Thank you Noreen 🥰 for such a wonderful presentation for all of us who dislike neckband sewing. Now we can dive in and get it right! I have your exact machine and happy to see the settings you used for basting on the neckband and stretching it differently than before. I will also baste BEFORE I serge it on! Thanks so much! I have many Love Notions patterns as well.

Not usually necessary for knits (and for some fabrics, may make it more stretchy than needed,) but if your fabric doesn't have the required stretch, that would be one option! ~J

Are you using a serger or sewing machine to attach? Did you match them up at the notches? It's really hard to say without seeing a pic, if you want to shoot us an email at [email protected], we can look at it after the holiday weekend and try to help further. Or if you're in our Facebook group, we can help there, also! ~J

I am 5’0………if only you did petite patterns or the lines for petite adjustments I’d buy everything! My shoulders and upper bust are 0 …..my waist a 4 and my hips a 6. & biceps a 6………I’m ready to scream trying to do the most simple woven top, cannot get my narrow, forward shoulders & big biceps right….how do I know which adjustment to do first?!
@gerriebell21287 күн бұрын
On pants it’s top down center out. Maybe it is similar with tops? You print sizes 0 and 4 and 6. Then you would use the 0 for the upper, just below the bust you start angling down to get to 6;at hip level and blend down. Look at the finished garment measurements, too. But compare those to the body measurements and you can tell how much ease there is. As for physical pattern pieces, a basic (for wovens) top front piece cut on the center fold, should measure at bust level, one fourth of your bust measurement plus 1/4 the ease amount, plus seam allowance. (Ease is finished garment bust measurement minus body bust measurement.). So I think this pattern, measuring the pattern pieces at bust level would be similar. Side front plus center front added together would be 1/4 the bust measurement plus 1/4 the ease, plus seam allowance. You compare that to your body measurements plus ease, and in theory you can know how each size would fit. I hope this makes some sense. I’ve had pretty good luck with doing this. I’m 5’1” and need to blend between sizes too. And I love this shoulder adjustment idea in the video!

It's not just petite peeps that would find this adjustment useful! I did it on mine and I'm 5'9" and at the top of the size chart. As far as compound adjustments go, maybe this video will help? ~Jess kzbin.info/www/bejne/oIOapYyLhriDoMUsi=k28daLSKfEXRGRPm

I'll be watching these comments, and on the FB group, to see what tall sewists say about this pattern. Since on many LN patterns I need to lower the armscye (I'm 5'10") I assume I will on this too. But just visually, the neckline looks plenty low already. I haven't been able to start this project yet, but I'm unsure whether to lengthen at the shoulder and then raise the v-neck, or just scoop the armscye lower. Thoughts?
@LoveNotions7 күн бұрын
Honestly, I'd make a muslin real quick in some scrap fabric. You could even just leave off the pocket/lower front bodice side pieces to get an idea of how it fits at the top. For what it's worth, none of our testers lengthened the straps or armscyes, tho plenty shortened! I myself shortened mine and I'm 5'9"! 😊 ~Jess

What a great idea I love your version. Can I ask a question if the pattern is for knits why do you say go down a size for woven ?
@lynneprentice42789 күн бұрын
My thoughts exactly! I thought you went up a size for wovens!
@LoveNotions9 күн бұрын
It's for both! Designed for fluffy, cozy wovens, but also great in some bamboo jersey or whatever your heart desires! You can size down in thinner fabrics if you want a less relaxed fit. 😊 ~J
