Thank you so much for the toolkit! The hint about which percentage your band should be based on type of fabric is wonderful! Since I have so many of your patterns, I would love to have a list of which ones can be mashed with other sleeves or necklines without making adjustments/alterations.

So glad you're enjoying the toolkit! While our patterns aren't designed to be interchangeable, we do have several resources to help if you want to mix and match things. I also was an addict to the feature Friday and the special offers on New Pattern releases. I have soo many patterns that I haven’t sewn because I making wrong fabric choices. When the fabric arrives it is either not enough or the wrong weight for the pattern😢, one day I’ll get it right😊

That can definitely be tricky! When ordering online, I definitely defer to shops that have a strike team that sews up samples. It's so much easier to visualize and get first hand knowledge of how something sews up, moves, and stretches, and usually the sewists are more than happy to answer questions. You do learn, over time, which fabrics work well but there's no guarantee that what you order is what you'll get. For example, I ordered rayon spandex for a Chorus dress (one of our patterns with a drapey cowl neckline.) Usually RS is very relaxed and has poor recovery. The one I received had 2 way stretch and almost no vertical stretch. That was a new one for me! But that's what I get for ordering off Amazon last minute. 😊 (It still made a beautiful dress, just not as drapey as I expected lol) ~J

I live in Spain. The shop i order from is too far to get to and I can only go by their description and photos. There stretch fabrics are between 3-6% stretch. How do you translate that to your stretch chart? Thanks for your response

3-6% is about what I would expect for mechanical stretch of woven fabrics. Is it referring to stretch or Lycra/spandex/elastane content? I would contact the shop and ask them if you're unsure. The guide is more to determine how much stretch the fabric you have already has, so you can tell if it has the needed stretch for a pattern. ~J

I tested this out by ordering using different codes. It only saves a few cents, so maybe order 1 pattern through LN code for the sewing toolkit? It is more than worth the few cents difference!
