I bought inexpensive semi-open weave curtains for a back wall using shower curtain hooks to hang it. Allows for breezes to come thru. For the side walls I used white plastic lattice cut in half (that way is not too awkward to handle and fits in the back of the van) used small bungee cords to hang the lattice. It can easily be adjusted to hang level. "S" hooks nicely hang the artwork. Added a burlap "table runner" matching the color of the back wall curtain. This was my first time displaying my artwork. I thought it looked pretty good.

Bought two sets of expanded metal/grates from Amazon for about $50. Each set bolted together along with two “T” feet that attached so each set of panels would stay vertical. The expanded metal/grate allowed for places to attach “S” hooks. Upper part of the “S” hooked into the expanded metal. Lower part held the painting. Between the two sets of grates I zipped tied a 3’X 2’ section of wire fencing material. All told my display ‘wall’ is 10’ long and 6’ high. It is strong enough to hold all the framed paintings I bring with me. ID tags are Avery labels on which I print the work’s title and price. I only remove a small section of the paper backing and that leaves a strip of adhesive on the tag. That adhesive attaches to the painting frame. Quick, cheap, easily erected and taken down. I do not have a tent. I paint en plein air and I exhibit en plein air. Thanks for your video.

This was so helpful!! Thank you for sharing. I've been wanting to do a fair for a long time but don't have the display tools or the $ to spend a lot. So this definitely has me thinking!! I'm also in Florida. My family moved here last August, we're in Debary. Again, thanks for the video. I'm going to brainstorm now 😄

So glad this is helping to spark ideas - I didn't display my art for over 5 years because I didn't think I could do it without the super expensive set-up! Be sure to check out my other video about the inexpensive display panel idea too. Glad to have connected with another FL artist! ❤

Great video, lovely art and set up. I haven't done a show yet. I'm preparing myself for 1st one in October. I'd like to ask what you use to transport your items to your spot in the show? I know there are carts, wagons, etc.. but wondering what works the best please. My first one will be an inside event but loving all your helpful hints for an outside set up. Really appreciate the knowledge and advise from your own experience. Thank you.

Congratulations on your first show! I’m putting the link to the rolling cart I use. Truthfully, the best thing to do if the show allows us to drive up to your spot at setup and unload. It’s hard not to have to make multiple trips otherwise with art (especially larger pieces). amzn.to/3E5aN5p

Thanks so much for the tips! In your experience, do you think prints are worth investing into? Or do you make most of the sales from originals? This video was super helpful!
@art4good Жыл бұрын
Yes, I think prints are worth the investment because the margin is good when they sell, but I would only order a small quantity. That’s one mistake I made! Until you know which ones will sell, just go with a small batch!

Hi…great video…thank you…quick question…where did you have your paintings framed?
@art4good Жыл бұрын
I usually buy floating canvas frames in bulk and frame them myself. I also periodically make my own! I’ve got some videos on both ways here: kzbin.info/aero/PL5oOLrxy9MyYLVfUvaYuBs2rjasWJUHEG&si=xIVKFlm8DQa2MPn4

I would increase your tent weights to at least sixty pounds each leg. I use eighty on each of mine. I can’t tell you how many tents with forty pounds each leg I have watched take off in a high wind in seven years. The last show had one strong gust and twelve tents were destroyed along with part of their contents.
@art4good Жыл бұрын
I would agree - most shows I’ve seen don’t require that much, but I’d say the more weight you can manage to get on there, the better!
