10 additional tips from a happy successful ENTJ: 1. Choose a career you can easily redefine yourself without starting from scratch (entrepreneurship and science are great examples). 2. Work on at least 1-3 hobbies at a time to keep you busy when your career is not moving as fast as you want it to. 3. Listen to people with efficiency by asking deeper questions. 4. Find passionate, intelligent, and curious friends. INTPs and INFJs are my favorites. 5. Avoid negative people, they don’t want to solve their problems and will not like you anyways. 6. Help others achieve their goals and make time to volunteer. 7. Relax by listening to a book 2-3x times the speed. 8. Tell yourself being fit and healthy is a rare achievement and do it. 9. Meditate. Slowing down your non-stop mind for 10 min a day will be the most challenging but helpful thing you can learn how to do. 10. Learning all the rules is the first step in breaking them...but you already know this one!

I’m an entj and was affected by a couple of negative people in my life for the past year. They have estranged me from my goal and I lost sight of my goals for a while and now that they played their hand, I have been lost since I lost the precious time I could have used to achieve something greater. How do I make up for this? This affected one of the major points in my life...that is getting into a great college and am lost and desolate after this. How would other entjs handle this?

2:32 A lot of people say ENTJs are very hard on other people and push others too hard, along with being overly critical. What most people don’t realize is as an ENTJ I am even harder on myself. It can be difficult because you feel like you aren’t pushing people that hard since you are so much worse on yourself, but to others they aren’t used to being pushed so far, and they don’t enjoy it either. That’s why we (or at least I ) can come off as so emotionless and harsh.

INFJ here working with a few ENTJs. I'd say we're similar in the parallel aspect but just different in our approaches. I find ENTJs fun to be around with because of that "pushy" energy. The only draw back with ENTJ is - it depends if you're in a healthy environment or not. Those who are in a healthy one - are better listeners and more aware and accepting. INFJs are also much harder on ourselves even before other's would know it.

I've already taught myself to lean into the charm, but will definitely take your advice on diversifying my work load. Codependent ENTJ here. This is absolutely 💯 👌 spot on! Self care, feelings are hard for me to take notice. Pushing myself to the limit ended up with me having cancer. I really need to learn to look after myself more, have fun and not be too intense workaholic. 😕. Everything to us is a warzone. Challenges, goals, responsibilities, fixing and caretaking most of my life! I come off as harsh, rigid. People don't realise we also have feelings. We are too hard on ourselves. 😕😔 . The Myers-Briggs test enabled me to understand myself more apart from going to a therapist. A combination of Codependency and ENTJ typology is a disaster for personal relationships. I haven't dated for years! It's work, work, work for me.

I think, as an entj, setting yourself rational goals is the most crucial thing to keep in mind. Because we can get lost in big picture plan but when it comes to the moment we can get frustrated or burned-out pretty easily because we try to do insane amounts of work all at once. Sometimes we put our ideals in front of everything but once you realize you have got no meaningful memories or valuable friendships, romantic partners it sucks. And we generally think that life is like a warzone, we always need to have good tactics all the time and it's really tiring to think this way. We can sometimes turn the little things into a huge chaos because we think we HAVE TO FIGHT but sometimes the best tactic is to cool it down and enjoy the moment. I understand entj stereotypical admiration on paper but on real life it's not that great.

Excellent advice on making a change in lieu of a break. I am trying to relax on a Sunday and have a huge outdoor project that I honestly need to take a break from because of being physically beat up from doing it for many days - BUT I feel crazy guilty because, as an ENTJ, all I want to do is finish projects. It is like a compulsion: planning, implementing, finishing (repeat over and over through life). The way I can take a break (without driving myself nuts with guilt) is to not tell myself it is a break, but to tell myself I need to mix up my activity with a change. So I worked on the (very physical) outdoor project for 5 days or so this week, then am forcing myself to sit and read (which I love doing and can easily finish a book in a few days). Obvioulsy taking a break from reading to watch ths video! :) These videos and seeking understanding of different types can be life changing, thank you for taking the time to include the nuances of type (in all of your videos). My daughter has INFP as a preference and we have really interesting conversations because neither of us can imagine having each other's dominant type! INFPs=Fi dominant (Te inferior/shadow) and ENTJs=Te dominant (Fi inferior/shadow).
@susankievman642
@susankievman642 4 жыл бұрын
I can so relate to that. I am an ENTJ, my daughter is an INFP. Her strong FI drives me crazy. My strong TE pisses her off! I want to find a solution to the problem and fix it NOW! She needs to get into the "right frame of mind" to tackle a problem. Aaargggg!

