@@BartenderAtLarge Question: you're an authority since you've worked in/owned bars. Can you have bitters in a drink and still call it non-alcoholic? I know the US gov't classifies bitters as non alcoholic, but the drink I have in mind has only 1/100 oz of alcohol in a 5 oz drink (all from the bitters), but is it lying to say the drink is non-alcoholic?

I reckon Adam flashed those original expensive bottles to get behind the bar and now we've ended up here... What went wrong? 😂 But legit, I love how much you guys focus on hospitality, and how much the presentation and craft of a drink can bring you into the fold. We're just at home bartenders, who love sitting at a bar, shooting the breeze and learning tips and tricks. I hate it when one of us has to be the sober driver and gets stuck with fruit juice or fizz, so loving this new way of theatrics with low/no alcohol. At home, I've only tried one competitors 'not rum'... It was fine, but fairly expensive and only a three month shelf life, I'm more interested in shrubs and whatnot to experiment with. Also, as a free resource, Diageo Bar Academy is fricken cool

There so many great N/A spirits and liqueurs out there. We might have to feature more of them in a future episode soon. Cheers!

You are spot on- we are missing the mark. I would like to know how to make some NA cocktails so our guests dont feel left out and they can enjoy the experience. Where can I take this class?
@BartenderAtLarge Жыл бұрын
You can learn more about the class by checking out Diageo Bar Academy dot com ;-)

Absolutely loved the episode. I can especially recommend a Virgin Torino Smash and a drink by Anders Erickson called "devil's day off". They can all be found here on YT. Also as a book tip: I really enjoyed "Mindful Mixology" lately because it not only featured great recipes but gave a great insight on how to compose such drink. Great read ☺️

Castro not only talks the talk, he walks the walk, too. When hit up Raised by Wolves, there was an extensive list of nonalcoholic drinks that were delicious and enticing.

I know you like to showcase bars so I wanted to comment. I have been a bartender for 9 years and 16 years total in the industry. I live in the Midwest and I'm currently in the process of opening up my very first bar that will be heavily influenced by fantastic bars like Raised by Wolves, Sasha's world famous Milk and Honey, and Extreme Conditions. I constantly am talking to world class bartenders and I definitely would love to get in touch with you and get your insight on business aspects and some pointers you have. I am very inexperienced in this and I definitely want some award winning advice
