produce milk for us to drink & should be drinking lots and lots of milk" (yeah.. to make you money! No it doesn't make us big and strong, it does the opposite, and it's meant for baby calves not humans) And you love them but then send them to slaughterhouses to be killed just so we can have a steak or burger for dinner? It is, unfortunately they are conditioned and marketing has led everyone else to believe they have the same nutritional needs as a baby cow! We don't require cow's milk.. it is meant to help a calf grow big and strong. It does not have this effect on us. It causes inflammation in our bodies. Break your cow titty juice addiction guys and move on to plant milk. You won't have a choice one day!

I find it astounding and deeply disturbing how you can say you love them yet kill them in the same sentence. It makes it totally obvious that she loves, not because of the sensitive beings that they are, but because she sees them as a money making products. If she genuinely cares and loved them she would not be forcibly impregnating the cow to breed them into existence to then have their heads chopped off. It's even more staggering considering the environmental and health damage it causes and is absolutely unnecessary