Nathan! You did it again! It is so true! Outstanding how you manage to figure us out! 😉 Love your videos!😊 Charm is a tool for every type! For ENTJs...requires: practice and patience! WARNING: some characters require a lifetime of patience! 😂 But once you get it right, you will see it pays off and then it will be your second nature as we see it as a win-win situation. If we don't see the win, we won't engage. As we grow older, we start understanding that over working in one direction not necessarily pays off and looking for things you really love will bring you loads of satisfaction. I believe, as an ENTJ, it is our nature to be DOERs and we can be discussing one thing today and the next day we have the whole vision/planning in place...we know what to do! As simple as that! (which can be too fast for other personalities). No matter if we need to spend 20-24 hours per day to achieve what we want to do.. we will do it. In terms of neglecting, it involves our physical needs, emotional needs and interpersonal dreams ( if we still remember them). We are extremely rational... no matter if it hurts ( and if it does, we won't admit to no one). I wonder if there is an ENTJ here who can admit that finishing a relationship with a boyfriend/ girlfriend did hurt and told that to that person and people around)????

Studying the cognitive functions is a nice thing to change the focus of the mind to something more lightweight, yet still self improving and possibly beneficial towards other people. I never understood what you meant by ENTJs not being in touch with what is actually important to them on a deeper level (because they lack Fi). As and ENTJ, I feel I am the opposite. I looked back over my results and saw I am actually 49%Fi vs 51% thinking, so I'm quite high on Fi for an ENTJ really. Its amazing how accurate this stuff is!

@johanvandenbussche4479

There is a rule in nature that nobody likes to play if they can't win 30% of the time. An ENTJ who is perceived as "always winning", will end up left to his/her own devices. That's kind of a loss...

Or how to beat an ENTJ if such a thing is possible.
@harishkumargujudhur8200
@harishkumargujudhur8200 4 жыл бұрын
Well, it's simple. You will have to seek the answer in MBTI, for now, such as you notice the parallel between ENFJ and ESTP, as an example. Then, you compare INTJ and ENTJ, with swapped dominant loops. Then you see how rationale translates to reality, compared to having free will, having self-interest, but losing motivation over time, irrespective of workload unless you see the metric somewhere rising. Here are some across-the-board weaknesses/things one may lack, or which are not functioning in a manner which is mutually beneficial, as a baseline: 1. Family, 2. Intimate relationship 3. Machiavellianism (usually auxiliary function - but that's a personal conclusion), lie and deceits and lying for your 'positivity', and for power, 4. A sociopathic meta-narrative based on one or many such deceits, from which people derive their ideologies to judge who is going to have a dark side. 5. finance, 6. A job, 7. Doing what motivates you most. 8, moving up the dominance hierarchy, based on comparing status. 9. Making sure you have prepared to avoid being spontaneous and paying attention when someone talks, even if he is being deceitful. Actually, I repeat. Do a closer analysis of MBTI. For instance, you can use C.S. Joseph to compare ENTJ and ESFJ. It's interesting to try drawing new conclusions, and derive a deeper understanding, which can keep you more motivated - that's another weakness, btw. There's quite a lot, and people will learn to use them against each other. At the end of the day, what matters is how driven you are, how content you are, how free you are, yet you can be as content as a moron, and as desperate as a bastard, as much as low-key lacking motivation as any person who is conscientious, and potentially high in negative emotions. After all, the eudemonic experience comes henceforth, as much as passion is the romance of the intellect/free will/ego and contentment. That is my observation. And you can infer much more on your own.

