Great video! I have a pnw 27.2 pine. Love it! I've put thousands of miles and never had to service it. It does go slow when it's below 20°f but by far the least maintained component on my bike. Hope you enjoy!

Thank you for this very clear well done video. Dropper Posts continue to be a mystery to me. I hear they can be unreliable, but the KINDSHOCK Ragei which came on my Commencal just keeps on working and I hope it never fails. But since I am in Oregon, I have an interest in the PNW Droppers and will watch my friends' new droppers.

I have a Loam dropper with 200mm of drop. Great post, but during a really muddy ride there must have been something get past the wiper and scratched the post bad and got sticky going down. Warranty claim was super easy, great to deal with. They emailed me a label to send it back at no cost to me. They repaired it and got it back to me within a week! Great customer service and stand by their product. Hoping this was a one time issue, but nice to know the warranty service is top notch. Would not hesitate to buy another.

Good review. I have the loam and didn’t actually know that about the travel adjust. I thought I may have broken it when that white part came out. I actually came to see if people had issues with extremely stiff lever actuation. The post works as expected when there is no weight on it, but if I’m seated trying to drop the post the lever almost locks up. Thought it was a faulty post so I warrantied it but the same issue with the second post. A review I read said ‘firm lever feel’, but that’s being generous in my opinion.

I think the Bontrager Dropper you reviewed previously is the best! They are the simplest, and for me so far, the most reliable. And putting more grease inside the collar (as you had shown) keeps the dropper like new.

Great info as always. What isn't usual though, is that I wish for even more details. I wish you would open it up completely so we can compare it to oneup/other dropper internals. I can only find vids of pnw older dropper internals, or their service documentation where it all looks very much like how a oneup dropper would.

I'd add grease right away. They might send it drier cause of adjustment option. I found my oneup to be quite dry from factory too and it likes grease every 6mth minimum, I'd even say a good practice would be a smidge every quarter of the year

I had one for one ride. Overall I wasn't blown away by it and the one I had rattled terribly. Fox Transfers are a bit better quality but I've never gotten through two seasons with them. I'm using a Bike Yoke Devine now. They're expensive but smooth as hell and never stick.

I have three of these now. I have to admit, I live in Washington and Im a bit of a sucker for "buy local" ... that said, these are way better than my rockshox reverb and on par with my wife's fox transfer factory. But give the edge on the looks to the fox. Price point wise, howevr, I will never spend 300+ on a dropper when a reliable, local alternative is available. The people at PNW are just good folk. Click buy, its worth it!

Thanks for the link for this vid. A great warranty indeed and a tough call when shopping for a dropper as there are so many compelling options for similarly low prices compared to a few years ago. One thing that doesn’t get a lot of attention is stack height: the size of the area that includes the dropper seal collar and seat post/rails with the post all the way down. I’ve been going crazy over this as I’m in between sizes.
@Malio75

I pushed down on a one-up v2 dropper and it felt like I was pushing the post through sand and it was brand new just installed on a bike. And your saying this is worse I had a rockshox reverb and it was as smooth as butter literally could push it down with 2 fingers so it seems like if you want a smooth seat post you have to pay 300 or more

Always a good day whenever you post. I bought this dropper for a bike I’m building but still waiting for the frame. Do you know which one would be the proper location to measure the cartridge pressure?

Can you give me scenario where you want to reduce the travel on a dropper-post? I'm always on the other side. I must have long legs for someone 5'7" because if I seat my dropper all the way down it doesn't go up far enough for peddling. And since I ride a medium frame I can't get a longer dropper.
@kel5944
@kel5944 3 жыл бұрын
Your situation is exactly where you would want to reduce the travel. Buy one longer than you need and then shorten it so you can slam it all the way down into the frame.
@netposerx
@netposerx 3 жыл бұрын
@@kel5944 That's what I'm saying. A longer dropper is too long for the seat tube. I have a Vitus Mythique and the seat tube has a kink towards the bottom so you only have so much room to push the seat post in. The smaller the frame size the more you are limited on dropper post sizes.

@@LoveMTB I have an Ascend 125mm (for Med frame) on my Vitus Mythique and if I try to seat it fully the cable/actuator hits the bottom of the seat tube and doesn't work properly. I have a Rimpo AF (Med) with a Bike Yoke 160 mm but if I fully seat it, it's too short (not by much though) and I think a longer dropper might not fit.
