A few years back I was eating lunch in Indianapolis. It was a few weeks after the Colts beat Luvvie's Bears in the SuperBowl. Always thought he was a class act so I told the waitress to give me his check and not tell him who paid for it other than "A colts fan who admires your approach to the game." Somehow he got the waitress to point out who bought his lunch and he came over and sat down with us for about fifteen minutes. Beyond a class act! Still a Colts fan and will feel badly cheering against the Texans... but he is the guy who can turn that franchise around.

@@arthursmith7694 Emery did draft some like Kyle Fuller and Kyle Long though, he wasn’t half bad at drafting some players but his executive / hiring decisions were crap.. I still feel like firing Lovie was a mistake after 3 division titles, 4 playoff appearances including two NFC championship appearances (winning one of them) and going to a Super Bowl as well in 9 seasons. After all what has Chicago done since then? One division title, Two playoff appearances and zero title / conference championship game berths in the same time span of nine years… He’s no Mike Tomlin nor Andy Reid, but the man builds healthy team culture, consistently great Defenses, and commands the love / respect of a locker room like a true leader of men!

Lovie has had one heck of a pro career so far: His jobs have included working for Tony Dungy in the 90s as a LBs coach down in Tampa, as a D-coordinator for Mike Martz and going to a SuperBowl in 2001, building a perennially elite defense from 2004-12 in Chicago (as a Head Coach who also went to another SuperBowl and faced off against his mentor in Tony D.), then back to Tampa in the same capacity for a couple of years, before taking time off to reflect and renew on his coaching philosophy (via shadowing others in visits around the League), then after a TV gig, he went down to a very well known college in the Univ. of Illinois (at Urbana-Champaign) for a few years as again an HC, before coming back to the NFL to man the defense of Houston (as a D-coordinator), and now getting his third pro head coaching job (recently promoted to HC of the Texans) in 17 years!

This guy is a very likeable coach. I've always respected Lovie and was hoping the Broncos would get him as our coach. I hope the Texans turn things around under his guidance!

The Texans are a dumpster fire, but you can't tell listening to this guy. They should have a bright future ahead of them with Smith at the helm

My 3rd favorite Bears HC and a fellow Texan. Definitely my favorite interview to date on here. I wish Coach Lovie all the success in the world, just not against the Bears. Lol. BEAR DOWN!!!
