I forgot to mention that I also added small amounts of blueberries, raspberries and blackberries. The vegetables, grains, legumes, seeds change depending on what I have in my fridge or cupboard. What do you feed your birds?

Chop mix of broccoli, cauliflower, celery, seasonal squash. Sprouts; mostly from lentils, mung beans. Which sprouts do you find will hold up the longest?....I would like to be able to refrigerate the sprouts for at least 5 days, since it takes 5 days to sprout out and ready to eat.

Great video! I have kept many budgies and currently have South American, Arboreal parrots (Noble Macaw, two Green Cheek Conures and. Linnie (trying to find my Linny boy a Linnie friend). Although the grass parakeets of Australia (budgies, cockatiels, King's, Baraband's, etc.) feed on the ground and have a genetic proclivity for sprouted seeds/grains, I have found that the Arboreal parrots do not. I do sprout every week and offer daily mixed with a cooked grain and legume mix (cooked mix consists of peas, corn, barley, rice varieties, chickpeas, mini black lentils-- I cook, dry a tiny bit on a cookie sheet in convection over to prepare for better freezing and then freeze in bowl, stirring as they freeze so that they don't clump. Then I put in freezer bags. This mix freezes and heats up well so this is the base of my chop. Like Donna, I add the fruits, greens and other veggies freshly diced to the thawed base-- Birds don't like mushy, thawed green mixes so it works best to create a base that freezes well and then add the greens fresh). I have also used a product called "Soak and Simmer" from Volkman that includes legumes and grains. Cook, freeze portions and use as chop base. I have a new conure, newly weaned who needs to put on some weight (he is fully flighted and dropped a bit more during the weaning process as might be ideal). So, I have added fresh, live mealworms to his daily diet. Fluker's is the supplier and is recommended by Dr. Jason Crean, an ornithologist who has many vlogs and books about avian nutrition. He has a Facebook group as well.

Bubbles looks like an "eating machine", and sounds like one too; so cute. Your birds look great. Hey, it's July and I know that there will soon be an anniversary day for Jack Sparrow; would be nice to see a video on him again. I am glad you brought in the 2 budgies from outside; Thunder and Lightning, but it's hard to pick out Jack now, since you have Thunder who is also blue. Only when I can see the 2 blue budgies in the same screen do I know that one is Jack. 😀

Hi, yes its Jacks anniversary month, I will try and make a video. It is hard to tell Jack from Thunder if they are flying around however Thunder loves Sprinkles and they feed each other so that's how I know who is who

Thank you!. I leave mine in the fridge between 5 to 7 days depending on how fresh the veggies are. If I buy veggies and wait a few days to make the food then I keep for only 5 days. If I make it the same day I buy the veggies then 7 days

Hi I have a random question. I noticed in some of your videos, you covered the top of the cages with a thin layer of plastic. Why do you do that? Is it better for the birds’ feet? And where did you buy that material?
@LizziPriscila2 жыл бұрын
I believe she mentioned, it makes it easier to clean the bird cages....if I remember correctly....
@Loveofpets2 жыл бұрын
HI, I put the plastic there to keep the inside of the cages clean from all the droppings and food that may drop through. Its also much safer for their feet and its easier to clean then the bars of the cage. Here is a link from my amazon store on what I use amzn.to/3zEPEhd you can get it from a hardware store or from my link which helps support my channel

@@Loveofpets Thank you! I have one more question. So I have 4 parakeets and an IRN. My IRN always shakes his head when he eats, bc he wants to get rid of the food on his beak. It ends up staining my walls. Also there are so many fluffy cotton ball like feathers all over the house. Do you have these same issue and how do you handle them?
