I'm so jazzed by this! Just bought an SB115 with the idea I'd never get SRAM T-Type, which wasn't the end of the world. Turns out Yeti already 'invented' the UDH standard without realizing it. I only hope this mod doesn't invalidate the lifetime frame warranty.

I’ve tried SRAM AXS, just couldn’t get used to it. I much prefer the tactile feedback of mechanical drivetrains. And I’ve heard/read transmission sacrifices speed for reliable shifting under load. Sounds like it was designed for e-bikes but is sounds sluggish for normal pedal bikes.

100% agree. Massive weight difference between XT/XTR and this T-Type also.

Conversely, can you now use a cheap, readily available UDH on that SB100 with a NORMAL (not T-Type) derailleur? The only snag would be if the UDH leaves the mech in a bad position and it shifts poorly.
@BiggieComponents18 күн бұрын
You can not. The feature on the Non-UDH yeti frames is the wrong shape to fit a UDH hanger.
@mtbboy199318 күн бұрын
Nicolai/Geometron has drop out I could get for my 2019 Geomtron G1. But I've not tried it yet. Nicolai/Geometron has replicable drop out, the RD hanger is a part of the drop out, So even with a big hit I think it's one of the most safe bikes to put Transmission on without damaging the frame. But that bike is so robust anyway.
@LoveMTB18 күн бұрын
If the axle gets damaged then you worry about the frame. Full mount derailleur sits on the trhu axle and sandwiches the right side of the frame. But structurally it's all on the axle!
@mtbboy199317 күн бұрын
@LoveMTB for some reason I wrote adapter I meant to write drop out. I wouldn't worry then, if something fails it would be the drop out but unlikely. Looks like they made it UDH as it says UDH, so one can use both regular Rd and direct mount. 👌Great move imo.

What people don't know is there's 2 different UDH standards.. the one with UDH..and later on the "hangerless" UDH standard or "classification". Sure you can do all of this, but aren't the Hangerless UDH standard frame specification related to frame design and it being stronger?

@@eddierivera7803 I disagree. T-type is WAY better when shifting under load. I had XO AXS Eagle and didn't like it. Went back to XTR. For me it's basically T-Type or Shimano.
