When I watched the film I was unsure about the ending, but after seeing this ending I felt this ending makes the film more complete, and gives us the idea that there is hope for Annabelle and Simone.

@Raim M. I know the original ending ends on a rather sad note, Simone is exposed and could face dismissal while Annabelle will be exposed as part of the scandal. The alternative ending leaves things kind of ambiguous as we don't know whether Simone is waiting for Annabelle's arrival, but it does kind of end the film on a happier and more positive note.

@Raim M. I agree, I think the chemistry and love was there. It would be nice to see what happens to them after the events of the film and them actually pursuing a romantic relationship. Sometimes I think it's better when movies have ambiguous endings because it leaves it up to the audience what happens or what the meaning is.

I think it is a happy ending. We see Annabelle finding out that Simone won't be getting in trouble and then Annabelle goes down to Simone's house to see her. It leaves hope that they'll stay together.

The school is located in LA which the legal age for consensual sex is 18 .. Annabelle was 17 there for by the eyes of the California law it’s classed as statutory rape

No, in this one they are caught still. It's really more of an extended ending. Where in the real ending, we see them take Simone away and that's about it, in this one we find out that no charges are filed and Annabelle goes to be with Simone.

it would also mean after Annabelle read the newspaper Mother Immaculata the head of the Catholic Boarding High School for Girls is in a lot of trouble cause she knew that Annabelle was 17 years old when she came to the school and when she and Simone slept together and she also filed a false statutory rape report on Simone cause in order for it to be "Statutory Rape" Annabelle has to be under 17 but she never was when she came to the school and the cops maybe angry but the priest of the school is much angrier cause she filed the false statutory rape report in a "School of God". it could cost her school teaching jobs for good if she got fired for committing a "Sin" of God in a school of God like that.

I would have preferred a happier outcome and neither one really made it right with me but I understand where the director was coming from.

Being a teacher, and as much as this alternate ending is what romance is made of, it would have been misleading. Simone crossed the line even though she loved Annabelle.

It was so hard for her considering how persistent Annabelle was… It seems like she didn’t really have feelings for her until she began hitting on her and touching her… Sometimes it’s the most difficult thing in the world not to cross that line… I know from experience… There was someone who crossed a boundary with me when she wasn’t supposed to… I let her because I had feelings for her as well… Unfortunately she realized that we were getting too close and had to put an abrupt stop to it before she got in trouble… I was heartbroken but I will always have those fond memories with her… 🥰❤️

Ha ha! I just watched this film for the first time and I honestly waited all the way through the end credits for the real end of the film. The way the theatrical version ends is appalling. It just ENDS. No conclusion and everything left hanging. Whoever made the film needs shooting. It's bad enough I had to sit through 1:30 hours of staring and touching and no real story but to end it with no conclusion was just plain mean. Well done for uploading this "happy ending". But even this looks like an afterthought, perhaps filmed after some test screenings flagged up that the audience would like an ENDING!

this ending is more realistic to me. It says that these two peoples love had consequences since annabelle was still legally a child and teachers are expected to be responsible. without risk love is only a half measure. BUt the original is more romantic.
