I drive a 2008 Corolla and yes, they are amazing cars! They are boring as a toaster, but they go and go and go and never need anything more than basic maintenance like changing the oil every 10,000 kms (6,000 miles) and changing the radiator fluid every 3 years. Do those 3 things, together with changing things when they wear out (tires, brakes, wipers) and your Corolla will last 12 years with only a few minor problems (nothing is perfect).

I drive a 2006 Corolla and here is what has gone wrong with mine: I had to replace an old/hardened intake manifold gasket ($10) because the old one stopped sealing properly. I did the work myself in my garage, saving me $200. The exhaust pipe cracked at the muffler, and a muffler shop welded that back together for $120. My belt tensioner seized up due to corrosion; I replaced that myself for $250 (easy job to do). That's it. I also replaced the battery twice, the tires 5 times, the brake pads even more times. The car just goes and goes, and never breaks down.

I just traded in my ‘08 Corolla for a Jeep Renegade and I have to admit I miss her, she was soo good on gas. But Carmax gave me $3000 for her so that’s how you know Corollas are good cars.

I drive a 2009 and I’ve had only two big issues with it other than that it does the job very well. It’s maintenance is basic and doesn’t need anything more or crazy. I will say it is a boring car to drive but if you know how to maneuver it you can go pretty fast and zip through the highway with no problem 😩
@honestycounts93522 жыл бұрын
People say; "Buy a used car and save money", but have you seen the price of uses cars right now? They are the same or more than new, and they have not had any maintenance done on them for the past 2 years of the pandemic, so they are falling apart. No, the best move to do right now is to buy new, and since new cars are so expensive, the best thing to do is to buy something cheap but ultra-reliable, and that means to buy either a Corolla or a Civic as they are the best two.
@hugabug222 жыл бұрын

@@jerrikajanae Push button start blows. I have read that over time the button can get stuck and you can't shut off your car. And another issue I don't like is just rolling down one window while the car is off. With a key you can do that. Push button I believe you have to turn on the car. Also putting the car in neutral on a break down and the car doesn't start. With a key you can do that. Key fob cars are easier to steal for the criminal. Key start a little harder.

Very nice tutorial! You are very wise! I loved that you hid your Plate # and contacts. I hear ya sis! too many looneys out there. I initially put a deposit down for a Toyota Le hybrid that's coming in but then changed my mind being the battery is very expensive when it's time to replace it, and the hybrids are very slow on highways. The good news is..... today I received a call from the dealership that there's one more Corolla LE to arrive in a few months! The Celeste color (my favorite) with the moonstone interior! I can't wait! It's so hard to find new Toyotas. All cars are pre-sold before they make it to the lot. I'm driving a new Mazda 3 hatchback premium package for 6 months now, but getting poor gas mileage. It's a very nice car but trading for the Corolla! I love the look of Toyotas! One of my family friends bought a Corolla 6 years ago. She travels a lot and just sold it with 300,000 miles. No joke! and then a college student bought it. She took great care of her Corolla. Be Happy, be proud to own a Toyota, these cars are built to last. Thank you.

@@jerrikajanae yes! she at first thought it would be easy to pay for a Benz just out of college but learned quickly that she needed to also pay back the college tuition. She earned a great lawyer position, and just this year she sold the Corolla to a college student being she can now afford to repurchase a Benz. How long have you had your car, and how do you truly like driving it? Hows is the speaker system? Sometimes, critics can be harsh. The dealership didn't have one on the lot for me to test drive, but no worries because I know Toyotas are great cars! The LE trim May is not fast enough for some drivers but a good car!
