I really like #7- there are very few PSAs about elder abuse, I'm glad that they're trying to raise more awareness about that, because it's very common but is not talked about nearly as much as it should be.

I remember we had a radio PSA on elder abuse in 2003 when I was in high school. It was the only PSA that freaked my best friend out.

My childhood saw my parents get into domestic disputes like that. It encourages trauma and is never good for family bonding. And, as shown in these ads, can lead to death.

I find it really sad that there are some people out there who were victims of abuse who then grew up to abuse others.

Regarding the ad at 3:49 that really spooked me the first time I saw it, I wonder if there's a standalone video of it, just for curiosity's sake. If so, can anybody link it here? I've been looking for it but to no avail.
@moodymermaid36902 жыл бұрын
They really need to start making more PSAs and PIFs about elderly abuse. It's just as important as every other form of abuse, yet it doesn't seem to get much attention. Neither do ones about men being the abuse victims. We seem to have more anti-hunting adverts than we do on the aforementioned topic.

One thing about #9- I really despise the term "violence against women" because it implies that sexual assault and domestic violence only happen to women and are only perpetrated by men. When that is actually not the case, it's just it's more likely to happen to women and be perpetrated by men. We don't call muggings "violence against men" even though men are more likely to be the victim of muggings.
@LoveThePIF4 жыл бұрын
I agree to some extent; violence is violence, no matter who's the target. However, 'violence against women', to me, is a term that's used when we want to highlight that women are often the victims of DV because of their gender - so the use of a gendered term is justified here.
@Terratetradon2 жыл бұрын
no it doesnt? it implies the violence their talking about is twoards women. domestic violence is a seperate term that applies to all genders.

this PSA or PIF may triggered some woke or purists people and also mostly FEMINISTS if they gonna re-released this ads today on the television again hahahaha
@LoveThePIF4 жыл бұрын
That's quite an inconsiderate thing to say. Violence can be a trigger to anyone - especially someone who's been a victim of it. It's not about feminists or 'woke' people.
@LoveThePIF4 жыл бұрын
@DJ 3lectrical That's right. But whether a PIF actually triggers (that is, to cause an emotional distress reaction - not just to cause offence) someone doesn't depend on whether they're a "woke feminist" or not.
