I'm so glad that this video has been helpful to so many people! ❤️️ I do want to mention that a couple of medical professionals noted to me in the comments advising against recapping needles. It's possible to poke yourself while recapping it the way I showed, which would be particularly unhygienic and potentially dangerous if you do so and get poked after administering a shot to someone other than yourself. If you still want to recap it though, it's better to use the scoop method where you place the lid on a surface like your countertop and then without a hand on the lid, point the needle into the cap so there's no way you could get poked by it in the process!

Thank you so much for the video. I now feel I’m not the only one going through this. I’m scare of needle, so it’s not easy giving myself the injection. I’m only 12 weeks and have at least 378 more injections to go for this pregnancy and maybe another 3 months after I give birth. 😭

I feel ya. 😔 You know what else I did that helped? I started looking into the box of shots and as it got emptier each day I would say to myself, "I'm almost another 10 days closer to seeing my baby already!" And when I'd throw away an empty box I'd remind myself that it wasn't so bad, and again how now I was that much closer to seeing my baby. ♥️ It will get easier. *Hugs*

First person I've watched that talks 100,% truth I'm on these now reguarding needle going in you feel it sometimes it hurts going in sometimes you literally feel it go in but with literally no pain at all but 100% every time you inject you get that stinging burning sensation due to what the liquid actually is you can try to manage it by going slower or faster like you said faster works best for me put the needle in slowly but then press it down fast just gets it over and done and doesn't hurt as much personally but of course everyone's different , I've watched multiple videos before your one and they all said they same lie " it doesn't hurt at all you cant even feel it " and it's not a fair thing to say because people who are watching before taking this injection for the first time will expect no pain to be greeted with that horrible stinging pain so thankyou for being detailed and honest it helps people out alot, alot of people like to play it out and make out " you can't feel a thing " it's an injection of course you can feel it but due to what's in this stuff it stings where as other normal injections like COVID injections ect ect don't sting at all when they inject

I'm 16 and I had a really big blood clot in my leg so I do twice a day lovenox injections. I've always had the hugest fear of needles. My dad is a type one diabetic so he takes 4-6 insulin shots a day, I remember when he explained to me when i was little why he does that I remember thinking what any 2nd grader would think "I'll never have to have a shot every single day." When my hematologist told us In February would need to do twice a day injections I was terrified and so were my parents. The first few injections were horrible. The needle going in hurt super bad and the lovenox going in stung really bad so I cried super hard after the first few injections. I remember getting nervous hours before the injections. I remember about 12 minutes after one of my night injections in the hospital I was already getting anxious about the next one then the next day about 8 hours before my injection I was already nervous. I thought these next few months were going to be miserable. However, I remember telling my last day nurse about my needle fear and she told me about something called buzzy. It's this little buzzing machine with a small ice pack on the back and she said it's supposed to numb your skin. So I bought one and tried it out. I put it on an injection site 7 minutes before the injection and it has worked so well ever since. With buzzy, I still feel the needle going in but it doesn't hurt. I'm so thankful that nurse told me about buzzy, my anxiety would be so much worse If she hadn't told me. I'm a little over 3 months into my injections and at most it'll be 3 more months but I might be done sooner. My friends plan on making me a lovenox free cake and having a lovenox free party when I'm done
@TangerineBliss4 жыл бұрын
Stephanie thank you so much for sharing this! Maybe you're already all done by now? I'm glad the little buzzy helped you so much! I definitely had a bit of anxiety at the beginning as well, but I took slow, deep breaths to help me stay calm and as I got better at it I found that I didn't need to do that anymore. It's so important to find a good solution though, because our mental wellness surrounding these things is important too.

This is very well done and thank you for doing this. One note is that people should be very cautious about putting the gray cover back on the needle. While you clearly take care in doing it, if one does not take such care it can be quite easy for the needle to go through the needle and into a finger. I would recommend that people not do that but I completely respect your reason for doing it.

This is a great video! If I can make 1 suggestion I would ask that you crop out the part recommending re-capping the needle. That is a big medical no-no because people often stick themselves trying to get the cover on the used needle. This is less important when self-administering shots but is important when administering to others. Otherwise great work!

I am starting Lovenox in 2 weeks for my next frozen embryo transfer. I had to take SEVEN different injectable medications with my first IVF cycle. The ones with the weird pen contraptions make me so nervous. I dont know why that is! For some of my injections, I had to draw up saline to mix into a vial of powder, draw that back into the syringe, get rid of bubbles, change the needle tip, and then give myself the shot. I found those less stressful than the ones with the "handy and simple" pens. I found out Lovenox has a weird pen and it creeps me out. :( Thank you for sharing these tips!

Aw, good luck Maureen! My experience was that the first one was the hardest, but it will get easier! A pain coping technique I did early on with these shots (and forgot to mention in the video) is slow breathing like in the KZbin video you can find by typing "Penny Simkins breathing". It should be the first one, about the 3 R's and breathing. Slow breathing and a low moan is a really helpful comfort measure during birth, so I tried it to distract and calm myself when I was first getting used to these shots and it was really helpful. I hope that might help as well! ❤️

Aw, hang in there! 💓 I'm sorry. The beginning is the hardest part. Taking slow deep breaths helped me calm down when I was nervous about it in the early days.

I use the lock/close (automatic safety device) before I put the lid on. It is less likely to stick you.

I am so glad i came across your video. I recently stopped taking the Xeralto, after 5½ months of treatment for the blood clot which now is gone praise the Lord🙏🏽. However, my husband and I want to have a baby and since my history of blood clot my doctor said that i will be taking a blood thinner injection throughout my pregnancy. I confess that i am scared but i know i am not the only one. And your video will be very helpful when the time comes. 🙏🏽

Once I push the medication in, my needle pops back in the syringe automatically.
@TangerineBliss5 жыл бұрын
I needed to apply quite a bit of pressure to get the needle to go inside, so I didn't do that since I didn't want to push into my skin any further or apply pressure at any weird angles. 😬
@calicooley81815 жыл бұрын
I see what you're saying. I'm injecting in the front, so the angle isnt as hard. Thanks for responding!