ENTJ’s have INTP unconscious so they get the observation understanding of the values of other people automatically but conscious effort to do this may not go well. The key may be for them to have an optimal Ni goal that feels like it has high standards of values Fi. This will attract people who will charm the ENTJ and they will get a clear image of the values people have around them. Either to improve relationships or to ensure you’re not in a bad environment. The issue ofc with ENTJ’s is their perfectionism could make any issue seem like a bad social environment for them. ENTJ/ENFJ is perhaps the most stable of their 4 subtypes but sacrifices Si comfort and habitual sentiment. But who needs that anyway. If I could pick I’d certainly be a ENTJ/ENFJ given the choice

I had an ENTJ boyfriend and I think INTJs freak ENTJs out because even though we’re not vocal like they are and we don’t need recognition the way they do somehow (at least to them) we still seem to be able to be as effective and successful as they are in life without all of the manic behavior 😏

@@BlairWaldorf2013 yeah I'd agree. They are def a lot of vocal drama before action.... while we just watch, Ni builds a path, and we execute. I find they get annoyed with us waiting for Ni to build a path and so they constantly try to push us in what they think is the best because they always believe they are the best so their way is therefore the best. But I find their Ni is weaker and their way is full of holes and errors..... Id rather take the time to build/design then constantly fix problems and errors after. They dont get that. They are all actin action action.... shove shove shove.... fix fix fix... in fact one way to annoy them when they try to shove you forward is to calmly point out all the holes and errors and future problems in their idea. Really annoys the hell put of them 😆

@@grazynawolska8160 thats actually extremely wrong, since mature ENTJs love INTJs, simply because the fast paced Te-Ni is complemented by the slower but more refined Ni-Te combo, finding mistakes and fixing them together. As an ENTJ i don't see INTJ as rivals. Instead i see them as reliable friends who give good advice to my plans. And even if our combined idea doesnt quite work still, ENTJ are sure to improvise and they do it better than INTJ because chaos and random stuff that happens midway scares the hell out of Ni, so our Se helper is needed. ENTJ+INTJ are the best work duo, from personal experience.

@networthy

@Matt Poe That would be true for an INTP. INTJs execute just as well as ENTJs. So, as an INTJ, I will gladly keep my smirk as I continue to silently execute my company's vision with way more strategy than you ENTJs.
@vx7526
@vx7526 4 жыл бұрын
@Matt Poe Are you sure the plan typically you entjs bring out is to prevail in the long race? The best possible deal punched under a certain circumstance isn't tantamount in significance to that which is filtered through a process of seeking implications. During making the "extraneous" efforts devoted to carrying out something, intjs may revisit the principles and values and how those add up to the purpose of the act. The above process is essential because an intj may not hope the outcome of the efforts in spite of its successful results isn't somewhat a throwback in the general progress of other realms (if that should be the case, then what can be done to authentically compensate)...
@networthy
@networthy 4 жыл бұрын
@Matt Poe An ENTJ's execution usually leaves countless gaps and mistakes along the way. Mistakes that will, eventually, need fixing and thus require more time. An INTJ's ability to see a bigger vision and concoct with "urgent patience" an execution plan that reduces this margin for silly mistakes compensates for the ENTJ's advantage in being action-oriented and faster in execution. In essence, it is as you said, we both get shit done, and effectively too, just with different approaches. As for the charisma, that would be true for most INTJs. However, on a personal note, I'm an INTJ that could EASILY pass as an ENTJ. I'm effective in communication, public speaking, and building business relationships. Most people call me a liar when I tell them I'm actually an introvert. In short, I know an INTJ's weaknesses but, as an already mature INTJ, I've taken action to fix them, as I love doing with pretty much everything in life. PS: I'm the CEO and solo-founder of a growing tech company and I truly respect ENTJs. Would love to have them running some aspects of my business some time down the road.
