I own both the Sonos arc and Bose 700 complete systems. A good friend just bought this system. This soundbar sounds excellent for the price paid. Only use it in small rooms. But if the placement of the speakers is right, and room is small enough , then this is all you need. Great job Visio.

Just purchased one of these. I was specifically looking for a budget soundbar. When I saw this system was only 50 dollars more (I did find it on sale) than most sound bars I was browsing through, I didnt mind upping my budget a bit. Im glad I did. Yesterday (Black Friday 2022) I went to Best Buy expecting to purchase the Vizio 5.1. To upgrade from my Vizio 2.1. Walked around to test a few others before dropping the $200. I listened to a Sony 3.1 with the Atmos technology. It sounded amazing. So I dropped $400 instead. Took it home. Set it up. Sounded nothing like it did in the store. The voices were ryatal clear but the bass could not compare to the 2.1 that had already had and loved. So I returned the Sony. Exchanged is for the Vizio 5.1. It far exceeded my original expectations. The voices are much clearer than the 2.1. That’s due to the sound bar has 3 speakers vs 2. And the bass rumbles the room as I’d hoped. I do not have a large cave, but it works for me. The room is filled with sound. Best $200 purchase/refund ever!!!

I just bought my new Vizio V-series 5.1 channel sound bar to replace a old surround sound system & decided to check out a video (after already had bought the system basically because of the price) & came across your video which helped me immensely to understand my system a great deal from the unboxing, setup, overview, & review. Very detailed video. As far as the sound bar I'm happy with my purchase & the sound is great. I wish that the rear speaker were wireless but other than that I'm very happy with it.

I purchased this system at Sam's for $160 and am amazed at how good it sounds.I had a $1300 soundtrack which fried on me,this is a temporary replacement.I am not in any rush to replace the $1300 bar.This system is very impressive and I am very satisfied with bass heavy content like action movies,music, bass heavy content of any kind all good.Correction: I meant $1300 soundbar which fried.

Can it output in Mono? I have an older Vizio 2.1ch soundbar, and when playing the old NES, audio only plays from the right channel. Even if I bypass the upscaler and TV entirely with an RCA to 3.5mm adapter, it is still decoded as a stereo signal.

A subwoofer placed in the corner of a room may increase the subwoofer’s output - causing the sub to sound louder. Try placing your subwoofer in a corner and see how it sounds. However, depending on your floor space, a corner might not be a viable option for your subwoofer if it’s too far from your listening area. Additionally, a sub’s close proximity to a flat wall can cause a harsh, rumbling, unpleasant sound. And if your subwoofer is a ported design (a subwoofer with an opening to allow airflow), you’ll want to keep it twice the diameter of the port (typically 6-12 inches) away from a wall to allow airflow out of the port. The great thing about a subwoofer (especially a wireless subwoofer) is it can be situated almost anywhere on your floor space. There is no formula for locating the best spot. And, it’s truly your personal preference. To find your satisfactory subwoofer sound, start by hooking up the subwoofer and turning on music or a movie that has a lot of bass. Then, sit down in a spot you think you’ll be listening to your music and movies the most. Move the subwoofer around until the subwoofer sounds ideal. If you have a family, roommates, or entertain others often, be sure you see how the subwoofer sounds in the other locations your listeners will be sitting.

That’s where we use ours. It works great. I think it depends on the size of the room. If it’s a huge room, you could get something more powerful if you love it really loud. Depends on the individual. It’s plenty loud for us and never need to set it at full volume.

I just bought the same Visio 58" along with a Visio 2.1 sound bar, but the Bluetooth subwoofer would not bind so I returned it and purchased the 5.1. The 2.1 sound bar DID sound much better than the TV (even without the subwoofer) so much so I hated to have to return it. But I am sure the 5.1 will not disappoint. Except for the sound, we love the Visio 58".

It’s a good sign that the surround speakers are working. As far as the subwoofer, unlike other speakers, it’s hard for humans to locate where bass sound is coming from. Put your hand on the subwoofer. It’s not always being used, but when you are watching something with a lot of bass in it, like an explosion, you should feel the subwoofer vibrating. Another thing to try: if you watch my video when you get to the remote section, it talks about testing the speakers. Run the test and you should hear white noise on the subwoofer when it gets to that speaker. If you tried all of that and you are convinced the subwoofer isn’t working, contact VIZIO. They have good tech support. Hope that helps.

It depends on what you are watching. Sound isn’t always sent to those speakers. Did you watch a movie with surround sound? You should hear them in that situation.

I’ve had a great experience with the 5.1 Vizio sound system but I recently moved in a apartment and don’t use the surround sound anymore. i just use my sub and sound bar and for some reason my audio is really low at max volume. it’ll sound like 25% volume while it’s at 100% volume

Whenever I'm watching a movie I press info to hear the audio format playing it doesn't seem to read out any DTS surround formats, instead calling it stereo, even though my blu-ray player says it's on DTS. Is this an issue or just an oversight on Vizio's part?
