Is it open season on Abalone in Vic? Here in WA its only a few days of the year and about 4-6 hours on that day, beaches are policed by rangers and fisheries nazis checking sizes and bag limits. Get the odd drowning as well.........

Yeah only in certain areas, You can have a bag limit off 10 with only 2 green lips per person. Gee that's tough 4-6 hrs only on certain days that wouldn't give you much chance especially if you get bad weather.

Hi I thought you couldn't bring your own - fire pit ... ? Are authorities ok with that?

Hi Jodie, we noticed some people made their own fire pit on the grass so we put ours on one of those but had a sheet of metal underneath to catch all the ash.

@@JourneyUnknown ok great. We just didn't want to get into trouble for bringing our own fire pit. We've never been to bear gully so we weren't sure if they come around checking.

@@jodie238 they didn’t come around when we were there however that was during Covid. It’s a great spot and the sites along the water are better than the ones up the back.
