Cocoa tip: Mix the milk into the Cocoa, not the Cocoa into the milk. Mix a tablespoon into cocoa until it is all mixed and dampened, then add the rest of the milk in a slow pour.

I never found store bought syrup to taste good. I'd rather use cocoa powder with water and vanilla stevia then proceed...I make my own vanilla stevia with real vanilla beans and stevia.

FYI: You can substitute large-grain salts for Ice Cream Salt such as: Kosher Salt Rock Salt. Table salt does not have the same coarse texture and should not be used as a substitute for Ice Cream Salt.

The best thing I ever drank was a small frosty blended with Nitro cold brew coffee. Using your base, I think I can recreate that experience for my husband by freezing the mixture in an ice cube tray before blending it with the coffee.

I will try with cold brewed coffee. I use empty tea bags (Publix) with 3 scoops/tablespoons of good coffee in a quart Mason Jar w filtered water. Brew/refrigerate 10-12 hours over night. Mellow brew. Yum.

@@stevensmith9925 Another handy way to make cold brew is with a French Press. I usually prepare the press at night with cold water and grounds, but don't press till morning. If I want a cup of hot coffee in the morning, I will gently heat it to desired temp. and put the rest in the fridge for afternoon refreshment. Wonder if this would work as a replacement for the almond milk?

I use to have an ice cream ball you added the ice cream salt, ice and the ingredients and kicked the ball around for 5-7 minutes and you’d have soft ice cream. I gave it to Goodwill when my kids grew up. I am going to try this recipe. Wish l still had the ball 🤣

The salt does not actually lower the temperature of the ice. The ice is already at a lower temperature, perhaps 25F. The salt melts the ice at a lower temperature than the usual 32F, so it is liquid BELOW 32F. The frosty bag will then freeze at 32F. That's pretty cool, though!

I have been making this for any deserts we have, but not turning it into ice cream. I do different flavors like add a few berries in the food processor, or add either pumpkin pie spice or cinnamon, or some vanilla. I have been using unsweetened whipping cream but I just might try coconut milk and almond milk. Thanks.

Cocoa powder would mix easier and faster if you mix the cocoa, sweetener and just a few Tbsp of the milk. It will be thick. Then add the rest of the liquid and blend.

Allulose syrup also makes a less grainy sugar free sweetener. If you process in a food processor firm morning tofu with a teaspoon of vanilla, 1/4 cup of allulose syrup and 100g of sugar free melted chocolat great dairy free mouse recipe. 😁

I will definitely try this recipe, but instead of the whole rock salt and ice treatment, I'll just freeze it and process it through my Ninja Creami machine. The Creami can even make frozen applesauce into an incredibly creamy treat. Unfortunately applesauce is a no no on keto, but this . . . this would be perfect! Thanks for another great one, Mayra!

Mostly freeze & use an emersion blender. In the long run, that salt gets expensive, which is why we got rid of our homemade ice cream maker
