I love how you approach style from a healthy way, not making people feel overwhelmed and stupid.

Incorporating Maslow's hierarchy of needs into the distribution of basics vs. fun pieces in your wardrobe blew my mind. What a clever way to think of that!

Thank you for breaking down the basics, key pieces and personality pieces. Makes so much sense!

Indyx is life changing, Marie. Strongly agree. Just having a visual inventory of what I actually have, seeing things like four black turtlenecks already in my inventory helps me STOP before I buy a fifth one. Being able to create and style outfits feels a bit like online shopping. Truly feel like I’m shopping my closet. The paid Insider subscription includes the analytics which if for me since I use the app so frequently is extremely reasonable. I’m in the app all the time. Thanks again, Marie for the practical approach to a closet reset. I feel like it’s helped start to develop a game plan for 2025.

Wondering if you ever archive (keep) clothing items that you might not be wearing but love or are sure will be back in style?
@overthinkingkpopАй бұрын
I certainly do! My fluffy legwarmers, galaxy leggings, and skinny jeans are all tucked away, waiting for the day when they finally come back around. 😂

Yes! I keep them stored away, so not in my everyday closet so that it doesn’t clutter or take up too much space with the things I actually wear on a day to day basis! 🥰

I am an Indyx member, but I cannot get my wardrobe cataloged because it's overwhelming. Any tips? And yes, I have too many clothes.

I just started doing Indyx a couple months ago and am almost up to 500 items in my wardrobe 😢 That definitely didn't happen all at once, though, and there were several lessons learned. Here are some things I learned along the way: - Declutter BEFORE you start taking pictures; remove any items that are out of season or do not currently fit from your wardrobe and put them off until relevant to prioritize the pieces you're actually using. - Natural lighting is recommended, but I opted to use softbox lighting instead and that worked great, too. - Don't use a green screen as your background; it will add a weird green cast to the edges of items. A plain sheet works just fine. - Take all of your shoe pictures from the same angle. Set the shoes on a stool or table with a plain backdrop and take a shot from eye level with the boots. - Break the project into smaller chunks. I never worked for more than two hours at a time. - If you get dressed in the morning with items that aren't in Indyx yet, you can always take a selfie and backfill any missing items at the end of the day when you remove them. - I promise: It is completely worth the trouble to do it! Once you get into the groove of it, it actually becomes pretty enjoyable, in fact. - Let yourself take "Dress-Up" breaks to remix garments in new ways. I found going through my garments one by one to be very inspirational. (Make sure you snap pics and/or create outfits of any winning combos you come up with!) Good luck!

Hey, I picked out my favorite 3 items from each category to start there - 3 pants, 3 sweaters, 3 shoes, etc. Then I started making outfits. When I made an outfit that inspired me to add another item I'd add it quickly. Also, I didn't photograph everything myself. I Google searched for basic items like white T-shirt, or black leggings and just used the online product photo. I hope this helps.

Honestly, what they said! ☝🏼 Those are great tips! I personally started with the things I wear the most. Then I would do them by category, so first all my tanks, then long-sleeves, then skirt, pants… and so on. I just do few at a time and start with your most loved and worn pieces first so you can already play around with styling in the app 🫶🏼

@@lindsaygarland504 thanks for the tips. I've been picking out my outfits the night before I wear them. I'll try that.
